Critical+/Purps/GrandDoggyPurps 90 plant SOG

A

Alone

Next run Im using 3gln pots with catchtrays. I already have 80 of them.
Im only gonna use 40 plants next run. 4 wide x 10 long. vegged for 5 weeks. Topped 2x.
This should create a beautiful canopy. 38 will be C+. 1 Fuel and 1 or 2 Cheesedog depending on the sex of the new seedlings.
These plants just got topped for the first time. They will get topped 2 more times before they get flipped.

If this Fuels a male, he's going to a friends house under 2 -150wHPS lamps to pollinate some C+ clones and some Cheesedog clones.
I may even dip into my stockpile of genetics and see what else I can use for these ???? X Fuel crosses. I have a Mass.SuperSkunk x Purps thats the largest yielding plant Ive ever seen. The top cola wieghed 29.3 grams dried and cured. That may be a good one to cross with the Fuel too for yield reasons.

Im very excited about the smells coming from the GrandoggyPurps.
The yield is nice and large as well.
It smells like a candy fart. Very complex and deep.
Just a beautiful plant all around. Structure is gorgeous. In veg and in flower.
Soon becoming a favorite Im sure. The taste must be insanely good.
Another 4 -5 weeks and Ill be able to try it.

The smells coming off my EastCoastPurpleDiesel are insane as well. Afghani/GrapeCandy/Sour. Yuuuuuummmmmmm.......
If I dont get any bagseed from her Ill def revegg it.
Even if its the smallest yielder Ive ever seen.
Just an amazing smell, that is so strong at day 27, I can taste it already.
Ill never find that special (ECSD x ?????) bagseed I used for the mom again, so if Im gonna keep this as special as it is, Ill need to re-vegg or hope for some bagseed. But......

I havent seen 1 seed growing in my garden yet at week 6, so who knows if that Purps hermi pollin was viable or not. I'm looking for any swollen calyxs with a white seam across the length of it, and dont see any yet.
Its been 2 weeks since I started seeing alot of red hairs, so you would think I would see a calyx or two that was seeded, if it got pollinated.....but nothing yet.

The Critical+'s seem to be slower flowering this time, with looser/fluffier flowers and I wonder if I just need to buy 2 brand new 600w hps bulbs. They are kinda on the older side. 8 crops maybe? Or it could be the temps at 82* day/ 78* night for the first 4 weeks that did that.
Not to sure, but they are flowering different than the first crop. Maybe the grow bags stunted them by drying out too much between waterings? Im not too sure. Still got 3 weeks to see what they do. The smell is great still. Too much work with this many small plants.
I need to check them 3x a day to look for the plants that are starting to whither from lack of water. 3 gln pots next for sure.

Who knows. Maybe Ill try a ScrOG with 16 plants in 20 gallon pots. We'll see. I do like bigger, fuller buds at harvest. I got alot of tiny buds this round and I dont like those at all. I truly thought they would be bigger. I def needed to trim a few more lower branches off some of the C+, but this was my first try at a SOG with grow bags and #'s like this. Live and learn. Or should I say, Grow and learn. Still pretty happy with what it looks like so far. Just know it could have been better.

I think it will take the C+'s a full 9 - 9 1/2 weeks to mature.
The Purps should be ready at week 9 - 9 1/2.
The GrandoggyPurps should be ready at week 9 1/2 - 10.

I'm absolutely convinced that fewer plants (32) in 5 gln pots Topped 2x will produce a better yield with much bigger buds.
Next round. I need to get a new place PRONTO! A place with good electric. May have to do 1 more grow here but I dont want too.

Got my friend on board for the seed run. That Fuel is a Male so he will be used big time.
Fuel = Original Diesel#1-a.k.a "DayWrecker" x Chem D bx2.
I feel it will do very well with the Cheesedog. (if I get a female out of these 2 seedlings)
Cheesedog = Exodus Cheese x Chem D.
Cheesedog x Fuel = "Gas Hog". Im thinking great vigor and extreme stench with this cross!

Gas Hog = (Exodus Cheese x Chem D) X (Diesel#1 x Chem D bx2). This sounds awesome!!!
Now I just need the blessing of OJD before I put these on the Bay.
EDIT:::: GOT IT! TYSVM OJD!

Looking quite well there Alone Good job. The end is in sight.
I am with you on less plants a little bigger for better yield.

For sure NEG, and the reason why I say this is because the C+ grows branchy with little stretch. The flower structure is like short round golfball nuggets. If I topped once or twice, the bottom 6 branches would look like tops by the start of flowering.

If I had the time, I would LST the clones and tie them down along the pots rim until they came full circle from stalk to tip, and then I would flip. That might work if I put them in 2gln pots and vegged for 5 weeks while tieing them down, T/P'ed into 5gln pots, vegged for 1 more week, then flipped.
Whats 1 more week veg time if I can increase my chances of finally getting 1gpw.
Im not used to branchy plants so this may work out better.
Which would you do NEG?
The LST thing or topping once or twice and stripping the bottoms? Thanx brother.

I like topping mine at least a couple times to increase the amount of heads and keep canopy even. I use some LST during the veg time. I like to put 2' bamboo stakes around the outside of the pot and pull the branches out to them. This helps get lots of light to the center and down into the plant. I will even cut back the heads that get going to fast to even things out. I am a firm believer in keeping the lights close(less than 9 inches) to the tops. Especially with 400's cause they just do not penatrate that deep.
Hope that is of some help to you.

Heres my 2 C+ mother plants.(from awhile ago, for scale) The short one on the left is what I was thinking about getting my clones to look like next time before the flip.
I would strip all the lowers off of course and the side branches would be more towards the tops. Think this would increase my yield NEG If they looked like this before the flip? I could only do 4 plants wide x 10 or 11 plants long.
I would also have to vegg them under 2 - T5's to get the internode spacing so tight like this.
Ive found that the 600w MH I have with a crappy, old hood w/ no glass or vent holes makes the plants stretch way to much between internodes during early vegg. I cant put it closer than 30 inches from the canopy.

Im buying a second T-5. The T-5's are where its at.
Although the growth in vegg is much slower, it would seem, the end results are fantastic when the plants with very tight internodes are placed under the 600w hps lamps to stretch during transition. More internodes = more budsites. And with the C+ not having much stretch at all to it, and the buds being big and round, This should dial my garden in nicely so I can finally achieve 1gpw. I got the environment perfect. Just need some adjustments with topping and equipment.
The bulb in my right lamp is old and not putting out the lumens like it should. Ill replace it as soon as I can before next run or the move. Whichever road fate leads me down.

I havent found a single calyx that has been pollinated.
Thats great news. Although I still hope there is a few on my ECPD's.
The plants havent stalled. In fact, they are gaining weight and filling in quickly now.

Looking great Alone. I recently started using a 4' 8 bulb t5 for veg. My seed plants were very tight until they started to get over 1.5'. They started to stretch then, but that's when I topped them for clones anyway (I cut them just about in half). Mine actually grew pretty fast for me once they hit the t5, and the stems are monsters.

Bark, Bark for the Grandoggy...looks pretty frosty.
The T-5's I have found to give me super tight nodes up to a certain point of hieght. Then the T-5 can't get in there enough, but by that time, as the poster above said, it's time for flower. I am a fan of longer veg and lower numbers. Thats just me. I find it easier to deal with a few monsters than a room full of little ones.
I would let them get like the 1 on the right but with a more even top. Maybe like 15 heads that are real even. I will take some pics of my current CD and NL grow this eve. Give you an idea of what I have done with them this round.
Looking good man. Beefing up nicely.

Hey there Sir. here are the couple of pics I talked about. I did not think you would mind me posting them. If you do please let me know.
My Chemdog with lots of heads, probably 20 good ones. See that kind of "hole" in the center. Allows some light down inside. Single cola plants might look cool...but they yield for shite...especially with just a couple. Now I am talking about 400 watters here.

The lower staking, 2' bamboo.

Gives you an idea of what I am talking about.
Hope all is well.

Yes. Thats what Im looking for. I want mine to look like that before the flip.
Do you use FFOF soil? How long of a veg time before they look like that?
What size pots?
Thanx NEG! I dont mind you posting at all. Post away brother. Post away.
TYVM.
