interesting...

I hope not too much changes with the amnesia.
Yeap, gotta say that I just HATE Barney's and that angry skinny bald guy who I think owns the damn place....Amnesia is a great place I hope it doesnt get ruined...perhaps it already is...lol...oh yes and Grey Area seems to be one of the best, I dont enjoy the game DNA boys have played but they sure grow good cannabis and thats the only thing that matters, and as I have said before, I dont like the idea of selling weed and alcohol in the same place but thats just me. Kinda gives me these LaCanna feelings. Oh, and if they really read these forums then its all good, anyone need a few strains in their menu? :D lol

to me it's not about whether it's good to sell alcohol and weed together, or not. to me it's about letting people get on with things without interfering more then necessary. what's so bad about letting the market decide who sells what where? what's this fascination with rules and laws? have we not had enough freedoms stripped from us? this rule, is just one more way for the long arm of government to stick their noses where they do not belong.

let them give legitimacy to the coffee shops, let them have normal banking services. then you can come in and make rules, but as long as the governments aim is to close as many shops as possible, then i can never agree with any tactics that will make their plans possible.

If Barney's was on the move to expand and legitimize, I wish they would buy out some shitty places...The Grasshopper and Bulldogs come to mind, and leave the nice "localish" places who sell shit that isn't keifed 10 times already and dripping in chemicals alone.

If barneys expand, they better leave the bulldog on spuistraat alone, damnit! Those dark wooden booths with green leather are my favourite place to chill and have a couple of coffees wit my greenery. I've gone there to smoke every time I go to the dam.

Barney's seemed cool to me, plus they carried willie nelson which was my favorite smoke from the dam

amnesia was extremely cool and had a kickass selection of buds. I feel everyone here when they hope that it doesnt change a bit

pink floyd was cool but could defiantly use a overhaul, however their umma gamma hash was fantastic and reasonably priced. I also liked the lounge upstairs, its where i learned how to roll a joint. I look forward to visiting again and seeing the revamped look.

Just heard that Pink Floyd has been purchased by Dampkring and sometime in late spring it will undergo a complete remodel with the aim of having the most gezellige shop in Amsterdam.

hey milehigh ,

is it the Umaguma that has been taken over , on corner of harlamer , just along from picaso? my friend worked there in early to mid nineties , those were the days :D  , they converted the top floor above the shop into an apartment for him , some great times were had back then. heard E the owner had bought another shop up north in gronigen , so maybe he s decided to sell up , he made his money outa that shop a long time ago ;)

peace.........sr

Damn I want a coffeeshop so bad.

What would it take? Is it still possible to open one? Would be worth talking about at least. Im sure there are a few people that could co-invest in that. I think that would be cool to have growers from here placing their specialties side by side in a jointly owned shop. You know it would be the best quality herbs. Just sounds interesting. :chin: :joint:

high hopes guys, if you even wanted to do something like that you'd need a Dutch frontman, otherswise I bet it would be almost out of the question. Also I heard coffeeshops are so profitable that they run a few mill to buy thats if you could even find an owner willing to sell.

Yes, that is the one. It has three levels so the apartment must have been changed back some time ago. I have been to some nice meetups there.
Tip: at the dealer counter you can see the rooms above thru a CC system monitor. Check if your friends are there without going up...

would be a fun project, i wonder how much you'd need to invest to buy a coffee shop? i know they are not allowing any new shops are they?
