I wouldn't go east of Denver unless ALL you plan on doing is growing weed. There isn't SHIT going on out there but farming and agriculture. I am very biased towards having some topography right around though. The air itself can even smell like cow shit without any cows in sight (this was farther east though around Burlington). Too flat, windy, farmy for me at least. 
Honestly if y'all are serious about moving for the sake of growing weed I would be looking into the Western Slope area. I feel like there is more in the way of outdoors stuff to do, biking, fishing, climbing, hiking, camping - Not to say this can't be the said for the majority of the state but if you're trying to have your pot brownie, AND eat it too...

I love chaffee co, salida is a great town that I know for sure has 12 plant per home limit, but the town is really really really small and more peeps live outside than in.... kinda tough to find a spot to rent tho, but I DO love the ark valley.
It runs deeper than that. Caregivers have the right to do what they do within the limits of safety & common sense. It's not just a legal issue, but rather a a constitutional issue in the state of CO. It's not a right if there's no reasonable place where you can do it legally.
The authorities know they're skirting the state constitution when they make it impossible- they also know caregivers don't have the means to fight them, as well.
It's been a standard "Conservative" tactic for decades, whether talking about how much lawn you need to have or getting an abortion in Texas.

Aurora has a square footage rul . 150 sq ft used for medical marijuana is all that's allowed....paid the fine...1,035$ for using 230 sq ft. There's also a smell ordinance.....

They used an odor violation excuse if I had to make a guess... "I smell somethin funny, mind if I come in and look around?" shit... an officer can use odor to obtain a warrant still... legal or not.

Ah, thanks Seaf0ur, that makes good sense. Even if not what happened here, it is likely the reason they have such a ridiculous ordinance in the first place. Hate it when I'm naive and miss the point of government BS.

I'm not so sure about that. The smell of marijuana is perfectly legal in CO because it's perfectly legal to smoke & grow marijuana on your own property.
I don't think that an anonymous complaint quite rises to the level of a warrant unless you're reeking out the neighborhood. OTOH, It's smart to act like it is illegal just to avoid the bullshit. Saving money not using odor control isn't smart.
They got a warrant or they just bluffed their way in?
From my recollection, first they knocked on the door for an hour, left a card, and came back with a warrant... it was based on an officer that was peeking in his backyard window and his dog came out barking.... She said something along the line of it smelled so strong that it simply couldn't be within legal limits based off her expert opinion... we were actually in the process of moving plants to another location whilst they were knocking... I was not in the house at that time personally but the house was not empty... we had everything out by the time they came inside... but he still got the odor violation and some "dangerous dog" type hassle cause the officer lied about being in his backyard windows and said the dog came off his property at her... which all in turn caused some homeowners association violation of their "covenant" because he paid the cities odor violation ticket... which paying it was technically an admission of guilt ... its all up in the air at this point but there's nothing growing on there anymore and its still chapping his ass.

They came due to my ignorance, something that won't happen again....that was 2 years ago...still here...they actually pat me on the back and said "keep up the good work, we haven't seen a room this good in a couple years" haven't bothered me since....

They actually came because I lost my keys and broke into my own house...neighbor called because he heard someone breaking in...came to the house, had probible cause to search. Took samples and came back a week later with a warrant....36 plants is the limit, 18 on each side...I know this for a fact and extended plant counts don't count unless you can back it up and fight it....
