Lots of awesome posts here. Woot.

6 plants is no longer the basis. Granted, police will harrass anything or anyone they can but HB1284 offers an affirmative defense for more so long as the doctor recommends it. And the doctor, because of Health Association law, has to testify if called to defend their position and their recomendation. Hell, according to statute, they dan't touch a plant unless it is proved that your operation is illegal and lawyers can and SHOULD persue compensation if the plants are taken or damaged. :)

As for the Skywalker, what exactly does OG mean? I mean, I heard it's Ocean Grown (original gangsta!) but what is so good about it? I have some Skywalkers coming up, too! haha.

Elevation won't effect yield but it can put selection pressure on a seedlot. Elevation does a lot of good things for cannabis, but it can do damage to genotypes not "fit" for it. I've noticed it happens in about 1 of 100 or so seedlings.

Thanks for the input

Wow I'm glad I'm not in Denver. These regulations just keep getting worse and worse. I'm glad that I am in good enough physical condition to provide for myself. I don't mean to rake the muck or anything but I gave up caregiving because it wasn't worth it anymore. I just couldn't justify the time put in for what I got out of it. I spent a lot of my time trying to change things and learned if you don't have money no one in politics cares about what you have to say.

Denver City Council Eliminates Private Cannabis Caregivers Within City Limits
By Tim Martin, Cannabis Culture - Tuesday, October 26 2010

CANNABIS CULTURE - In an expected action the Denver City Council has dealt a crushing blow to private medical cannabis caregivers and passed regulation making private caregiver operations all but obsolete within the city.

In a vote Monday night of 12-1 Council members adopted a measure to limit households within the city to just twelve plants total, and only two patients per home who must also live in the household.

Despite a new State law and regulation under HB 1284 allowing for up to 30 plants with a five patient limit per private caregiver, Denver City Council members saw fit to tighten those regulations more within Denver.

The law effectively eliminates private caregivers from growing cannabis for anyone but themselves and another person in the household. Each of the possible two patients per home are allowed six plants a piece and cannot caregive for anyone outside the home. Violations of the regulation would face tough fines and possible prosecution if inspections of a home revealed gross violations or lack of continued compliance. It’s not clear how the law will be enforced.

Most of the almost two hour public comment hearing was spent with council members commenting on their personal beliefs why the measure was proper to implement.

Councilman Charlie Brown commented, saying “..if Medical marijuana people (proponents) had cooperated would we be here (making this legislation)?”

Another Councilwoman commented to citizens in the hearing that had voiced concerns of foot traffic in and out of caregivers homes near them asking them, “Do these people look like they have a debilitating illness?”.

Patients complained in and out of the hearing that not everyone has the ability to grow cannabis and the rules would limit access to those who need the more personalized services a private caregiver could offer.

New patients under ongoing formation of HB 1284 regulations are not allowed to visit medical marijuana centers within 35 days of obtaining a signed recommendation. The rule stems from wording in Colorado Amendment 20 that allows the State Health Department to reject a medical MJ application within 35 days of recommendation. Private caregivers would be the ones to fill the void of time in which patients would be rejected by medical marijuana centers.

During the hearing Denver City Council also heard from a few residents for the strict regulation and one man who stated his neighbor was growing over 60 plants and with a new born child on the way he didn’t feel his safety or his new born child’s safety were secured with having a “large” cannabis operation next door. Council members used a few small situations like this throughout their comments as reasons why the law needed to be supported.

The Denver City Council also adopted wording as part of the law that will make them revisit the regulation in two years to see if the rules are working with the city and its neighborhoods.

The new Denver regulation could face a tough challenge in court though. Boulder, Colorado resident and Medical Marijuana patient Jason Lauve was acquitted last year of felony possession charges in a jury trial, despite the fact he had 35 ounces or 17 times the amount of suggested medical marijuana listed for personal use in Colorado’s Amendment 20. Lauve was injured in an accident in 2004 at Eldora Ski Resort and says he mixes smoking and using concentrates daily to control pain better than any pain management tool he has come across. His case is important because part of Colorado’s Medical Marijuana law allows patients in court to use an “affirmative defense”, allowing themselves and their doctors the decision on an appropriate amount of cannabis to posses in managing care, also allowing more than the suggested 2 ounces and 6 plants listed in Amendment 20. Jason Lauve’s acquittal reaffirmed this right in court.

The Denver City Council addressed the issue of Court challenge and constitutionality with its city attorney stating courts recently have decided on the side of regulation and have not favored medical marijuana advocates, and the city should feel confident in litigating any issues that rise from the new law.

9 people testified at the public comment Hearing. 5 against the regulation, and 4 in favor of it.

Hey wake the fuck up! :comfort: How's the peeps in the mile high state? Just chilling, changing the room again... 12-18 site, seven gallon per site under current I'm building. The ebb n gro is just to small for 6 foot trees and my girls seem to like to become ladyboys late in flower due to being root bound... Running indoors in summer was a big cluster fuck however it was all good in the end... Threw all the moms into flower saved 3 prized bonsai moms,,, everyone thought I lost my mind... So it's time for the bigger show... Ive cleansed my pallet of the old strains and the old grow system... It's finally cold! :jump: No ac 4000 watts and when I use the outside air intake it stays 77* in the room:jump: New strains, new system, on edge the whole time... Friction in my mind, love it! Peace and puffs

Yah Paco. They don't care about you.

Their city lawyer says:

"The Denver City Council addressed the issue of Court challenge and constitutionality with its city attorney stating courts recently have decided on the side of regulation and have not favored medical marijuana advocates, and the city should feel confident in litigating any issues that rise from the new law."

He's a lawyer & loves court; not YOU.

Our country is run by lawyers; not humans; they only care about laws;
not us.

They'll loose; they can't change a ballot initiative has been past experience.

The law's the law (he should know better than screwin with sick people)

oh wait he's a lawyer........

EDIT: sweet flowers Okie....

Well thank you! I'm always impressed with your pics.

It's a 600W + 100W HPS. The 100W is some old security light I'm running bare bulb to help illuminate the edge. Brings it up to 46W/SF vs 40 with just the 600.

Yeah it's a DR150W tent...roughly 3x5. I really like it - I'm just setting up a DR120L now as well. It's roughly 3.5x3.5 and will also use a 600W for about 50W/SF.

Most lawyers I deal with are not so interested in the law, but in the hours they can bill or dollars for retainers.

Or in a couple cases - just a briefcase full to change positions.

Ya know,,,, at least when a hooker changes positions, it's fun. And it usually dosen't cost extra. And ya intend to get screwed.

Bob, I like your F/D tray filled with hydroton...How is that working out for ya? Flood 3-4 times per day?

It works pretty well. I'm just setting up another tray and debated whether to do the same with it...decided I liked it enough to use the same setup again. I flood 3x per day during peak flowering and 2x per day for the start and end.

It's kind of a pain to clean the hydroton after each run, but it's nice not to worry about root space. Here's a shitty phone pic of 3 of the root masses from the last time i ran Juliet in there.
