yeh nice lab and nice bird. i bougt my setter a few years ago as my first gun dog. i never expected this dog to go poker straight and stiff in the pressence of birds like he did. i never hunted over a pointer so the first time two years ago was a learning experiance. he goes like a tornado throught the cover but at the scent of game birds he stops on a dime and locks up. i luaghed my ass off the first time he did it. just soo odd to see a dog act like that. compared to my boxers this dog always has one thing on his mind and thats birds and hunting with me. we call him Lovely Lou.. or Bubba Lou...lol
Tic - let me try, those were .bmp which I converted to jpegs. I'll see if I can increase the size, can't get to it till after the weekend though - going canoeing/camping in a little bit actually. He's a funny little shit. He's a bit bigger now, almost a year, and is a major head. Anytime I am blazing up he comes in the room meowing all loud, getting up close - I really believe he loves it. He's eaten 4 clones in his life so far too! 
The last time I harvested he was pawing and meowing at the closet where the bud was drying!!!
Mass - it's really cool to see them point. I like pointers too. Of course my boy is a flusher so I gotta keep him tight, but he's fine with it cause he doesnt like to get too far away from me. Now my one buddy he has an English Setter that does pretty well, he'll take off running at first but as soon as he calms down he is $$$. He'll hold a bird FOREVER. I know what you mean with the pointers, they'll be trotting along pretty fast and then BOOM!, they twist or tweak out right on something in the brush, locked dead on - it's a beautiful sight my friend. We get them out there together, usually it's tough with a flusher and a pointer - but they seem to be an OK team. Some other guy shows up with a bunch of English Setters too. It's cool to watch them work, they are pretty well trained and will respect each other's points, do backing, the whole nine yards... This guys goes every weekend though, he's the owner of the grounds. Pretty Sweet.

alot of rescues it seems.. good stuff.. I gotta throw in please get your pets fixed.. there are enough dogs and cats running the streets and in the pounds allready.. nothing against the great pure breeds, but always go to the pound first.. you may find a great pet without dropping 100s..
ps.. it is nice to see some sport dogs still get used as such.. they love to work...

what gorgeous animals! I can't even mention all of the ones I found irresistible....they run the gamut from lizards to puppies to kitties to fish! I love this contest Dutch, don't have any pets but I stop by just to check out everybody else's
