Damn, $400 an ounce for outdoors? I get the same stuff in large amounts, it's very popular around new england and some of canada. It has a very lemony piney smell when broken up right? I noticed it also varies in quality, sometimes it's a little darker than others, and not as frosty. It's also a little leafy, but some decent bud nonetheless. I pay $220 an ounce max though, and thats trimmed and bone dry. The ounces i get look like 2 ounces of your average commercial indica, it's very light. I find it's alot better than beasters though, it's not as good as headies (headies means various high end strains around here), but it doesn't have that chemically rough taste of the beasters and is alot dryer and smokes alot better. The high also kicks beasters ass, it's not that boring couchlocky headache hioh that beasters has. I find it goes awesome with a little bubblehash on top.
I live right near CT, and get alot of bud that comes from CT. I'd say 30-35% of the strains i get have been from CT, atleast that's what i've been told. Alot of the bud around new england can be boughten in all the new england states. Like, i see alot of the same strains and types of bud in most of the new england states i've been too. Some of the recent bud i've gotten is Afghani, Pot of Gold (some of the buds are purple), Lavender, Sour Diesel, Hashplant, Durban, Several WW and Widow Crosses, Bubblegum, Blueberry and blueberry crosses, Some hash (i've seen two kinds here, both bubblehashes. one was unnamed, the other was trainwreck bubblehash which was very blond and potent as hell), ALOT of good outdoor grown bud that looks exactly the same everytime like said above, alot of beasters (obviously), and ALOT of mids. I never touch mids or beasters, i'd actually resort to schwag/mids before beasters, beasters looks decent bud doesn't smoke any better than schwag. I smoke the mostly good strains with the occasional gram or two of hash when it's available, but occasionally i have to resort to the piney/lemony outdoors, which isn't bad at all because the taste is very good.

Yeah definitly has that piney smell when grinded up..Thing is that batch tasted good with a dry pull but as soon as you sparked it the harshness hit and you got that hot smoke shit mouth taste..In my opinion it wasn't properly cared for, but when they are charging 400$ for an O of that quality nothing suprises me..I personally can not find ''namebrand'' strains that are the actual strain..You usually hear alot about the beasters that were ( I don't know if they still are), going for 300 an O!!! Mids 150-200 an O..Basically those numerous middle men that hurt your pockets..You mention different strains to people they give you that look..Pause..Then respond with..yeah my boy got that sour deisel but '' I think'' and pause so they can come up with an outrageous price, 100$ for 2.0 g's..That was the best one i've heard so far...rediculous..The best way to go is to grow..But in the meantime its nice to score a sack of nugs to chief on once in a while..But no more money wasted on garbage..All I ask for is some dank man...smooth,(well-cured), properly dried,manicured,great tasting,hard-hitting,gemstones...If not, I will go without most definitly...

Yep, you have to know someone you can trust or grow your own. Lots of people will try and sell fake shit, even if the bud isn't the exact strain it's labeled the real important thing is just how good it is. I always make sure i can smoke the bud before i make a purchase, which is possible for me because my connect makes sure i get to try everything several times before hand, no matter how small my purchase is. You gotta know the right people, and you gotta know someone you can trust. Don't deal with dickheads who will fuck you over, it's hard to find a trustworthy dealer but they are out there.
I Never have to pay over $400 an o (except for the trainwreck hash). And i know the quality is going to be awesome every time, haven't gotten a short bag once. Infact most of them are over. All the nugs are fully dried and cured, so a nice plump ounce.
I haven't gotten any strains that weren't properly flushed either, i and my connect can't stand for that shit. Although, keep in mind not all weed is going to have a smooth smoke, even if it's been flushed properly. For example, the afghan and some of the kushes i've been getting have been so covered with resin, it feels like your taking a kief hit. The smoke is very expansive and rough on the lungs, but the bud still has been cured, dried, and flushed properly.
Smell, taste, and look all have things to do with identifying if the bud is cured and flushed properly. The smell should be very fresh but not smell like hay, it should have a very strong fragrant odor with no signs of chemically smell. The taste should have no chemically taste, this can be slightly hard to pinpoint but after smoking lots of bud, i can tell by taste what's been cured and flushed properly. The buds should also be light in color, i've noticed in general the darker and more brownish the buds are usually the more chemically taste they have.
That's why that bud you posted pics of above has a darker brownish color than very good bud would. The weed should burn fully and the ash should be very white if the weed has been cured/flushed properly. If the ash is black or dark grey and has a hard time burning fully then it hasn't been cured/flushed properly. As far as potency and high i make sure they are both fantastic. Potency isn't a huge factor for me, as i focus more on the taste and type of high rather than potency, but potency must still be up there.
I won't touch bud that takes me more than 2 or 3 hits to get me feeling nice. As far as high, i usually only go with bud that has a high that i like. For example, some strains i've tried are very superior in potency but are too strong and couchlocky for me. Make sure you like the type of high before buying the bud, for me a nice relaxing indica/sativa hybrid that isn't too couchlocky or energetic is perfect for me. It's all personal preference. Well, i'm done with my rant lol.

Yeah I know how to judge herb bro..I hear what you're saying though..My views exactly..Sad when I have to resort to spending cash on nugs..My past grows put 99% of bud I have purchased in the hall of shame..Bottom line is,it is a sellers market,and a greedy line of work (for the most part) regardless of risks taken, the 12 middle men need to fuckoff..lol...Just posted what I had at the time..What was ''circulating''..

The reason I ask for ''labeled strains'', is solely because I want to know what type of high im in store for..Characteristics of the high,the comedown (if any) etc..I go as far as asking how many days the strain was recommended for and how long they let it go before the chop..I get that ''Shrug'' and that look..Seems the individuals I come across see it as far too complex..but then again they are selling it for a reason..Also, these type of people aren't the ones to say,'' ok bro try a bud and if you like it come back''..It's what you see is what you get,we don't re-up with that top shelf bud because it is too expensive, cash up front, nothing free, take it or leave it, no hookups..Have to take into consideration that these are also the guys that throw words out there freely such as ''yo this is some good dro'', ''I got that purple haze'' ''Yeah man I had some REAL haze the other day''..If I mention clones they'd probably think i'm asking if they like StarWars..I mean the bud that I posted above was getting called , '' The G Bud ''...Dude said the grower has grown for 18 years..Now from the experience I had with this guys nug, I question his credibility..Some people would be good story writers..For me personally, it is very hard to find another grower for hookups..Can't just go to lowe's garden department and pace back and forth while sayin, Guano!,Calyx!Sativa!Need some!..I know I wouldn't acknowledge it..

Down the coast a bit from you guys, DelMarVa area we're getting pretty much the same things as you, varying in prices from 375 to 500 if you're a moron. Got two and a half zips of an outdoor kali mist blend for 900, two of Super Jack (never heard of it but it floored m e) for 850, two of something called Purple Number Six which is an outdoor stanky little beast with dark purple veins of pistils for 700 and two of OG Kush for 840, which is pretty agreeable at 420 an ounce. I've got a pretty decent connect I guess. he had alot more for grabs but pricier. SSH was 500 a pop, Champagne was 500, and something called 007 that was 450 and looked really interesting. Grabbed an 8th of it from him and wasn't disappointed, it's almost golden in color, smells through walls and kicks me in the teeth. Its nice to have the variety nowadays, when I was growing up it was Kb/m-39/bread'n'butter or whatever, mids and "Orange Crush" once a year, blueberry once every two. I couldn't tell you the amount of strains of seen over the last couple of years but its been awesome.
