So Jake goes to the ship where they rag on you the hardest, and is full of a bunch of ex users... while is brother goes onto the 'loosest' boat, where they prank people, but dont pick on them...
They mutinied last year red/blue season. It doesnt matter who owns the boat, the captain is in charge of that bitch while at sea. they both suck.

If blues are that hard to catch, they should have focused on reds. Im 99% sure the show said they fished blues for 9 days and threw in the towel.
Their 'investment' certainly factored them fishing Reds too.
Captain is the unquestioned leader at sea PERIOD. Ive never been in the service, but im pretty sure the captain is in charge of the boat, even if an admiral is on board (although the admiral can relive him of duty).

Hilstrands are awesome, i like the Norwegians too, i just think they will eat jake alive. The boats could not be much more different in their crew approach.

What a great show last night...the capt with one engine is crazy!! he deff takes alot of chances.

I love that show but I hate when they distort the truth. Like they over dramatize Elliot, as if he's not catching much, but the crab count says he caught over 100klbs. They do that every season though. Deadliest catch is the most real reality show out, they don't have to do that.

Chris? the one that went into convolutions?..he called Keith and said they were running tests but still didnt know what was wrong. He didnt remember anything that happened on the boat and was going to be takin to a bigger hospital.

I will say that I gained some respect for Keith in his quick and correct handling of Chris who needed immediate medical evacuation - K+++

cant believe that captain that replaced phil for a season called to cops in on jake,, that was seriously lame,, that guy was lame from the start,, and he acted like they ruined it all but dont they basically own the boat ?
i do agree that the captain is the captain but if you dont respect who your working for then you dont really want to be in a potentially life threatening job so why not call it quits,, i always wondered if jake was a stoner..

I have been crab fishing tons of times... Never on the bering sea...I have been in big scary weather25-35 rollers are no joke.....you have to respect the balls these guys have to chase the dream season after season... If it wasn't for this show the conditions would be twice as bad!!!

There's a word for this effect which escapes me right now...You read one newspaper article, watch one TV show in an area your knowledgeable and all you think is: "Boy, is this shit bad, wrong from start to end!"
Then you switch the channel and take the next show/ article at face value.
It's as shitty, dumb, wrong as the article before, you just don't realize it because it's not in your area of expertise.
