Coco Hempy style.

yes Azzazal, phostrogen all the way. Seedlings have .25 gram phostrogen per 6 litres water. I gradually increase to 3 grams per 6 litres for biggest plants.

i dont understand the benefit of the coco hempy vs a regular pot of coco.... the rez at the bottom of the coco hempy doesnt prolong watering times, it just fixes the problem that is inherent of coco...it needs something to drain to. if you were to just use a regular pot with holes on the bottom and 100% coco it would essentially be the exact same thing.

im willing to bet my left nut (hell ill also throw in my right one too) that if you were to do a hempy coco vs a regular coco pot you would tell NO difference in quality or watering times.

You`d be losin yer nuts then epic.........

The mini-rez in the bottoms is preferably coarse/chunky perlite , and the purpose of Hempy`s , either regular or with coco is to extend times between feeds .......

That`s why Hempy`s are categorized as "Passive Hydro".......

The coco wicks the juice up as it`s depleted and needed in the upper regions of the rootzones........

Don`t bet yer nuts on somethin you`re not sure about.......Coco needs fed more if it drains out the bottoms of regular containers........period.....

Hempy`s don`t need fed as often.......Thus the concept of the original Hempy`s bein passive hydro buckets......

He swapped over to coco in his latter days round here due to his experiments with it producing more explosive growth and yields than the original vermiculite/perlite mixtures.....

The coco can only hold so much liquid, the rez holds more fluid then the coco can on its own. So the watering time is increased. I use 5 Gal buckets with 3" rez and water once a week. Its like growing in a 10+ Gal pot of soil only cheaper and better.

done that and have to water plain coco pot evry day even twice with big girls. hempy is just easier and more forgiving. why dont you do the test mate.

Matters not if you do a side by side , cuz a "mini-rez" left in the bottom of said containers compared to constantly fed/dried faster bottom containers from "not having the mini-rez" , is not a "side-by-side".........

Without a doubt , there`ll be more feeds per cycle with no mini-rez , thus costing more juice in the long run while not guaranteeing more yield as the bottom line.........especially with smartpots that dry so fast.....

All in whether you`re looking for fully automated runs with more yield , or passive grown plants with longer veg for comparable yields.......

Good luck ......DHF....:ying:.....

can you have a rhempy bucket?like drippers and returns to under bed storage rubermades.kinds like a lowflow swc uc hempy bucket?lol hope yall feel me

I hear ya.

I've seen 1-2 gal hempy's on a drip system, on trays recirculating, or DTW. I'd go with the smaller pot so you can feed more often, or less plants and bigger pots.

Dongle69 did something like 14lbs of 6kw with 6" pots of coco, SOG style, in trays, horizontal lighting, no co2 !!!

I think that was a recirculating grow, not sure, find the thread its killer !

Hempy's are cool for learning/cheap hydro. I think they are more forgiving than soil. But when you are ready, you need to step it up to smart pots with coco on drain to waste drippers for optimal growth.

I still use Hempy cups with coco for cloning/ early veg and get sick results. Don't know if I will ever change that method.

im converted best belive that.high density sog party cups.chow mix, kiss(maxibloom silica blast).only thing thats getting me is watering these beast simple and cheap.drip or flood.flood would be nice good air exchange a simple as hell pump and gravity.or drip lines which im not very kin 2.what are you all think drip or drain.how bout vert?most likely drip:tiphat:

Ganja.......if you`re doin high density SOG with beer cups in coco , just get some H&G dripclean and flood em from below.......

The holes yas punched in the bottom`s of the cups will wick the juice up into the coco ftw........The dripclean will keep residual salt buildup from occurring "above" the flood line/upper1/3 of the plants........

Usedta haveta top flush coco with runoff to keep the upper 1/3`s from salt buildup causin lockouts/imbalance probs down the road......

Pretty babyshit simple nowadays.....Coco Hempy`s work well ........passively.... but constantly fed slowly as needed with blumats is takin over as the "Big Dawg on the block" for simple and effective with yields ta boot......

Anyone tried the Blumat "Maxi`s" in larger smartpots for bigger plants ?........

Would loveta see big plants grown with constant gravity fed "maxi" sensors for the ultimate "Set it and forget it" DTW tree grow in appropriate sized area with 50 watts per sq ft minimum and dialed environment......

Peace....DHF.....:ying:.....

nice!very nice advice.but 1/3 the up?is that not a lil too high, granted they are party cup.so there shape dosent
emerse 1/3 of the meadium.but i thought nft style would be more of the thinking.maby im wrongs.also your Q made another Q put in my head.under current flood and drain type of set u.plug check out my the think tankhttps://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=203391thread.thanks peace
