CMH is definitely viable for plants.

Anyone has tried our smart lights? Do you have any suggestions for the smart light system? How it should be? Or what it will be? Feel free to share your idea.

You're growing in a terrible environnent if it's only 11c without any heat from the lights. Maybe try to grow in better conditionsIn winter and in spring i find hids are the best way to produce anything.
Leds just dont work well for me in these low temperatures, everything slows down and all manner of issues pop up when it's 11 C outside and you are growing in an unheated/uninsulated environment.
I could mix led with hps/cmh but why bother when the extra heat is needed?
I could spend more $$$ on kingspan/celotex but why bother when the hids provide enough heat?
Leds work well in summer and can be welcomed when the extra heat hids pump out tip the grow room to well over 33 C but in the colder months, running hids at night means i dont need to insulate the grow tent.
Some programmable spectrums would be good. Maybe a program or two to replicate an autumn fade over the last few weeks of flowering by changing red/yellow/blue/green ratios etc.

Show me the 80 -90 %loss please ,Never switch to a full LED setup, you can supply some diodes with your HIDs, thats the ultimate way of getting into the field of UV supplements.
If you switch to a full LED array, you will lose 80-90% of your quality, even with UV present.
Having huge difference in temperatures between night and day Time of your plants is really bad for the quality of your flowers. With your bad growing conditions you're not in position to lecture other growers on quality. It's currently 11 C outside... but canopy temps are 27.5 C in the tent with 560 Watts of hids running.
What better conditions are there @kro-magnon?
If i ran leds with outside weather like that my canopy temps would be 16 C at best which would stall and lock out nutrients.
I have harvested my first run under LEDs after many years with HPS, I had trouble to keep the temperatures high enough for the plants to give all their potential.
Philips put out a halogen incandescent replacement at 70w. Longer lasting and more efficient with a similar spectrum - also cheap - if they’re still available where you are.i'm just about to try an experiment in my current grow.
my take on the led grow light industry is that they are mostly producing compromised lights that are usable in both veg and flower.
we need one spectrum for veg and another for flower but a light built to do both would be more expensive.
i am vegging with 5000k leds only. i am almost ready to flower them. i will continue to use just the 5000k leds until the end of the second week of flower.
at that point, i'll switch to all 2700k leds supplemented with incandescents.
incandescents provide even more light in the dark red areas than a hps or cmh.
they also include far-red and infrared.
they are dirt cheap and although a19 type household bulbs are rapidly becoming unavailable there will be a market for a15 appliance bulbs.
these are designed for temperature extremes and are vibration resistant.
farm stores are still selling incandescent chick-hatching bulbs and will be for a long time.
below, the graph shows a 2700k white led superimposed with a tungsten incandescent.

Blue Star OG pheno hunt, PPK style
hello, everybody! I am the grower formerly known as Delta9nxs. Welcome to a PPK style grow and pheno hunt of BlueStarseedco.com's new cross of Blue Star x Triangle Kush.www.icmag.com
Don't forger I had an exeptional quality even in those conditionsThat's why i run hids at night...

We will change our mind when we see actual results in smoke tests, not hype products that claim to do veg and flower and make coffee while they are at it.
The difference is the intensity of the source, essential oils will respond to higher intensity sources better (see the lavender oil test acoupke of pages back)
It's really a no brainer, if you fail to realize that 1 high intensity source will provide for them all (sun) then u are actually deny reality
HIDs have done us all good through the last 30+ years, LEDs have not proven themselves yet, not in the quality department anyway
Their whole concept goes against what we see in nature.
But I really do see why people love them for veg, they show amazing results all across their spread which is a game changer in large low watt spaces.
