Cinderella 99 = Which Breeder has best rep?

How many did you grow out? I usually have to grow out at least 20-30 plants to find a keeper. I’ve been running now for a decade plus this time and I’ve only found 3 keepers out of seed packs from lots of breeders. The two other cuts I run were gifted to me.
Wow, that seems like a rather high # to run just to find a few keepers. I've read a few ''shining'' reports on Blimburn C99 as well as a few of their other strains, including Zombie Death FK, Cafe' Racer and GDP. Haven't seen their thread here on ICMAG though.

It’s hard to find a plant you can clone and sell hundreds of pounds in the same area over years, and not only do people not get tired of it, but still ask for it by name. And that’s just the quality. For me it also has to produce over 20 zips from a 3x3 tray every 8 weeks or less, by the second run. If I can’t dial it in for at least 24 zips, or people get sick of it, I kill the mother.

I’ve grown hundreds of seeds and kept 3 so far. It’s economics. Why decide to make less money from the same space? I started with clones of deathstar, and then gmo cookies. It’s really hard to find something worth growing in place of either.

I grow different stuff all the time for myself. If anything shows promise, I buy a few packs of seeds and see how it goes.

Good point, and whew... sounds like a full time job there man. Have you had any experience with Blimburn gear or know anyone that has? About to give their C99 and some freebies a go just for personal, but reports are not so easy to find in general.

No experience with c99 at all. But from what I hear it sounds like a line I’d like to check out, even if just for me to smoke for a while. That’s how I ended up in this thread.

I’ve heard a mixed bag about blimburn. That’s why I asked how many were grown out. I’ve never heard anything bad enough yo put them on my do not buy from list.

Same here, Just got a little 3-pck of their C99 to try out them out, and the tude is running a freebie promo of the Blue Dream and Cafe' racer, atm. The CR is prone to mould from what I gather, but it's not going to be an issue for a Fall / Winter indoor run.

I’ve wanted a blue dream keeper for years. It’s my favorite high, none of the seeds I popped had that high. I may end up driving across the country some day just to get a real cut.

Years ago I tried DJ Short's Flo and am still looking for something similar, minus the hyperinflated price of those beans. I may just save some money and buy an f5 version of those seeds and make more of my own to keep this one around for a personal stash.

I’d pay top dollar if I knew I’d get a keeper. It’s just that the more I spent on seeds the less overall uniformity and quality I found. Weird that more variation doesn’t always produce a stand out plant. I think most modern “breeders” haven’t ever stabilized anything.

Agreed, and with the very limited pollen-chucking I've done over the years, I can't really speak on any consistent breeding or stabilization, other than simply creating some beans between 2- parents / phenotypes within a line that I like. These are my hopes for DJ's Flo which is apparently a F5 line these days, and the only one commercially available, that I have seen anywhere. Keeping bottleknecking at a minimum, I like this one well enough to possibly spring for a 10- pack and see what I can do to keep it around for personal, sometime into the future.
