Deep Stoner Thoughts

Mate ... no. That's not correct. the world is a much more seedy place than you think. there is lots of work for male prostitutes. lots of guys swing both ways but keep it quiet. those quiet guys introduced AIDS into the hetero population.

Canna Red is being ironic, sarcastic. He needs punishing with a bum smack in my opinion.

I think they're desperate for jobs.

Not many jobs for male prostitutes, so some men pay for the body mod surgery, so they can look like women.

One 50+ year old guy at the local coffee place who spends 3 months a year in the Philippines for the same reason - to hook up with 20 year old women - reports that the he-she's have an abnormally large fake clitoris.

Sounds like there are more categories than I really want to know.

We like to think that certain things don't exist anymore, horrible things like slavery, child prostitution, etc, when all it takes to witness these things with your own eyes is a trip to the regions where it's still the everyday reality. Try telling a north korean that slavery doesn't exist in the modern world, as long as they're not within earshot of a government spy, they'll set you straight.

The west thinks it's good at imposing its own order and morals on other societies, in reality it's mostly just good at convincing people, at home and abroad, to focus on something else. North Koreans have no rights? Oh well, let's talk about medicaid. Children being sold into slavery throughout the developing world? Nah, global warming and penguins!!!

There is Slavery today. In my country and yours! Immigrants, visa visitors are taken advantage of.

Domestic Violence is a form of slavery. It exists everywhere. More than one woman slave per week dies from violence in Australia. What about your country?

Call me Grumpy True this morning!

I thought the Cornish hen, might have a chance hanging out with some free range birds.

So I bought one, & now I realize I might need to buy another, because the other birds are not great company for a 3 week old hen.

They put on meat, as in ultra-muscular. Once she gets outside she will be walking up & down hills with the few others. Won't be sitting in front of a feed bin. Thought maybe she has a chance of a few months of free-range bird happiness.

In the past I've thrown the birds off a small cliff to give their flying muscles a little boost. It will be interesting to see how that works with the genetic semi-mutant-freak Cornish. Maybe she will actually learn how to fly properly.

Why is that not a reality show ?

If the current generation had experienced rationing at some point in their lives i'd have a lot more hope for their ability to lead humanity into a more positive future. The culture of waste is too strong.

Wasn't it the previous generations job to instill the morals and ethics they so bemoan we don't have upon us?

:tiphat:

don't know who said it but

"hard times make strong men. strong men make good times. good times make weak men. weak men make hard times" so on and so forth

Morals and ethics are not taught or learned but innate.

I disagree, for example, the young lion cub is taught how to hunt for it's food, it's doesn't have the innate ability to catch prey, it has a built in predator instinct yes, but has to be taught how to use that instinct. If morals and ethics are intrinsic, then everyone in the world would have the same morals and ethics and we know that isn't the case. I understand your view point, it just isn't my own. Every generation thinks the next is useless, it's a tired and boring argument.

To say that we do not learn our values and ethics is to deny Social Conditioning. And is probably due to imagining One's makeup is derived from Heaven. When the shit is hitting the fan you will most probably react the way your Father did before you, and his Father did before that.

This is a debate that has gone on for centuries really, the question of whether morals and ethics are immutable and inherent, or determined over time according to the needs of a given Society or situation. In some countries where resources are low, wasting food or water is considered utterly reprehensible, where is here in the United States it's a wag of the finger at most. How people are treated in their daily life can have a huge impact upon their psyche, and there for their actions, yet common courtesy is treated with little to no regard by the average person.

I just hate people.......

Me too. Kinda sucks sometimes. But every single time I go start feeling better about things some asshole just reminds me it's those loudmouth petty turds that make me retreat to my man-cave in the country on a dead-end dirt road with no visible neighbors. Bah humbug.

I do love my kids and girlfriend though.

But you might be kidding. I'm not. :plant grow:

I don't think I hate my fellow man, even when he's annoying or cheating at poker, but I will never understand what makes them callous, apathetic, and hateful. Like Israel Kama, I believe that moving forward doesn't require disrupting others, the predatory aspect of humanity is toxic. We aren't meant to live our lives destroying things, we are meant to be the stewards and shepards of this world, guiding it in peace. I don't think our species will learn this lesson in time to survive the coming challenges of climate change and overpopulation.
