Compact SOG with CFL's

DrBud, what about HID growing? I know you aren't using HIDs atm, but what would someone wanting to do this same style grow with a smaller (<= 250watt) CMH or HPS have to keep in consideration?

wow! This is the most amazing thread i have ever read! it has completely changed the way I think about growing MJ. Thanks so much for sharing it with all of us to learn from. You are such an inspiration.

OK dont be harsh on me please :p Im very new grower for sure, and I do plan on being one like you Ol'Timers as you say Dr.Bud :p I love smoking the MJ and I will rest of my life for sure :p And as for paying for it... ya right lol Not gona waste my money when I can spend a decent penny ONCE and have it free forever :p

But OK Iv just read the past 10 pages of this thread and probably the first 2... But i missed the part about timing schedule...

I do Hydro because its less mess IMO and easier for me to just deal with water and some buckets and hoses.

But onto the LIghting... Iv seen your cab and I saw it with the 5 lights and with the different lights showing the difference with warm and cool and mixed...

Mind explaining your light sched in that cab? Is it always 12/12 and you just start all clones on 12/12 which allows you to harvest to frequently...? Because I think this thread has just completely changed my mind on how im going to do my new grow setup..

For what im thinking.. currently IM going to have a MOTHER plant in a MAIDTUB for clones, ill have a
400watt HPS
and
400watt MH

Going to do a recirculating hydro setup...

but If i can just use smaller buckets say maybe only 6inchers then I can
have a shit load more in the area i have to work with and will for sure pull way more bud since each plant will literally be 1 big bud :p

I would probably be able to fit 2 bucket wide wise.. and probably... 12-16 buckets long.
so 24-32 plants total maybe more...

So not to be rude or anything not trying to hijack a thread with 18+ pages HAHAH
but how exactly would I got about doing this to be able to harvest ... 2-4 plants a week? Would i have to just start 2-4plants 1 week then another 2-4 next week and so on? .. Or.. just start THEM ALL then just once they about near harvest time JUST harvest 2-4 then add 2-4 new ones and let rest go, so that the last 2-4 from the start will have much more time on there grow but then once those are done the cycle is pretty much set?

many questions i know :p im just very interested :p

I'm trying to do the same thing but using 12 clones in 1l bottles in 22gal rubbermaid tubs...Dr greengenes harvests 3 a week because he puts 27 clones in 20oz soda bottles cut to 16oz in a 2sqft space. You need a clone/mom box (20 or 24 hr light) and a flowering box (12/12). Put in 3 rooted clones every week for 9 weeks and if you can keep up with the clones you'll eventually harvest 3 plants a week :lurk: A staggered sog is only way to maintain a true perpetual harvest :listen2:

ahh thanks 250wscrogger totally answered my question perfectly :p Just what I needed to know the...

You need a clone/mom box (20 or 24 hr light) and a flowering box (12/12).

So Now i know that Im going to have to get another rubbermaid to hold the clones, since I have one already for the mother and the rest of the area is all 12/12 probably area... 7'(l) x 3-3.5'(w) x 3-3.5'(h)

just go to a hydro store and order a humidity dome for clones. i got mine from a hydro store for like $3.50 total lol. Works great!

DrGreengenes, I applaud you. You accomplish exactly what I want to accomplish. Perfecting yourself, as well as your strain :0) I wish there were more growers out there like you left!!! Great grow, great show, and great dope :O I really like the heritage line you got going there. It's as if you were trying to mimic the haze brothers, in getting a world wide strain goin! Another thing I hope to one day soon accomplish :0)

Hey Doc do you think i'd be able to use those little 20 oz bottles under 1k HPS? If so i'd really like to give this a try in a 5x5 Closet i should be able to fit over 200 in 20oz bottles, right?

Could you use 2x600 HPS? I only say this because it would be almost 50wpsf and you could lower the one light if need be since you will have plants of all different ages (assuming you will be following his same method)

I kinda already have a 1k Hps that i just bought and its currently flowering a few C99's but i'd like to try the C99's and my Skunk #1's in this method. I've only been growing for a couple months and im just trying to find a style that would suit me. This seems to be great. If i can use a 5x5 room i'll just put the newer clones off in the corner where the light is a little dimmer and have the older plants in the brighter areas or maybe i could set the light further to one side of the room so that one side is way brighter than the other.

Dunno but i already have the 1k so i just want to make good use of it because i have 6 C99's and a skunk #1 in flowering right now in 3 gallon buckets and i probably still wont yield half of what the Doc yields in 9 weeks. So as soon as these others finish i'd like to start putting as many clones under the 1k as possible. I'll start some of them off under cfls until they get growing well then i'll transport them to the closet with the 1k. Just want to know if the brightness and heat of the light, could possibly damage the roots or not in those little bottles. If so i'll just go up to one gallon grow bags.

If I had a 1000w hps and a 5x5 flowering room I would just fit as many 1 gallon pots as possible and sog it. Are you planning on staggering the harvest or just doing all clones at the same time? Either way you do it, you should be able to get a couple p's off that setup no problems :rasta: once you get it dialed in :canabis: Just make sure the clones are well rooted when they go into flower and dont keep the light too close when they're still small.

people will always talk... everyone is a human with a human mind. human minds can do great things. ol' timers know exactly how a plant reacts because they have the time and knowledge invested from so many years. in my culture one always respects elders. asking questions and perpetually learning from an elder.

in my first grow i have had all kinds of criticisms. until i finish my own cab and setup im not even going to post anything anymore. the impossible is always possible for the human mind.

dr. bud you seriously are an inspiration living up on that moment dialing numbers like you are. all the chronicon council talks shit minus me. they say it isn't possible. i am seeing some crazy results with cfl's over the results ive seen with HPS. im going to hps soon because i like the penetration but ill always have cfls in my garden.

the future is cfls...

i found the perfect containers for this style of growing.. 7-11 double big gulp cups.. 64oz and nice straight sides.. tall and narrow for a deeper tap root. only problem is i asked the guy at 7-11 if i could buy a stack and he wouldnt let me for some reason, if anyone knows where i can get a stack of 64 oz cups similar to double big gulp cups please let me know.

any new pics for us DR?

My girlfriend said that she was in 7-11 the other day and they were transitioning from the old double gulp cup to the new one which is much thinner than the old one and shaped differently as it tapers more at the bottom. Practically garbage.

Doctor, I have a question for you:

Can Mycorrhizas be found without paying? I have a natural forest behind my house. The soil is rich with natural nutrients that have been decaying for hundreds of years. Would using this dirt give me a chance to randomly get this Mycorrhizas bacteria to grow on my roots?

Once it warms up I'll be using dirt from the forest again, using some organic soil form the store right now.

Another question, does anyone put alive worms in their dirt? Anyone experienced with worms please fill me in.

Thank you in advance
