Coronavirus.. outlook

Gold is up a percent in futures and s & p is down over 1%. Thinking of shorting the market from here but already some or all? of the drop has occurred.

I was scratching my head at the market being positive for so long with the virus running around. I do not consider myself smarter than the market but it appears I was in this case. Nasdaq or tech futures are down quite a bit, China being where all the hardware is built.

I know, bad form to count dollars while bodies pile up.

It's all right. It's harder for the markets to be dishonest when the China manufacturing machine is running at 1/2 speed.

Gold was all over at the open, down $200 then up $20, 1%.

Fluctuations like that are fairly normal for gold at market open.

good time to do a re-fi for people considering that, other than being reamed in fees by the bank. I was thinking about writing the bank president and asking them, instead of charging $5K in fees for a $110 re-fi, could there be another way.

the re-fi cost is the same for a small re-fi as for a big re-fi.

^^ Gold was down $200? really? I use investing.com. Lots of comments there I like to read. No real wizards of predicting anything but some useful info and lots of laughs to be had.

This is gonna hit Korea, Vietnam etc. too. Lots of money is going to be lost before this virus is contained or burnt out.

They are not allowing Health Provides in the US to test anyone that:

A) Hasn't just returned from China

B) or Been in direct contact with a Confirmed case

Its already here. They weren't concerned about this or testing when it broke out. It was nearly 6 weeks later that they started monitoring inbound travel and that was 2 weeks after China started reacting.

Stocks are down in futures well over 2%. Gold is approaching it's all time high.

My anxiety about this is rising quick. I am quite sure now this is gonna be quite bad, but not Spanish Flu territory. Not sure if shorting the market is behind the curve now, or much more of this to come.

Wish I did not have to work now, as I come into contact with lots of people. I would hide in my house if given the choice. Not sure it will affect my general area but not confident at all it will not. Socal is prime breeding ground for stuff.
