feds and med cards just don't mix brother !

a friend of mine who is a firearms instructor got an e-mail a few months back from the FBI that said anyone with a med card could not qualify for a CCW (concealed carry permit). i have no idea how the feds would know who is on the med card data base, but i would bet that they got access to it somehow.

FWIW my lawyer says that a med card does not protect your job if you come up hot on a drug test even if you work at taco bell. i would bet the feds would have you in the unemployment line in about a nanosecond if they found out you even had a card.

it might be safer to just stay off their radar altogether

I agree...just wanted to see what a few other peoples thoughts were on this. Hopefully HB 2306 will get passed, but I have my doubts.

I wouldn't do it. But do get a Dr.'s recommendation, if you're growing your own. A Dr's rec even without a redcard could prevent conviction of a felony...

Hydro I am currently growing out Cannatonic, and Harlequin in coco. We will have these tested for the CBD levels. These are sprouts right now but not for long.

Whats the score, As for Organics in dispensaries go, they might be organic, however some of these growers will use pyrethrins right up to the date listed on the bottle..ie less than a week to harvest. This will impart bad flavors and a harshness that could very well be the cause of doubt. NOT defending these jerk-offs for doing that. Defeats the purpose of organics. Something we would NEVER do. Nothing but h2o last 2 weeks, for anything.

Awesome! Can't wait to see the lab results. I know a couple guys making oil for patients that are interested as well. :D

I have to say... I really doubt anyone would believe my stuff wasn't organic, if I didn't tell them. The only thing missing is the 'dirt' flavor as I don't use anything 'on' the plants during flower. I have problems with EVERYONE's smoke. LOL

Heck.. the local dispensary here is "totally organic" and all their strains taste the same so..... It's definitely a mess. (Skip HCH2 in Alma if you ever have the desire, I'll pick apart the article in High Times if you like. LOL)

Definitely a mess. :tiphat:

Cannabis picks up the flavor of whatever it's grown in. I've seen organic weed that has the distinct taste of fish emulsion, and other stuff that tasted just like bat guano... not that I've ever actually tasted it. Hydro weed can also have off flavors if improperly grown.

I grow organic and I do feel it's possible to get better weed organically, but honestly the difference is subtle comparing well grown organic vs non-organic. With organic you need to use a variety of different fertilizer sources and avoid overfeeding to come out with a quality product.

Also, a comment about a system that produces similar weed from different genetics.... IMO that's a sign of a poorly performing system. The difference between good and not-so-good systems, IMO, is their transparency. The system should let the genetics express fully without interference from the system "coloring" the end result. The system you use should have as little effect on the bud structure, smell and taste as possible. I have seen organic growers using what they considered "the best" practices, brewed their own teas, spent lots of cash on bullshit, etc... but their system produced a bud structure and smoke that was a product of their crappy system rather than expressing the genetic potential of the strain they were growing.

Saw my first mountain lion today at a friend's house somewhere near Ward. Absolutely terrifying. I was letting the dog out to pee and I saw her (him?) come out of the brush in the distance. My dog looked at the lion, looked at me, I called her inside and she immediately ran inside. She is new to me and not well-trained, so her instinct was impressive; I'm glad she knew "this thing will eat me" as oppose to "big kitty! Let's play."

The cat stood still at looked ndt me for another minute (never chased after the dog), then eventually turned around trotting into the unknown.

I assume she'll be back. My friend is on guard.

What an experience.

Update
plants got too tall, the light footprint was way too small. I trimmed a lot of material around the edges of the screen, and then pulled the screen tight about 8 inches each side to lower the total canopy. The light foot print is much larger now and here at 18 days I do not think they will be stretching much more. Hopefully this will help.

They are drinking 5 gal of h20 every 4 days. I aircooled the lights and at lights on I am at 76 dgrees lights off I am at 67 degrees. I am still waiting on my filter, which will drastically change the temps ( 745 cfm fan ) So I have not air cooled the lights using the outside air, just the air from the passive intake. Hoping once the filter is set up the lights will not have to be air cooled....we shall see

Ladies and gentlemen of Colorado, I'm wondering if any of you know if there is a precedent for prosecuting growers with guns harshly? I'm in a very liberal city so I'm thinking it may be best to get rid of my firearms as a grower..

thanks.

yes there is. i know several dispencery owners fighting cases right now involving special offender charges being added to there cases for having guns in there homes. even if they were locked in gun safes. there trying to use anything they can against you to get you pead giulty on a plea agreement.

Guns and weed are always a bad mix in the eyes of the law. Now that our constitution is no longer worth the hemp it was written on, you're taking a serious risk.

Yes. If you consider an 8 year mandatory minimum harsh...

And FWIW, this applies to ANYTHING that could be considered a deadly weapon. It could be a kitchen knife or a baseball bat that's out of place... like leaning against your growroom door or room you have a safe in. So keep your knives in your kitchen and your sporting goods packed out of the way too.

Also, keeping your guns unloaded in a locked safe doesn't matter. You'll still get bent over.

a baseball bat that's out of place... .

I keep a Louisville Slugger near our bed
I keep my first baseman's glove and a New York Yankees cap with it
so it looks like that's where it ended up after the last time I played ball

Last time I played ball was in the early 1990s in the Niagara Falls, NY tavern softball league - hahaha
