Source for organic living soil

Source for organic living soil

I have just learned of the organic living soil method and after checking out this sweet thread regarding it. thread https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=217957

I now seek to learn and use this method- I hope that you may have a source of obtaining the ingredients to make or already have a batch they could donate or barter- thanks so much! d

That is beautiful looking to me StrainMan.

Do you grow many Kush types? The reason i ask is that i have been looking for over a year for any source of something called "Bubba Kush Black Pheno" by a guy on utube but have never seen any listing of that name in seedbay. I am wondering if it is even possible to get seeds like that or if it was just a 1 of a kind thing. Maybe it goes by a different name???

Thank you for any help in pointing me toward it.

hey thanks for responding. I pretty much need every thing. I have seen a few recipes, asking for a nudge and cup of this or that. ya know I hate to go purchase all the stuff need when i only need small amounts per batch. I'm pretty technical etc- just looking for some guidance on how to and or possibly a source for living soil. Thanks again, d

This is why I always wanted to start a grow store with a Bulk section!

It pays to buy the whole box even if you only need a cup or two, because you'll probably want to start a few batches at once to avoid the 30-90 day window it takes for the soil to "cure"/cook.

If you've never worked with living soil before, this is a good basic starting point: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1346683146.904807.jpg

It is definitely not an advanced level book, and I generally don't recommend it UNLESS someone is coming to organics from a hydro background, which seems to be the case.

The amended living soil sticky thread in the Organic Growers forum is the best repository for living soil advice I've seen anywhere period.

Definitely looks great. I'm not a huge fan of the Chems (OG, Sour D, ChemDawg) because they stale quickly unless kept in the freezer. Also, despite their frostiness and good looks, the yields are rather low. And I'm more of a Sativa-dom hybrid kinda man. That said, I always wanted do try an OG run and this is my very frist try with em.

here's the journal I'm currently maintaining if interested:

Start here and feel free to ask me any questions about sourcing stuff locally - what county are you in?

I am just looking for the UNUSUAL. I only grow for myself and keep a strain of Grape Ape for my extract and smoke due to fighting cancer. For the other 3 plants i like to run different things. It started last year when i wanted to find the most purple bud possible but when i saw this black type i thought that it looked strange enough that i would love to see it grow. My problem is that i seriously doubt that i will live long enough to grow more than 1 or 2 more crops. I only grow outside in an open greenhouse. But i start plants to move outside under T5s several months before to get them as large as possible. This has proved impossible (or harder than my skills/set-up allow) for auto-flowers.

I would just like to see the best/most purple bud i can get (and i think this is black from an EXTREEM amount of purple). The rules on this site get frustrating since many have said that i can only get these odd strains from cuttings and combined with the confusion i am hearing on the legality of dispensories in Colorado selling clones makes my search near impossible. Most cuttings seem to be auto-flowers unfortunately.

The lighting on your pic is hard to tell how much purple is in that strain. I thought that i would ask to see if there are seeds i missed available though here that might (i would prefere definate) meet my personal search...Call it my bucket-list.

Take care.

Corvette Doc, so sorry to hear and I hope you're wrong on the 1 or 2 more crops talk. stay strong brother. Ya got a winner there in Grape Ape for your medicine, good for you!

look in your inbox for links.

you can buy these on attitude. blackish strains in seed form:

de sjamaan seeds: purple widow

high quality seeds: purple tops

G

greenmatter

bookmarked the links & thanks for the tip! I'm in Denver BTW

if you are going to mix your own soil, Way to Grow has a lot of the Down to Earth product line on the shelf. i don't think there is any "one stop shopping" for organics in denver, but you can get a bunch of what you need there.

Thank-you again StrainMan. I think this is enough info to track down the sources. Unfortunately the site auto scrambles the links and doesn't let me reply to PMs...My fault for not posting more i guess.

I only found the 2 clones of Grape Ape in mid July so they will be in next year's run. I have to keep trimming them and cloning them over the winter untill they can go into the green house outside. I ran one with a white widow last year and they were great. 16 weeks of chemo left me so zapped and out of it last fall/winter that the plants in my 30" x 32" grow room were neglected untill i finally just gave up on it before Christmas.

Not being able to find any clones at all untill the end of April left this year's crop kinda small. Now i am getting seeds to prevent being in that predicament again. I am curring the Jah Kush and trimming one of the three Lifesaver Indicas right now. Still have 2 of those and 2 Wheelchair Kush plants ripening and have a lot of trimming work for the next couple of weeks. I loved that grape smell that filled the house last Oct. and am pleasantly shocked that the Lifesaver is giving a softer grape smell but almost no purple that i like. I think the extreme heat we are experiencing this year stopped the purple, but one of the wheelchairs is getting a little red in the leaves and stems??? I tried ice when watering in the evening for a couple of weeks but it melted faster than i could get more and gave up. The heat seems to have forced the flowers to ripen early also. They were barely done in mid Oct. last year when the freeze forced cutting them.

I thought that the cancer was gone after removing the three tumors and half a lung followed by the chemo last year. A check-up CT found 2 lymph nodes that carried the edinocarcenoma back in June. That means less than 20% chance of my seeing another 3 years and right now it is just my guess (i was a Med Tech) from the rate of spread that about 2 years will be my best. I start another 6-8 weeks of chemo tomorrow and they are prepping me for radiation that i thought was also supposed to start this week but the doc is delaying for some reason. I will find out tomorrow what is going on, i hope. They have some luck with this type of cancer but the cards seem to have played out against me in all of this.

Take care, and thanks again. :thank you::tiphat:
