I thought that alot of lumens woudl increase the clone growth but not their Root growth which is ultimatly what I want

Thundurkel do you think that that much lighting will cause the plants to not grow roots? (i know this must be a pretty noob question)

I've been following his thread since it started over at GC and that much light will be fine and should not stop roots from growing. How big is your box? Whats your strain ect.

the box is 15in x 15in x 36 in... its the same size as my flowering but will only hold moms and clones... the seeds are mexican bagseeds... they are from a schwag bag, but my friend grew them out and they are beautiful he gifted them to me

Do moms and clones let off smell? ( i know some of it is strain dependant) because i'm thinking about skimping on a carbon scrubber for this room... lemme know appreciate your help thunder

Youre right about the smell depends on the strain cuz my Big Bud clone smelled from the day I got her when she was 2 inches and my Alaskan Thunderfuck is 4 weeks into flowering and just now starting to smell but it's more fruity and you have to stick your face in it. Weird thing is, my Alaskans have more crystals than Ive seen before 4 weeks into flowering and the Big Bud had little at 4 weeks and stank!!!! so it depends. I would recomend putting you light fixture on something that can lower the lights to be closer cuz 36 inches is pretty far. My cab is 28 T 16 w 14 d and I keep my lights within 6 inches...

Dr.Bud I'm doing a similar SOG setup to yours except with one lone 150W HPS and I was curious how you deal with the foliage? I'm starting the perpetual now so I don't have the max number of plants in yet but they're already competing for room. I saw in one of your pictures you've got it setup so that the Soda containers actually touch (I use Arizona Ice Tea cans) but won't the fan leaves of each plant push into the nearby territory of others and thus actually hinder how much light each plant gets? I was thinking about chopping the fan leaves but I know the plants take nutrients from the leaves and push them into the buds in the last few weeks of flowering.

how does the sealed tupperware work for keeping humidity? how much water do you start with in there to get it 100% humid; or just leave alittle bowl with some inside? you open it once a day and that's it?

It is only this Pheno.....

Everything else I grow takes 3 weeks or more.
It's not me it's the plant......I had one other that re-veged almost as fast but was never as Strong as Chesaw

Is the chesaw's ability to reveg so fast something u bred for or something u got by accident because the plant is so sensitive to the change in light. sorry i'm blanking on the term for this.

also, in one of ur posts u talk about 9.75 hours of light and then a full day of darkness. can u explain that again slowly. lol u saying that u were giving them 9.75/9.75 instead of 12/12???

DrGB i had a question about soil capacity. when growing in small containers, is the volume of soil more important, or the depth of the container? could/would i get better results using a shorter wider container with more overall volume or a narrower taller container {like your bottles} with less overall volume. i am very heigh restricted in my cab. 21 inches total, so about 18 inches after the light. and thats not including the height of the container i grow in.


actually i just read this entire thread, and it seems depth is the key! man you are awesome.

can anyone recomend a good "live" soil mix. i live in the desert there isnt anything naturally alive out here. typically i use fox farms ocean forest and add 30% perlite to it. do i need to add anything else to my soil to make it extra bad ass?

lastly DrBG i have plenty of 12vdc 35watt 4300k {3200 lumen} HID bulbs and ballast. tell me somewhere to send them and they are yours for the asking! no idea if they would work or not, but if anyone can make shit happen it would be you. just a small offering for all your great information.

I'll hammer this until it goes in solid for everyone.... Ya can't beat a properly run bubble cloner for fast roots and 98%+ success rates.

No domes.. no misting... no nutes... no long waits for roots... just roots in 3-5 days (10 days for stubborn strains) and BANG! You're off.

If you have issues with this...hrmm.. I'll be able to PM soon... or maybe I should just write up a tech???

There're just a couple of things that you need to keep in mind with bubble cloners and your results will always be great!
