Colorado House Bill 1284

C

cannagirl

But that doesn't mean I don't have a "dog in the fight;" all us cannagraphers should stick together and have an interest in medicinal cannabis legislation throughout the world

When we let petty squabbles about geography and regional pride keep otherwise like-minded communities apart, we are easily divided and conquered, as WE have been with hb1284. Image what might have been possible if the Colorado patient community had more support from patients all over the world...

Blaming cannagraphers from a certain region distracts us from the real problems, such as greed. As greenmopho said somewhere a few pages ago, the real problem is people who love money more than cannabis, and that's a sickness that knows no boundaries.

Shalom

Thats right, I rep'ed him, his words could not be more true!

I'll tip my hat to you as a cannagrapher :tiphat: but corporate dispensaries and their lobbying money are not welcome in my home state. Neither are their politics or their plans to monopolize on the the Colorado cannabis economy.

If you think you have a dog in this fight than pick up your phone and make some calls with us to try and stop this thing.

 Must spread reps!!!

Does anyone have the current language of the 2 year residency clause?

Shit is infuriating but Warren Edson said they'll be sued over this clause and that there's no history of an industry being Statist. Shit's unconstitutional, now my only question is how long will it take for this litigation to get settled...I was planning on driving out Saturday and looking for an apartment. This has become one heck of a legislative nightmare for me.

The way I read it, is out of state folks are fucked. Unless they were smart enough to establish residency by 12-15-09, they can't be an owner, employee, etc. They probably can be a stockholder so they can back-door in, but otherwise...

This bill is non-sensical, I honestly think the intent was to destroy as many MMJ businesses as possible.

This is UNCONSTITUTIONAL!!!11 You guys its obvious that this bill is in direct violation of AMENDMENT 20 the amendment that the VOTERS OF THE STATE APPROVED. If we let these fascist representatives pass THEIR bill, ALL OF OUR RIGHTS AS PATIENTS ARE PWNT!
Seriously we cannot let this bill just pass right in front of our faces.

I understand that some people are concerned about dispensary's in their area, this will only create more.

The only way to solve everybody's problem is to remove the plant cap for patients and allow open cultivation. Imagine if every patient in Colorado where allowed to grow as much medicine as they needed in a single outdoor season. Then we wouldn't have to worry about dispensary's or overpriced medicine

...shit...I'm screwed...felony 20+ years ago...for growing!!!

Well you're not screwed if you're a caregiver (other than the 5 patient cap) since its been over 5 years, but as far as being a part of a dispensary yea. I'm in the same boat, felony 17 years ago for selling weed.

Regardless this particular part of the bill is completely unconstitutional. Article 7 section 10 of the Colorado Constitution clearly states that all rights of citizenship are restored once someone completes their sentence, which makes the lifelong ban on drug felons unconstitutional. As a matter of fact felons were allowed to have firearms in Colorado until the Brady Bill was enacted. There has since been an amendment added barring felons from firearms, but this bill does not amend Article 7 section 10.

No worries about the felonies....ive got a few and we just put the business in my wifes name. The dispensary "rents space" from her business to grow in. Same money, just legal.

If your felonies are marijuana related, you can sue the state over this, especially if its possession or cultivation. You are only really fucked if you have a violent offense or a non-marijuana drug crime.
