yeah thats what i was thinking... They act like they are trying to help and they are not.
So fucked up... Well they are not trying to help the patient or the grower just line their pockets..

"Instead of having a certain number of MMJ centers in every community that they can oversee and that are regulated, they tried to disperse them into tens of thousands of small neighborhood grows across the state that they couldn't regulate.
He failed to see that A20 wants Tens of thousands of home grows in Colorado that cant be easily regulated..

Earlier today, it seemed like HB 1284, the bill to regulate the medical marijuana industry, had cleared its highest hurdles.

But more obstacles lie ahead. Today, Charlotte Jackson, assigned to the legislative bill room at the state capitol, confirms that the House rejected the changes to HB 1284 made by the Senate on its third reading of the measure. Now, a special committee must be formed to work out the differences between versions from the two chambers by midnight tomorrow, when the session ends.

Hopefully it will get held up past mid-night and will go away! One can be wishful, right?

I'm guessing most of us want it to be tied up in Committees before it gets pushed through and then gets tied up in the Courts.

The lawyer says, "The lawsuits won't stop the law, and they will take years to work their way through the courts."

So we better hope the thing just dies and goes away. There's not going to be any injunction like when the Health Dept decided Caregivers had to provide extra services. These people, the Colorado State Congress, have the right to make laws, and once they do, they will be laws, rightly or wrongly.

Green - I wish your little Sig thingy about Capitalism said "Corporatism Sucks!" Then we would be in agreement! I think at heart we're all Capitalists, or we'd just be happy living under a bridge giving our possesions to whomever we happened to meet.

We sent this out to our clients a few hours ago:

The House rejected proposed Senate changes to 1284. The bill now will go to committee to see if they can reach an agreement within the next 24 hours. If there is no agreement by Friday, this gets put off until next year. So you know, the AG and Governor are saying that if 1284 fails, they will consider that an indication that the State legislators do not think that dispensaries should exist and would thus consider that a green light to shut down all dispensaries within the next few weeks. We will see if they are just blowing smoke.

I thought the recess started tomorrow? Can they extend the session until Friday? Or is it exempt from the session because it's in Comittee?

This is why everyone thinks they are on the side of the dispensaries because they dont see it as big business and all that.. They think they are Just fighting law enforcement..

Its crazy how this was spun..

I think they technically have until midnight Friday, but it sure seems like they make this procedural stuff up as they go along. My understanding is that the sticking point is over disclosure of the grow sites to the general public. Senate wants it secret, House law enforcement and Governor want it public. The news has done a great job of making growers look like sex offenders over the last few days. Ie. the "danger" that is our grow ops must be disclosed to the general public to protect the children!

Nah, we are not at heart Capitalists, we are animals, we can work together in "packs" or we can be in fight or flight mentality, survival mode, which is where capitalism puts us. Of course we don't want to live under a bridge giving our possessions away, but you have to acknowledge that you are only here for so long, and the possessions you have aren't going with you. They will most likely be here long after you are gone (unless it was made in China). We all want the house and the car and the dog with a big backyard...or whatever, our toys, etc, but I feel we can still have this without a need for a monetary system governed by the banks, taxed by the government.

Huh? You lost me....

The news is only reporting two sides of the argument Basically saying we need HB 1284 to make Dispensaries legitimate.
And Law enforcement saying if it doesn't pass they will shut all the dispensaries down.

Makes people want the dispensaries over none.
