Deep Chunk And Pine Tar Kush

Beans via Gypsyand TomHill,

2482t_ThankyouGypsyAndTomHill.jpg

Big Thanks to their generosity in spreading the seed.

Gday folks , we started out by using the paper towel germination for several days before putting them in a
mix of peat and perlite with a 400HPS several feet away.

Eventually it will be only 3-4 plants, but for now, we are growing out half a dozen strains to choose from.

The rest of the unused plants will be given away.

~Just like to dedicate this harvest to my wife~

Looking forward to see how this turns out.I also have some deep chunk x pine tar kush named cripple creek from a fellow member here. Good luck and keep us updated

Dont start flaming me:D But I am going to try my deep chunk x pice tar kush (cripple creek) in Dwc. I dont know of anyone who has tried this strain in hydro so I am interested in seeing how it turns out.Hopefully it doesnt lose any of its flavor or pretty looks. I just germed the seeds and as soon as I get another camera (My camera is broken now) I will start a gallery here.

Leeroy I also like the fact that you are going all organic,Because I am striving to go all NON-organic.So it seems like we are going down the oppisite roads w/ very similar strains. We will have to compare pics during the grows and when finished. I have no doubt yours will be better as it seems you have more experience then me.But if I end up w/ some smokable product I will be happy:D Good Luck Leeroy and Im gonna keep a close eye on this one, thanks,Mike

Forgot to add the PTK snap shots

Forgot to add the PTK snap shots

They didnt start out as well as the other plants thats for sure.

I guess being sick slows everything down because they are only a quarter of the size of the other strains their age.

The pics are of the PTK seeds.
Germinated by 24-8-04 but later given away.

Gday Bartender, thanks for stopping by man, im going to have to have a peek at your plants aswell, sounds like youve got some nice stuff on the go.

Gday Mike youve got some kick arse strains going on too mate. Be good to see your hydro pics.

Feel free to post pics and stop by anytime.
I dont have much to update im in the middle of veg and just taking notes and trying to adjust ph. Apart from that its all pretty run of the mill.

Was going to take more pics but the sun isnt shinning enough for the web cam to work.

Take it easy,
Leeroy

Grow Journal Notes

Grow Journal Notes

Had to cut back the numbers in the grow room so the PTK's will be grown another day.

Decided to keep 2 Deep Chunk's , 2 Seedbay freebies and 1 hybrid thats already in 12/12. (Possibly a hermie still too soon to be sure)

See how we go from there.
Hopefully should end up with a few girls.

At the moment I just use a local source of liquified kelp, blood and bone, fish emulsion, a bit of lime, liquid potash for flowering, and a few flakes of epsom salts when needed.

Im trialling out a soil-less medium of 50/50 peat and perlite, no soil nutrients or compost added, only slowly watered nute solutions through fast draining soil.

Mainly because im trying to keep gnat numbers down, and i wanted to see if it were possible to keep it a liquified fed medium only, no soil or compost nutrients for the gnats to play in.

So far its ok but ph is a little high,
im adding some peat moss in the next transplant to acidify it a little bit.

26/9/04**Just added peat moss to one plant and results are good, will go ahead and add peat moss to all others.

Medium Mix now consists of 50% perlite, 20% peat moss,30% coco peat.

All other nutrients are added via watering.

So far the gnats have been kept to a minimum. Have manually had to kill about 10-15 by hand (which is better than last years crop of hundreds of the little buggers)

First 3 pics are the Deep Chunk at 24 days
