Chocolate Rain

Although I'm about to start 24 plants on Monday.....this strain scares me. Looks like a ton of variation within the seeds and it's touchy with the nutrients. Add in the longer veg period most people are using and it's not necessarily a good starting point..........

Normally those 3 things above would be enough for me to pass and try something else. But when I factor in the "tastes and smells of berry and chocolate", the encouraging heavier yields and the overall smoke quality----- I'm going for it!!!

these 4 plants(2 indoor, 2 outdoor) were 4 different plants from 8 seeds I popped, 50/50 male female ratio. All of um are consistently sweet funky crystally dopeness. Id give this strain an average of 9/10. One of the best hybreds Ive grown.

actually was a great yeilder outdoors. Indoors my room was so crowded it was hard to tell, but lots of tops, sure it would have filled in better if room and other plants allowed.

MY point is/was the buds don't seem large or dense so to get any good weight, you'll need 30-40 tops which means loads of topping/training. Not knocking it- just commenting. Anotherwards, doesn't appear to be a commercial crop in any sense....... but you can bump yield up considerably with a long veg.

I grabbed a pack of these, as well as the blue chocolate(dabney blue x chocolate rain). I have no doubt this will be grade A cannabis.... but the blue chocolate just calls to me more. Should be a better yielder as well.
Anyone else rockin' the chocolate rain or blue chocolate?

My single plant in flowering looks great and even though it's just over 6 weeks in flowering, there is tons of resin and a few hairs are starting to brown. The resin is greasy, and an interesting lemony smell and taste. I couldn't help myself- yesterday I cut an mid-level (but dense) bud and dried it for a few hours in the dehydrator. It was wonderfully potent already, and very rich and flavorable taste. I'm a heavy smoker and I only had to do 2 bong hits all night long to get me thru.

Well, I'm at day 50 or 51. My lone plant looks very similar to MO's pic's, just needs another 7-10 days to continue to pack on the resin and harden up some. Mine is straight berry/raspberry, no chocolate hints at all. Smokes great, wonderful full-body taste and an up and heady high. Only thing I can compare it to is Sweet Seeds Sweet Cheese which is similar in a lot of ways. My yield looks to be around 1.5 oz. when it will be finished, which isn't bad considering it's off to the side in the room and not getting normal, every-day lighting like the rest of the plants in the room. I'll post some pic's before and after the cut, in about 8-9 days.
