get on their mailing list, they meet a few times a week in Boston area.

you need to be all over IG, Google meet-ups, etc to stay on top of the events around here, there's something every day between Maine, Mass, and RI in terms of sales events like farmers markets or social/educational events.

Wow. Thanks. I will sign up.

Anyone make the Boston Cannabis Society party tonite at the testing lab in Milford?

they had a bunch of really nice clones they were raffling and the place was mobbed.
looked like 3-400 to me there were 154 RSVP's online this afternoon.

the lab and extraction facility was really sweet and they had a huge vape lounge and terp tasting area with flower smoking outside.

I'm not interested in the vape pens but there were so many they were passing and some very faded types in there.

really very different crowd than any High Times kinda event.
I was probably the only one with a bag full of jars and only saw a couple people flashing bags of bud.

mostly classy looking rich old white folks with a much smaller bunch that looked like younger stoners/growers.
Aww that sounds really cool, I wish I coulda made it there to see the facility... I had gone to the first one before it when they were still free and open, now they changed the membership and are trying to claim/make it "limited access" and all this yeah sure as though you don't want to have as many people as you can get lol.. What were they charging for membership and the event?? I'm not into paying membership fees on top of other fees and on top of any other way people get tricked into being charged for things (especially for information I already know, or networking I don't need.. lol).. They are all really cool chill people who are putting it on though I just don't like having to go through all these hoops if you want to have people pay.. okay, but just have them pay, and make one time membership access to events so people and so on (maybe they are doing that for all I know and I'm talking out my ass).

Honestly the 5 minutes I spent at Gene Traders eating coffee and cake and getting stupid was WAY more fun and worthwhile but it was a great time at the cannabis society too, just very different. Seeing the lab and asking some Q's woulda been interesting though..

Sheeeeet I wish I knew, I live 15 minutes away. I'm the type who bridges the gaps, young/old/biker/corporate does not matter to me, it's all about the bud and making friends that appreciate what it is supposed to be. PM links please?

It's going to be interesting to see the guys from Cannabis Society try to turn the organization into jobs. $75? For a social club? I'd rather give the money to Masscann/NORML or even MPP.

Funny, I've worked in high tech and other professional industries for a long time and never paid to attend a "networking" or social event. I do pay to see talented artists like musicians or for good food.

But Boston's a crazy-expensive place to live. Everybody's gotta make a buck it seems.

The dude(s) who does it I am sure it is a second/third job as well as a hobby and passion and I get it you need to make something to keep it rolling and honestly now for $75 yeah its a, money, but you know for that first gig they put out that's pretty awesome, and I bet they'll be more cool stuff like it.. I know they are spending something especially with the first few events even with sponsorship I imagine so you have to try and get something out of it over time too.. I wasn't sold on what they were offering as "perks" to begin with, but now knowing what some of that is, I'd say you more than get your money's worth for a year's membership. Like, for instance, that event and whatever more to come deff makes a membership worth it meow.

Look at me marketing :tiphat:

there was no membership fee for this event. free and everyone was welcome. they have weekly events open to everyone and "special" things for members that are elite and not advertised to everyone. I'm not a member just on their list.

Gene Traders Event Review

Gene Traders Event Review

So obviously Mass and Rhode Island aren't the same place but I was impressed by what was on offer and I think it would satisfy the needs of posters in this Thread. So......

Sunday 3/19 at TetraHydro Club in Wakefield RI.

I got in with one of those shitty recks you get online from the Cali delivery services but nobody batted an eye and I din't have to finesse the situation at all. If you have any kind of reasonable looking card from any state you should be good.

The main floor of the club looked like the small room in the Knitting Factory. Cement floor, stage in front with projection screen, black walls sparsely lit, concessions available at a counter in the back.

I didn't stay for the entire event but for the time I was there 10 or so vendors were active. I spent most of my time choppin it up with ICMAG renaissance man chunky pigs. He immediately smoked me out on a sourdubb joint that tasted delicious. He was vending all verified clones and his new seed releases which were very impressive; at least ten new crosses. I have had some good results with chunky's Sluggo(Forum Cooks Mother x Reversed GG4 Father) so that Gave us some background to talk shop. The venue played music but it wasn't so loud you had to yell to be heard which is nice.

After 5-7 more joints I was the proud owner of the following clones:
Sour Diesel (Chaco)
Sour Dubb (Greyskull, Bog)
GG4 (Josie Wales)- He gave me this one for free. (The dream is still alive.)
OGKB 2.0 (Chunky Pigs)

I was able to smoke and smell and finger samples of each plant before I bought which for me is exactly what I want from an event like this. Support this guy; there is zero hubris, greed, or dick swinging with Chunk, just a bunch of fire Genetics.

Among the other vendors EastCoasterdam had clones available most notably Buckeye Purple which is bred by Mel Vann under the Melvanetics label. I initially planned to pick up one of those but I have a pack from her first firestax release I need to hunt. I can't remember what other clones were offered but there was a decent selection. I can't speak to the validity of the clone genetics but they were super healthy looking and the booth was well run.

There were tons of concentrate related items wax, rosin, distillate tubes, preloaded rosin packs. Also the club had a house press in case anyone wanted to press buds onsite. I don't fuck with dabs so I cant speak reliably as to the quality of the products but if that is your scene you would be well represented.

There were several vendors that I didn't sample anything from but they all looked like they were doing swift business.

Overall the event was pretty rad, my goal was to grab some nice genetics from the ICMAG stable and I pulled that off in spades. I would recommend this club for anyone on the hunt. The easiest way to hear about their stuff is to follow them on IG.

Sincerely,

Jets

So I guess the moral of the story is:

If you have a special rare elite cut and you don't want to have it whored out to the masses...........

DON'T GIVE IT TO CHUNKY PIGS!!!

I felt sick to my stomach actually. Look, good for you that you got some nice cuts. How much did you pay? I would have given you sour or glue for free.

The bigger issue is vending some of the best elite cuts around like some cheap crack whore for a profit. It took me 5 yrs to find ecsd, and I did it by paying my dues and making good connections. When I got her she was a gift, for free, from someone who thought I deserved her. I've done the same for others. To see her put on a table for any asshole who has the cash is heartbreaking, and I know there are many others who feel the same way. She's a special, special girl and should be treated with respect. The worst case scenario is some dispensary sees her on Chunky's table and then whores her out through his business but on a much larger scale. A lot of the og's on here and other places would be absolutely furious to hear what he's doing.

I really hope he at least got Joesey's and Greyskull's permission to be vending their cuts. If you want to sell your own creations to the ehole world and spread it far and wide, go for it I hope you make a killing, but for fucks sake show some respect for the ones you didn't make and that others have worked hard to make sure don't go out to the commercial market! Thank God he didn't get his hands on the 91 is what I'm thinking.

Triggered?

Triggered?

I think you are uninformed in terms of how the world works. There are many legitimate companies vending clones including sour diesel. If Chunky wants to vend clones he can. If you want to flip out about it and cry online you can.

God Bless America

No one is vending legit sour bro. No one. Why? Because people who have her know better than to give her away to a money grubbing dispensary.

Being triggered ain't a bad thing if it's called for. You throw that word around like it's some kinda insult. Damn right I'm triggered! Don't stoke the flame holmes I'm trying real hard not to do what I'm extremely tempted to do which is start a thread and put chunky on blast and see what the rest of the community thinks about what he's doing. So don't push me son I'm on a hair fucking trigger with this.

What about entrepreneurship? Capitalism creates wealth. We have to tolerate it to have a working economy.

I stopped a friend from spending hundreds on a seedbank order recently by giving him a bunch of seeds I made. I got a lot of satisfaction out of sharing, maybe I"ll get to see the plants later. But I have no problem with people selling seeds, without profitable seed banks there'd be no incentive to invest in breeding projects.

All cannabis seed prices right now are absolute gouging btw. A 50-pack of seeds would cost less than $10 for any other type of seeds, including heirloom strains.

The business world is full of crazy stuff. You can take a class in how to grow cannabis for $500, or you can buy a Jorge Cervantes book for $15. People blow money on all sorts of stupid stuff.

Go ahead, you and all the oldheads can cry about how its not like it was in the 90s or whatever. Then everybody can throw a fit, but then it won't matter in real life because this is an internet message board. Being an OG on ICmag really doesn't mean anything and doesn't carry with it any actual power to control what other human beings do. And its obviously a better idea for everybody to have access to dank weed than just a circle of weed nerds, so that is what will happen in the end. I'm trying to help you understand how the world works, if you won't listen that's on you. And again, I'm not in the least it upset. I usually don't post or get involved I'm here for the knowledge. I happened to go to a cool event, I thought I would write a positive review to shine TetraHydro and Chunk because I felt like they did a good job. Then the hall moniter shows up to stop me from spreading CRAZY IDEAS!

Cheers Mates,

That's it I'm starting a thread. Let's see if this internet message board has no effect on real life. Hey Chunky, you can thank this little fucker for not letting it go and triggering me to the point of starting a whole thread on this!
