Crash When You Quit?

-Don't drink too much
-Try to sleep on a regular schedule
-EAT RIGHT...probably one of the best things you can do for yourself...learn to cook if you have to...if you can grow, you can buy food and cook it
-Get some excercise if you're physically able
-If you're not maintaining a stable or a regular honey, you gotta march the soldier every now and then...but you already know that
-Meditate/breathe/relax/concentrate intently on nothing
-Read something that challenges your thinking machine
-Learn a musical instrument, or another one if you can already play something

A combination of a few or several of these (and MANY more) can have a regulatory, calming effect on your brain, and just might send you in a new direction you never imagined.

:2cents: ....thanks

I think this is the horse to bet on right here.

While I happen to really enjoy my current path, I gotta throw credit to Mr. C for stating what I consider sage advice...moderation.

I'm trying to quit right now. First time I went more than 2 nights without in almost a whole year! I'm having trouble sleeping unless I stay up past 1am. I'm sleepy when I get up. I practice constant mindfulness and that's helping me get over any agitation.

I have been smoking daily for a majority of my life. Ive tried cutting back, stopping for a few days. not really a good idea for me personally. ganja helps me in many ways through out the day. Now dreams. I dream every night, a lot. very vivid, lucid dreams.
I remember dreams from when i was very young to last night. like days in my life. I have insane intense adventures and experiences. If what most of you seem to agree on is true. increases in dream intensity etc. I really cant imagine what would happen. Seriously.

I am on week 3 of abstaining. And the dreams are just getting crazier and crazier. Has there ever been any studies about abstaining and the resulting dreams? If so could you add a link.

What is the biological reasons?

Cannabis is said to effect REM sleep. Be it positive or negative :dunno: Several studies on the matter.

That's why when you take a break dreams are so vivid. REM sleep is the dream state.

I've taken long breaks here and there over 18 years.

My anecdotal evidence (as does sound like yours) bares this to be true.

Wondering if anyone else crashes when they quit smoking (temporarily, of course)? Every year or so, I quit for a couple months, to give my lungs a break ,and clear out my head. I am in one of these phases now until the next harvest. I have the following symptoms when I crash:
extreme fatigue-ready to lie down and fall asleep at any moment.
Extremely frequent & vivid dreams when I am asleep, and I remember them when I wake up.
Stiff and achy joints-cannabis seems to have an anti inflammatory effect on me, making my joints (no, not those joints:)) loose and flexible.
Also, not nearly as horny.

I have noticed this for many years (been smoking for 40).
Anyone else?

have had to quit again while hunting work. everything you say is true. been smoking for 43 years now... damned randoms!

great thread retrogrow, totally agree about the dreaming/or not dreaming .i tend to binge smoke ,also to do with harvesting :)
i find when i am smoking a lot , if i try and do a small job/like fix something . i get to a point where i can not continue ,due to parts or tools .and i just leave it .i know it's still there ,but just do not have the urge to finish it off or make good.
if i drop a plate and it breaks ,sooner than picking it up and putting it in the bin ,i will just work around it ,or even walk over it for a few days .until i am ready to tidy it up.
just to let you all know ,i do not live in an absolute shit hole ,and am quite tidy .but i do not know why i am like this .i do not think i do this when i have not been smoking, not that i have noticed anyhow !

Yeah, procrastination is a main side effect of cannabis.
I put everything possible off 'till tomorrow....but sometimes, tomorrow never comes. I plan on being late for my own funeral. I have a stack of mail here about a couple of months old. Still unopened. Hope it wasn't anything important....
