cigarette smoking around plants

First off, I want to thank everyone for all the info on this site. It's really incredible. This is my first grow and everything I know I have learned on this site. My question is can I smoke cigarettes around my indoor garden? I have searched this site, pretty thoroughly, don't want to ask the same question that's already been ask. I believe I saw it on hi times "ready set grow" videos, not sure, I have been scouring the web, especially this site for so much info not sure where I saw it. Can I damage my plants with cigarette smoke?

I smoke around them and take cuttings with a cigarette lit in my hand. I think you will be fine

plants breath and need carbondioxide to to live carbonmonoxide is bad for them. i dont smoke tobacco anymore. iv read this theory in a couple different mags and shit but then again im sure people do it all the time and dont notice any effects and tbh you probably wont notice any either.

You should be more concerned with what you're doing to yourself let alone to your plants smoking those cancer sticks bud. I just quit after smoking them for 11 years and I feel soooo much better now, it really does pay to stop. Good luck to you!

imo it dont make any differance at all . i smoke around my plants since the day i started growing as i smoke js with tobacco all the plants i have grown have been heathy .

Always thought it was a myth but if ya could go outside why stink up the garden. If ya get a constant supply of buds you wont want to smoke cigs anymore that how I quit

pearlemae!!! You beat me to the punch! The first things i learned in horticulture class and greenhouse/growhouse management is absolute sterility. The cleaner the better. Concrete floors if possible indoors and the smoking thing. All smoking students had to disinfect their hands in special solution before entering the growhouse or using tools, touching plants etc.
I bet there are several mosaic viruses transmitted through touching cigarette butts and tobacco, and transmitted to plants. I have a virus in my garden and every grow it's a different plant, variety etc, they've all seeemed to get it at some point. Here is a pic I took to show you what this Green Crack plant did, I've had it on Fire Og, and a few others.
Haven't seen any negative side effect in the visual sense, but what do I know. It sure looks weird, I'm not sure if this is from tobacco, but it does spread from plant to cuts, and from plant to plant, I believe razors in the cloning process do it. I've been anal about sterility while cloning different strains, using new razors etc and it has cut it down to one plant..this last run..

I've never had a problem with my plants but my lungs are shit. Smoke gets sucked into my little cabs and over my girls all the time, but never a problem. Never occurred to me it could be so maybe I will be more careful now. Maybe I'll quit tomorrow! Sounds so easy when you got one smoking in the ashtray!

I've heard it clogs the stomata on the plant and they cannot breathe as well, I know I read that someplace, although when I used to smoke I did it in the growroom all the time with no noticable ill effects.

all the time smoke around grow but still open window and from 4 grow i get relly healthy fuct shit and green plant, no one time get hermy, but my tent is close if you smoke all the time with open tent or you have open growroom bohh i don't no...

My aunt got lung cancer at 43. Smoked a pack or so a day, by 44 she had brain tumors, right side of her body paralyzed, 5 brain surgeries later she died at 45...

Cannabis doesn't kill, Cigarretes WILL kill you quick, no grandkids, devastated wife, dreams crushed. Remember the reasons why you quit if you try...life is way more precious than giving money to people who lobby to keep Cannabis illegal..
