hahah I love it when people get worked up over others expecting proper grammar and spelling. Why does that get to you so much? I agree that English may not be everyone's first language, but you can usually tell if it's a case of English not being their first language and when it comes from a lifetime of poor grammar.
I also am not talking about rushed typing, since that's just rushed typing.
I also am not talking about the posts on these forums as I am expecting half of you to be as baked as I am when posting/reading here. Though for some reason, I watch what I type more when I am baked.
I'm talking about seeing this kind of thing pop up on office memos, resumes, English papers, official documents, books, etc. Language is an art. I enjoy doing graffiti. But if I did it poorly, others would say "Damn, that is ugly. Dude got no skills." Same with using language properly. I mean, if you're trying to get your point across to someone, it's a lot more difficult when the person can't see you. You can't use inflection, you can't use hand gestures, so all you have is your words. So you have to be kind of exact. Otherwise, it's like listening to tech support help old people with their computers: "Okay, click the colory thing by the doohickey in the start button menu."
I guess the other reason is that I am a coder, so I think in code. And if you're writing a program without any coding skills, you will end up with a syntax error. So I guess I am always seeing things built up by their parts. It's the same with sentences. And it's like looking at ugly code when I see poor grammar or sentence structure.
Sorry, but it's a pet peeve...especially when you see it coming from adults acting in some sort of official capacity. (As in, not here on the forums) What's sort of funny is that in regular speech, as in day to day conversations, the only thing that bugs me is when people let their hillbilliy flag fly. Yall, yonder, do what, mawmaw. memaw... shit like that. Sorry if I offended any hicks
