Coffee Lovers

Coffee is roasted beans brewed with water.... no more... no less... add something to that and you have a compound which makes it entirely something other than coffee.

Many thanks to eaglesvision for putting me on to Peaberry Kona coffee from Hawaii. I ordered a pound from Dr. Paulo's Kona Coffee & Macadamia Nut Farms.

I must say this coffee is exquisite... very smooth and deep with no bite whatsoever. I got the medium dark roast... the taste has undertones of deep chocolate and a hint of vanilla. This coffee is amazing. Peaberry occurs in about 2-5% of Kona coffees... it is a single berry rather than the typical two of a coffee cherry.

I highly recommend this line... They sent me a code for 15% off through the end of the year: Use Coupon Code DPKC-NEWYEAR during checkout. After the 1st use: DPKC-FRIENDS for a 10% discount. Shipping was very fast... it came USPS Priority. I'm not going to put the site URL here... but you can easily Google it and get hooked up. They offer a variety of Kona's... with Peaberry being their finest... as well as a variety of different roasts... or simply green beans.

I highly suggest roasting your own coffee, it tastes so so much better than 99% of the crap out there, it's cheaper, and you get the exact roast that you prefer. just google popcorn machine coffee roasting and you'll find simple and cheap instructions.

I used to drink so much coffee when studying for exams like now but I feel sick now when thinking about coffee.

maybe it's because I usually drink the instant coffee or the preground coffee. Also never used cream so maybe that's why it wasn't so great.

someone told me the organic Kicking horse coffee is really good, I might try that.

Ya I believe coffee is about 98% or 99% water, and the rest is stomach acid.
I did a test 10 minutes ago. My stomach hurts.
Or maybe that's because I drank too much :)

Gotta keep at this studying crap. Almost done,
JC

LOL If you belive this, eat some coffee, roasted and machined. But not more that you are use for one cup of boil coffee. And wait fifteen minutes.

I drink coffee every day.
I like to drink it clean - no sugar, milk, crem etc..
Goes nice with a joint too :thank you:

Sipping some organic Mexican Yachin right now and it is chocolaty and delicious.

When I was a kid I thought coffee was terrible. I didn't know that was because my Mom drank lame coffee from a "coffee maker!" I thought it was bitter and not in a good way.

I'm good for a pot a day! Half and half with no sugar. I hate the sweetened creamers too.

Couple little tricks... if your using less than awesome coffee, throw a tiny pinch of salt into the grounds before you brew. that takes out a lot of the bitter. Don't freeze your beans because it will deplete the natural oils. Short term is OK and long term in the fridge is fine. If you haven't ever used a French press they are awesome. Only downside is you have to drink it before it cools. Cowboy coffee is just as good. Cowboy coffee is simply putting the grounds into boiling water, stir, remove from heat and let stand for 4-5 minutes. Only downside is you get grounds in your cup. When camping or backpackingI do it this way and have a ceap little strainer funnle thing that I use to seperate the grounds as I pour. For a really good buy on coffee try the Aldi brand. Beaumont is what it is called. I like the Guatemalan and the Zambian. They both come whole bean for $3.99 a bag. the Kona only comes ground, but that is good too.

Love coffee!!!! My 2nd favorite drug for sure.

THATS NUTS!

Cause i have thought about the same thing.....of course i was stuck on stupid with my coffee in hand admiring things in the garden and that same thing has gone through my head too.

There is usually a 1/4 cup(or multiple 1/4 cups) or so at some point in the day on the porch or some place that didn't get finished.

I'm a simple guy so it's either maxwell house or Folgers, what ever the girlfriend gets.

Around 2-2 1/2 pots a day around here and i drink about 90% of it.Way to much and i use way to much sugar.Little bit a milk.Nothin better than a good cup of coffee and fattie jay FIRST thing in the mornin!

Ooohh a coffee thread! I love coffee, espresso...whatever! It's gotta be good though... I like to buy Dunkin' Donuts whole bean medium blend, Maxwell House Dark Blend....OR hand roasted beans from Sumatra. Nice, full bodied taste....low acidity (for those heartburn sufferers). As far as espresso goes, I buy a dark french roast from a local coffee chain and use a Breville Cafe Roma machine to make that. For a good espresso...you HAVE to own a good machine that can make enough pressure to brew the shot well and give you a good crema top. Always, always gotta grind espresso beans at home, don't buy pre-ground crap....it only stays good for a couple days, if you're an espresso snob like me...has to be fresh! I grind my own drip beans too....well, other than when I get Maxwell House.

I LOVE coffee!!!

...oh and I take my drip BLACK, please do not ruin my cup with sugar and cream! Espresso, light vanilla syrup and milk is okay. OR, even better....straight espresso shot with a half n half chaser:)

Is the DD and the MHDB surprisingly good because I wouldn't think they would be in the same class as Sumatran?

OH NO!!! The DD and MH is NOT in the same class as a hand-roasted, fair trade Sumatran. I just like a variety in my coffee anymore...I drink everything from drip to coffee house to starbucks double shots. All depends on the day and mood.
