Red Rider,

You are doing a great job with this thread. Keep trucking! (long live the sativa '70s)

:dance013:

El Tiberon - If you keep posting things like that Panama Red and do it with a positive vibe, you'll feel the good karma and respect.

OldproLg - I love seeing another sativa lover. Despite the quality, I love seeing the old pictures.

Peace,

ThaiBliss

So sad, too big egos spoil many good information in these forums.Person who thinks he/she knows everything, stops learning...
But cos I'm a fine lady, I don't argue. What's the point? I just grow and enjoy.
If I get fooled by some seedbank, then I do.

The best is yet to come!

The best is yet to come!

Hello my friends, I would like to apologize for my rude responses to El Tiberon. As I'm sure he knows what he's doing and he's welcome to post in my thread. Getting back on task, we will be moving next month for sure and I should be setting up my grow ASAP. I have several seedlings (some reds and black) of really nice sativa ready to go into the sun. I'm really trying to get some finished bud by February when we have the best weather. I will also be growing out some cripy and possibly some imported sativa hybrids. As far as this thread I really want to maintain a positive vibe that shares all with our community. Good things are coming soon so thank you for your patience and understanding.
Oh Chamba64 I've never heard of the bud your asking about however I don't get a name with most of my samples, just the grow location and quality. But grow those cripy seeds out, I'm sure you will be very happy.

This is my darling ;) It's a trifoliate Choco Chiba.
Have one very dark one and very coffee-candy father.Few others who haven't been sorted out yet, they are so small.
One female was pollinated by coffee father and I'm expecting some nice outcomes ;) I will make bigger grow next summer and sort the best ones out.

well in the late 70's was some killer
colombian around then green bud took over.
well i remember a very gold one that was
very stoney. well i saved my seeds back then
there was only 1 seed in that oz. well it was
put away and forgotten till about 10 years ago.
so i sprouted it and it grew and was female.
so you are lucky to live there. so me and friends
enjoy the old school taste and high it has.
now if i could some how find the old style thai
i would be happy. any way cool thread

Yesterday I was talking with the father of one of my students. He’s an older gentleman that moved to Bogota 40 some odd years ago from his farm. Although he didn’t come right out and say he grew cannabis but it was implied. He told me that plants of course grow in the mountains around Bogota but it’s really not the best climate for certain plants. It is cold here (Colombians call Bogota “the freezer”) and overcast a lot. He told me the climate where his farm is perfect for growing anything, he went on to say that at his farm he could plant one seed and get four plants. Later I was talking with my student and she said the family still has the farm and that there was indeed cannabis growing there (cultivated) and it was from the same seeds they had always used. She didn’t know where the original seed stock came from but that they used the seed from their plants every year and never introduced any new seed to the crop. I was even invited to their farm in Tolima to check it out if I wanted. I’m planning a trip.

Right on, that will be a great experience. I hope you get some good material to work with, and look forward to hearing about your trip there.

Sounds great. I Googled it and it is way downhill from Bogota. Depending on where the farm is, it could be anywhere from 2000 feet to 4000 feet altitude. I didn't know Bogota was at such high altitude.

When I was a kid, I found a single red coffee bean in a bag of high grade Colombian. Coffee likes it cooler than the hot and humid lowlands, but not so high to be in the rainy mountain tops. Seems like about 4000 feet sheltered by taller mountains, like Tolima, is where I would be looking for a place.

The only tropical places that I have visited are Costa Rica and Hawaii. I was very drawn to those coffee growing areas where it seemed a bit drier and cooler. B.T.W., I was told by someone with experience that I trust that a lot of the "Panama" Red was actually grown in Costa Rica.

I live in an area that is hot and dry in the summer, and cool and wet in the winter. It is usually in the mid 90s f. in the summer months, and it is not unusual to be over 100 degrees. From my observations, I think the plants seemed happier in temperatures between 70 and 80 f, though lots of people disagree with me on this. My best crops indoors are in the winter, when I can keep temperatures pegged at 70, for insect control, and even cooler nights.

On the other hand, I think the brighter the light, the better.

I don't know if you are looking for a place to live and grow, or are just going to learn and possibly collect genes. Either way, it sounds like it will be a very, very interesting trip, and I can't wait to hear all about it.

All the Best,

ThaiBliss

I don´t like your attitude...at all :(

So you pull a bitch move?

After running with the people I have been surrounded by for these last years, I find you to be wanton by your action. Play in the bush and let us see what type of man you are.

Internet games are for cowards behind keyboards. I think you have become fat in your mind with imaginary power.

Like my attitude or not, I am El Tiberon and I go to places that cowards such as you will never see and do things you will never have the guts to do and I am not concerned with consequence.

This place is your safe haven of anonymity and this is where you make your name.

I will not return here. I prefer to be among men of character. Even the worst of sicarios have more honor than a coward who cuts a mans words because he does not personally like his attitude.

vamos amigos, es siempre agradable ver diferente puntos de vista y datos sobre lineas de este maravilloso pais. Mantengamos el lado positivo e informativo. Lets keep it illustrative & informative amigos. we love Colombia :)

Is so hard to get the quicker punto rojos today. You have to talk to not so young ppl, as RR mention, maybe familiy members still have the seeds but there is not continuity much of cannabis culture between older and younger generations. Few areas maybe as Tiburon seems to know

There was an attempt by last President Uribe to change the law but am not sure if it was signed or not, basically they still talk about 20 plants allowed. But reality is different as usual with a local police and you better keep it as private as possible, grow in a more favourable area or try to negociate discretly with police :D

Reds and everything is quite mixed indeed today. Even quick Punto Rojos seemed got lost
But sativas use to come from valle del Cauca area or maybe some from Sta Marta. Nevertheless dayly foreing genetics are arriving to the country and customs dont seem to care much, in oposite to other more difficult southamerican customs like chilean or argentinean. So hard for new generations to understand the value of tradicional landraces or local lines when internet is full of commercials with autoflowering lines.

best vibes amigos

Yes its true, I just talked to my guy here and he doesn't bother with anything other than cripy now. And I really don't know if what's growing on my students farm is really a landrace sativa. I'm planning to go there but they only go to their farm in December. I'm getting a bad feeling the great sativa is a thing of the past here.

Red, I'm sure you already know this, but don't worry about guys like that. I've enjoyed your examples of fine sativas for years and will continue go do so. Keep it up.
