Isnt Monkey Balls DCxTHOHaze? That's how I remember it was done. Wonderful plants, I really miss my DC and the DCx Sk#1 I got from esben was amazing. Damn.. yeaaap edit; it was DCx OHaze indeed, Monkey Balls that is. I have had both of Tom's lines the DC and OHaze and was thinking about crossing them when I noticed that the HTC folks (OGbub?who was it who made it?) had already done it. I still have many crosses made using those lines. Actually just found some amazing JLP crosses like Amnesia99 and other nice ones along with those made using Tom's DC and Haze lines. Hard to go wrong with those I say. Cant handle uploadin pics but theres a nice gem or two there, looking forward to that small bag, Strawberry Haze (Tom Hill Purple OHaze crossed with Screme) let's hope these still pop.

Monkey balls was supposed to be a selection of deep chunk done and monkey haze was made with that selection and his haze. I don't know if it was seed line selection or single plants but that's the best I can recall.

KOS Deep Chunk

KOS Deep Chunk

Anyone have anymore info on KOSs line? If they are using photos from someone else’s grow log on their site that doesn’t sound very legit.

Anyone with more info on their line? Anyone grow it? Ordered it from them?

I ordered. 10 tiny little seeds (I was expecting big fat ones...? Other Tom Hill DC seeds I've seen look much larger.) Anyway, all of them germed and are up within 2 days. I will post some pics in the next few weeks.

KOS basically describes these seeds as 'from crossing 3 females and 2 males from the Tom Hill line, pre-2000'.

Has anyone else run these? What am I in for with these?

I was just wondering what happened to Deep Chunk. I remember back around 2007-2009 it was all the rage here, and someone who I really wish I remembered his user name, but I believe he is no longer on here, but from Cali, sent dkmonk (RIP) and I some Casey Jones x (Deep Chunk x Sweet Pink Grapefruit). We had two distinct phenos but both were phenominal.

From what I remember, and please correct me as if I'm wrong, as I'd prefer to be englightened rather than believing something false, but Deep Chunk, while a really nice indica, and EXTREMELY frosty, was a very low yielder. Am I correct in "remembering" that? I remember at the time it was being crossed to a lot of strains to get that insane trich coverage.

Peace and Love,
Tetra

I've been working a line that is so close to the deep chunk I remember ….. at F3 I named it Chunk D Hashplant.
Started out as an open pollination of seeds I won in an auction from verdant green. An F1 cross of Dr Atomic NL#5 x Tom Hill Deep Chunk.

Grown at 52N in a light dep box with less than ideal conditions. This first pics the plants are soaked from rain. zero mold at harvest however.

Found this old thread about KOS and Greenman420's strains. I guess the Deep Chunk comes from Gman and is questionable....?

Great looking plant bro. Unmistakable deep chunk frost going on. As far as the zero mold at harvest comment, can we see some pics of the dried buds as well as the plants right before harvest?

To me it doesn't look like pure Deep Chunk by any means, but that is in no way an insult, as I said the plants look great, and without you mentioning they were grown in less than optimal conditions I would never have known, and the Deep Chunk genes are definitely noticable by the distinct DC trichs on the sugar leaves.

I don't really have anymore pics I can share. There are really good pics and full season grow/smoke report of the Chunk D Hashplant grown in Michigan this year by a fellow named goodenergygrower, but not on this forum. I don't like using the pics from other growers without their permission. The beans are out there if folks search around.
I'll be working the line again this summer to weed out the NL and preserve the Deep Chunk traits.

I'm not claiming it is Deep Chunk reborn..... but as for how she smokes, tastes and feels..... the chunk is strong. :tiphat:

Here is some smaller plants that were part of the F2 selections before it was named Chunk D HP.

Keep up the great work man! I'm sure the smoke is phenomenal. And as stated, in my experience, deep chunk is great in crosses. I look forward to seeing your future work on this.

In your first set on pics, the last picture, the real bushy purple one looks spot on the the DC I know, just a little less frost. The DC I know looked like it had just been snowed on.

Looks like it can still be found in crosses at a few places. Verdant Green's LemonThai/DC x Bubba, Medical Seeds has a Neville's Hz /DC. Of course, there's CBG's PanamaDC. Hazeman has his Monkey Balls, but idk how it is compared to original DC.

Had bad luck with germing my latest couple packs of PanamaDC, but did end up with a male that I pollinated a PCK with. Will have some F2s soon that I hope to look through for some good DC phenos.

My seeds came from KOS directly. We'll see.

'Comes from'...? I gather they worked together, had a falling out and who tf knows what is what now. Same old story.

I honestly just want some authentic Deep Chunk genes minus the drama. I'd love some X18 as well.

From what I remember, Monkey Balls was amazing, and subjectively better overall, in terms of yield, flavor, effects, and potency. It definitely retained the original insane DC frost. I wasn't aware of Hazeman or that he had seeds. Thanks for the info, definitely will be looking into that.

This reminds me that I have som DC seeds. Last time I popped a couple, I ended up with 2 males, so I hit some White Widow with the pollen and haven't grown any of the seeds. I've got a bunch of organic soil and I think I'll pop a few of them and see what happens.

Is the Pine Tar Kush any close relation to the Deep Chuck...

I’ve got some PTK seeds and don’t really know what to expect...

Not too much in common between the 2 lines besides being wide leafed and they both came from Tom Hill. Expect pine from PTK. It will dominate any cross that isn't made with a well inbred line. If you make more PTK, the seeds will be PTK...there is some variation but they all are similar.
