Really impressive. Those giants remind me of some 12 to 15 foot tall plants I saw in Panama.
I see the vinyl looking sheeting on top, but what kind of cloth is on the sides? Is it shade cloth?
For those of you who are looking for a super sturdy frame, check out all4canopy. You can Google them for their website. They make fittings that allow the use of EMT electrical conduit or chain link fence top pipe. Their fittings are top quality and very strong. I am using one of their frames for a 12' X 20' outdoor grow room.
I use that 6X6 re-mesh on the roof to keep the plastic from sagging when it rains.
I used to be stationed at Marysville when I was in the Air Force and had a girl friend that lived in Sacramento. I was very surprised to find that in the Summer, Sacramento is just as hot as Tucson, Arizona.
Your threads are inspirational and I'm sure many readers have decided to emulate your methods.
I am a Mexican sativa lover, but after smoking some Purple Urckle, both of those will be in my outdoor grow room next year.
PS - Some of the plastic finally ripped on my roofing in the GH. Got a new roll I'm putting up right now. Added Duct tape where I make the holes so it won't rip as easy when tied to the frame with zip ties.
Do you have any tips on how to make the 6mil plastic a more stable roof?
Have you tried measuring those monsters every day? Sometimes when they are that big they can grow 2 inches in a single day. I don't know about indica, but the sativa I have grown big do a big growth spurt when they are flowering.
doublejj and Durdy, have you seen these panels? http://www.farmwholesale.com/panels.php3 It seems to me that they would eliminate all the problems with plastic sheeting.
I am building an outdoor grow room using a steel canopy frame, 12' X 20' with 6" X 6" re-mesh and tan shade cloth sides for plenty of ventilation. I was going to use the 6" X 6" re-mesh and 6 mil plastic sheet for a roof, but I think these panels would be better than the plastic sheeting. The Arizona cooks any kind of clear plastic and makes it brittle. No matter what kind of clear plastic sheeting I use, it has never even lasted a full Summer. The sun cooks it and the wind shreds it.
The Medijuana seeds were a gift from another grower. I don't know where he got them. The started to flower about 6 weeks ago.
In the past I would do a 50/50% veg/bloom for 2 weeks when I first see flowers. But this years dirt mix has kept them much greener, so I just switched after I could see actual flowers.
