Releasing an unrelentingly bleak survival prognosis for the planet now, could push large numbers of unstable people close to the ragged edge of homicidal madness, whereby extreme behavior could be triggered by the smallest of provocations, literally anywhere.

With no real handle on the exact percentage of the population that might be prone to losing their marbles under sustained stress, bad news would need to be served up incrementally and with great caution by government agencies worldwide, so as not to induce widespread despair that could spontaneously degenerate into violent scenes of utter pandemonium.

In other words, intoning the calming mantra of "Don't worry, be happy", is a viable alternative to being overly truthful with a population already under extreme duress.

Somebody needs to provide the sane people with plenty of strong LsD and squirt guns.

People can and do get truely freaked out. I am sadly pretty well awoken to the deep BS that is going on, and have been for about 15 years. That only made me not invest in the stock bubble, and have a cynical attitude. The bastards have kept on doing what they want, and i cannot change it. So I try to just live with the fact that the works is fucked, liberty is dead, and just pursue life and happiness.

A dude blew through the little shithole bar Friday with a Martin guitar, and he could pick. They let him come in next night and play, so I head down there last night to hear. During a break I whup out a doob of Royal Wedding, take a hit or two and hand him the joint to keep (new wuflu joint protocol). He is glad cause he can't find good dope hits half, and saves some. I keep my mouth shut and agree, good dope is hard to find.

So I ask him what he is doing around the area, cause i have never seen him before. Dude goes into a tirade about conspiracies, and how he arrived to join a group of like minded people in some kind of survival community. He said those people were not ready for the disaster coming, and he had to split. He got his head all messed up, to the point of forgetting the songs when he came back in to play another set.

LOL. I like to think it may have partly been the doob...

Interesting times. "May you live in interesting times" is an old Chinese curse.

Agree with that!

A few weeks ago a fight broke out in front of my home..over an beer.

They rolled on to my property and one of the fighters grabbed my plastic solar light and started stabbing the other fighter..

Beer got spilled.. left the can in the street.

This covid 19 is challenging.. hope we find an cure.

Thank the heavens that they didn't pick up a garden gnome! Clearly background checks on solar lights are the obvious next step :D

Felony Possession of an Unregistered Solar Lighting Fixture could very well make entry into the criminal code at some point, if a rash of similar copycat attacks occurs during these uncertain times.

On a serious note, I'd rather take my chances trying to fend off blunt force trauma from a garden gnome in the wrong hands, than face frenzied lunges by a deranged gentleman wielding an alarmingly pointed solar lighting bracket, all things considered.

So his hero Vladimir Zelenko, his “recent studies to be published soon” saw that “hospitalization and deaths could go down 84%”. What is this based on? The cocktail he used at his family practice? I shouldnt even have to state why there are challenges here.

He claims other countries used this cocktail and saw the major decrease in numbers we arent seeing. He is failing to mention how much harder they locked down. That leaves a huge huge hole in that theory. Was it the cocktail? Which countries used it? Proof? Which mattered more their treatment or locking down?

He is the director of medical treatments of a nursing home, he then says with the cocktail “most recovered” what happened to his prior claim of no deaths? Did some not recover? That seemed shady. I get its a nursing home and people die from other stuff. Its just interesting how he doesn't go into that.

He thinks we should risk sending the kids back to school, the other guy who also is maskless within a very close proximity says “we know who is vulnerable”. I call bullshit. I know 30 year olds who have been on ventilators. My friends best girlfriend lost both of her otherwise healthy parents to covid and they were in their 50s.
-Onto the children, they are being hospitalized at an increasing level. In ca, az, fl, il and many other states they have seen over 10000 child covid cases. 8.4% of all cases.
88,103 new child cases reported from 7/9-7/23 (200,184 to 288,287), a 44% increase in child cases. 0.8% of cases resulted in death. We have 20 states that havent seen a child die from it yet. There are 50 states dude. So that means we have lost at least that many children. One is too many. 100s are far too many and considering the spike in their overall cases why on earth would we send them back to school. Its a selfish idea. I know the point that they are losing social interactions and the education could be compromised from at home. Spare me. Were talking about parents who could lose their children forever.

The navy dude mentions “why should we lock down healthy people?”. This has me furious because its so so obvious at this point and how far we've come. Because people are asymptomatic spreading the disease unknowingly. My good God man. We DONT KNOW everyone who is sick!!! What the hell man!? How can someone even ask this question anymore? We did it wrong. We locked down but nothing compared to other countries especially the EU. Italy warned us. Trump didnt listen. Italy is way ahead of us when it comes to recovering from this. Its embarrassing and its why you and I cannot go to Europe. Trump held a rally and people died from going and not wearing a mask. He should be locked up for that alone. Good thing he put out that covid warning to cover his ass.

Toward the end he claimed that with this cocktail we could see as few as 7000 deaths in the future. Based on WHAT? His rural practice and his friend Vlad? Im sorry man, there are SO many holes in this. Seems very biased and with one single graph as evidence. All these “studies” and predictions dont mean squat without true evidence. Words are just words until you make them materialize.

Instead of asking “why all the lies” one should ask “is this true”. Being easily convinced is a symptom of the mindless.

No shit, they banned Shaggy? WTF?

I may be next, because my guess is this will be snuck through with an appropriations bill or something like the free moolah extension bill.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Model_State_Emergency_Health_Powers_Act#Draft

Maybe the feds think thay already have the power, like dershowitz thinks they do. these kind of people scare me:

Attorneys Jason W. Sapsin, Stephen P. Teret; Scott Burris, Julie Samia Mair, James G. Hodge Jr, Jon S. Vernick and Gostin wrote in an article in the August 2002 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Assn., that "Provided those powers are bounded by legal safeguards, individuals should be required to yield some of their autonomy, liberty, or property to protect the health and security of the community

Had USA listened, got a federal guideline vs. leaving it to individual states to procure supplies, decide on COVID guidelines, we might have fared better.

Italy did it right, for sure. Strict rules, stay at home orders. EVERYONE in masks.

COVID will continue to spread, largely due to ignorance and insolence/defiance. IDIOCY KILLS. And DJT, a little too late to the party.

European bastard here.. Sweden

I don't think you can just wantonly assume the title of "bastard" without the mandatory public seal of approval to authenticate that status.

I speak from experience as a recipient of this prestigious title, courtesy of various car drivers over the years, whenever I forgot to use my turn signal.

That being said, I will refrain from invoking the name of Big Don in this response, as a generous courtesy for which you now owe me a beer or two, when next I am in Sweden.

Don’t worry about Grandma, dying alone in the nursing home. She has dementia and is scared, but she surely understands. It’s for the greater good.

Don’t worry about losing your business, the dream business that you opened with a second mortgage on your house... oh, and don’t worry about losing your house. It’s for the greater good.

Don’t worry about your child’s depression because she can’t figure out how to navigate the online classes and she misses her best friend. It’s all for the greater good.

Don’t worry about your Aunt who can’t get treatment for her cancer. Her sacrifice is saving lives...just not hers. It’s for the greater good.

Make sure you call CPS on your neighbor for letting her kids go outside to play! Don’t worry when the stranger takes her kids while they cry out for their momma. It’s all for the greater good.

Don’t worry about the looters and people burning down your town. They’re peaceful. It’s all for the greater good.

It's Shakesperian the way you quasi intelligent people here admitted that if the "EXPERTS" told you to stick your head up your ass to stop the spread , you would do it :biglaugh:

actually, chump was already there, dressed in his clown suit, ready to "lead" when the party of idiocy got rolling. he has NEVER been late to stupidity...

And Dr. Birx never defied him, never corrected his ill logic. Pence/Birx were in tandem on COVID task force. Like rowing a boat in circles seeing the island in the distance. Meanwhile more deaths, more cases.

Knucklehead....NOPE It's Shakesperian the way you quasi intelligent people here admitted that if the "EXPERTS" told you to stick your head up your ass to stop the spread , you would do it Nope....it's science based. Funny how the nay sayers have little/no medical or even science expertise.

Congress stimules update covid 19 help?

Slow, grinding negotiations on a huge COVID-19 relief bill are set to resume, but the path forward promises to be challenging. Both the Trump administration negotiating team and top Capitol Hill Democrats reported progress over the weekend even as they highlighted their differences.

Ahead of Monday's talks, all sides predict a long slog ahead despite the lapse of a $600-per-week supplemental COVID-19 jobless benefit, the beginning of school season and the call of lawmakers' cherished August recess. Several more days of talks are expected, if not more.

As far as other countries.. post up what your leader's are giving proposing...
