hey mule, thanks for the kind words, it means a lot to know i'm contributing to things here and someone other than me is reading my stuff :D i've been to san francisco and vancouver, the rocky mountains are beautiful and absolutely insane compared to any topography we have in australia lol i think the tallest place here is Mount Kosciuszko 2228 m (7310 ft) which is nothing compared to the heights of mountains over there from what i can remember. truly epic :D but yeah i'll definitely have to find some rug to cut up and try out on my shoes to see how it goes! lol i don't think my folks would be happy if i took to their carpet with some scissors haha thanks again mate, have a nice one

this is the sort of bushland around, it's incredibly thick and hard to move through which is good and bad. haha the holes were dug at sunset and later we came back with the plants to plant but man it took 30mins of walking around the actually are with torches in darkness to find the holes again even with a bright blue bag that marked the spot. so it'd be hard to stumble upon that's for sure. went back today to take these photos and it was a little easier to find but still nicely hidden.

just to recap,
* i brought in tools and a bag of my own soil when digging the holes and prepping the area, and made sure i took all of the trash and tools back out with me and left nothing there.
* same when i went in with the plants in a box i planted them but made sure i took all rubbish and tools with me.
* i entered from one direction and left through another to make sure i don't create an obvious track straight to the spot too.
* plants were planted with sufficient open space above them so they'll get 5 or so hours of direct sunlight per day.
* they weren't planted in rows, circles or spirals etc, no obvious pattern just spread out many metres apart.

I think it's cool as hell we are on the opposite solar cycles yet we were doing the EXACT same stuff @ same time of year. You must be a bit more north than I am south though 'eh. (edit, yeah ur 37)

Losing stuff at dusk & starting to panic because you didn't bring a light is the worst, lol.

i bet if you just add perlit some worm castings and some of those npk fert pellets you could grow great size plants. the Aussie sun is gonna make it happen as long as you water them in any drought times.

i can only wish for such loose sandy soil, my spots in the wood have about 3 inches of nice looking soil under a layer of old leaf, but right under the thin layer of nice black soil comes a layer full of clay, specially when it was wet that stuff sticks together like mad, all the surrounding trees and vegetation seems to manage to grow in it though.

haha thanks guys yeah hopefully it goes well. gaiusmarius yeah i mixed in some slow release fert pellets into my soil mix as well as perlite in there too and 5in1 ferts and mixed that with the soil at the site so hopefully it gives them an initial boost. when i get enough time to do it properly i'm going to dig bigger holes and put some fish at the bottom of them to rot and slowly release nutes too.

agroagro - yeah i'm at 37S :D it sucked for a while though always reading about all you guys starting your grows as we were going into winter lol but yeah it's nice that we're on opposite cycles so there's always something going on

aww that's awesome squiggles, those are some great tips as i was actually trying to work out how the hell i was going to deal with the stuff i harvested if it is a fair amount in the end. do you have any tips for drying it and curing it at the spot?? or do you just chuck it straight into the poly pipe and leave it there? cheers mate

i would dry it first mate otherwise you could lose the lot to mold and in no time trust me :(
i have tried a few ways to dry cure it mate and it depends on alot of factors
if you have a nice secluded spot hang it up a tree to dry, if not; dig a trench place a makeshift table in it/leaving room for airflow place you crop on it and cover with a camo net.
hers a few bits of advice i keep on top of my guerilla list mate
a hermit does it best "Wally"
no rubbish on site = no shinies to catch someones eye "Squiggs"
lost a crop to a coke can once never agian

looks like the plants survived the huge rains we had last week but 2 are showing signs of overwatering i think as they've wilted a little... hopefully we don't cop too much more and the soil can dry out a little letting them recover.

i think we have <9 hrs 50 mins of light per day at the moment, so what's interesting is that these plants haven't shown any signs of flowering in the last 2 weeks. i'm unsure, but i'm guessing there's 2 limits to the flower light cycle and upper and lower. i've heard of people using as low as 10 hrs, so maybe anything below that doesn't allow the plant to flower. also these guys haven't grown at all really in 2 weeks. night temps are probs <10C and day temps less than 16C so they definitely have been planted early, i just wanted to see how they'd go. interesting stuff.

power kush - a bit better than the white widow one but only just.

white widow - wilting the most out of all three

power plant - this girl's looking best out of all of them as she's still very perky and hasn't seemed to have any issues with wilting.

Looking really healthy to me. Hope you get enough rain to sustain them pups. Looking forward to this season, hope it rains a little less then last season (east coast australia), but a little more then most.

Allways a good idea not to plant em all in one spot, but i'm sure I don't need to tell ya that.

Are you using an Auger? I find it works a treat

darwinsbulldog relax mate they are looking fucking sweet anyone who says other wise is a dick head LOL, and they will start to flower in the next week or 2 I promise you :) I have the out door monster cropping tech down pat mate and you have done everything right ;)

Im taking the majority of my seedlings and putting them in the ground tommoz its a little early but I cant let em get root bound in the pots as I will not be able to visit them for the next 7 - 14 days because as life does it gets in the way of the grow from time to time LOL

haha thanks mate, mind's at ease :D you going to use anything like fencing etc to protect from animals? i've a fair few white widow clones to put outside once they've rooted in the next 1-2 weeks too i hope, but they're tiny and would be easy snacks to wallabies and kangaroos etc if they wanted, so might have to fashion some fencing...
