It's a week today since planting pre soaked seeds there's two didn't show and two a little slow.
20241207_192939.jpg

All in I'm happy with them its time to flip them.

I've put a heat matt under the tray and plugged it into a controller to help with temps during the night.
Heat matts ime are too hot for small amounts of coco so I've put the temp probe under a pouch to maintain 22/23C⁰

It's the only source of heat until I get a heat sorted out.

Let's see what happens?

@mr.brunch welcome, thanks for stopping in 👍

Have a nice weekend everyone 🍻

Hey folk's it's been a few days at least 🤭
Things are looking up.
20241211_141617.jpg

I've since put in a heater and lifted the tray up off the floor it's too cold down there even with a heater.
I've a couple of late sprouts I've put into the clone tent to get them growing properly 1st.

They've been a little slow I'm a bit unsure about them they're not really with the program, let's see what happens?

Edit, Sun 15th....
#2 blue is growing, its only grown the tiniest fraction out the tip but it's verified growth, hopefully it'll catch on and grow at a normal rate?

A bro brought these to my attention it's a nugget of gold if you're thinking about buying a bowl trimmer?

I've been looking a bit closer at different trimmers and it appears only the automated and professional ones costing many hundreds have that type of grate in them, apparently they make a better job tbh I'd be happy with the results I'm seeing on Yt.

$150±

They're only a fraction of some of them, the yezfarm for example is $450 its identical.

For that pot type trimmer I ordered I was thinking something like a microwave motor with a variac would be easy to modify?
I'll see what it's like I quite 1st I do enjoy a diy project?

Speaking of Diy I'm going to try and make a static wand to clean sift.
Screenshot_20241022_182909_Gallery.jpg

It's constant supply of static its a good start.
If you're wondering what I'm on about?
Static can be used to attract the leaf or resin, one of them is + charge and the other is - charge which attract each other?

If you know anything about getting a static feild on a sheet of baking paper or tin foil that would be handy tbh idk what I'm doing it just seems
logical that it might work 🤭

Merry Christmas everyone and best wishes for the festive period 🎅

Hey folk's, so that's 4wks today in 12-12 and I'm starting to see the sexes of some, I've culled 5 iirc and confirmed a few females.

Have a nice weekend folk's

Wed/Thurs iirc was the last time I squished gnats (3 between 5 pots) it's looking like sealing the pots is working?

I'll know for certain soon enough though.

I kept these gnat infected pouches of coco sealed up afaik they've died off, for reasons idk they don't appear to breed stuck in there?

The yellowing has cleared up and the plants are all looking healthy again.
View attachment 19088027
Roots are pouring out the bottom.
View attachment 19088024
I've just trimmed them back it was getting a bit crowded.
View attachment 19088025
I cloned some bluchi shoots while I was there.
View attachment 19088028
I should've taken meticulous notes on the gnat situation I've only a rough guide my times/dates could be off?

Essentially though numbers are non existent atm?

Edit...wed 30th October...1 gnat from the coco pouches, the last of them went in the day I sealed the pots, say a month ±
Hey folk's, I thought I better update my attempt at getting rid of fungus gnats 100% by keeping the gnats in/out of the pots using bags and feeding from the bottom....it's worked 100% I've not seen a single gnat in almost 6wks ± 😊

It needed around 7 weeks to completely eradicate them but I'd say 2 months is essential to prevent 1 late gnat undoing all your work, it's a successful way to eradicate fungus gnats without using poison or even spending money.

Have a nice weekend everyone 🍻
