Cytochromes are a class of trans-membrane protein characterized by a highly conjugated ring system surrounding a central metal ion. This arrangement imbues the protein with a highly a delocalized charge and allows easy conversion between the central metal's oxidation states. Cytochrome protiens are used in....well Xillions of chemical processes within all known plants and animals. From synthesis to metabolism of virtually every plant compound in every plant on the planet a cytochrome of one form or another is at work.
Now if you said cytochrome p450 is responsible for the oxidation of lipids during plant metabolism that would be one thing but Please don't make statements like this it makes you look silly.
