I decided the plants were too large to be completely seeded so I collected some Yunnan pollen from 2 males in another room and brushed it on a branch on each of the girls.
Welcome to ICMag and ACE Seeds room. They look bushy and healthy, im glad to know you are making your own seeds with the genetics, wish you the best for the rest of the flowering. Thanks for the updates!
No Problem Dubi! Thanks for making these great genetics available.
Besides some spider mites the plants are doing great and I'm starting to see the first signs of some seeds popping up. I'll drop back in tonight or tomorrow with some more pics.
Here she is-doing great. still another 2-3 weeks to go so I'll start flushing them out a week from now. clusters of seeds are forming where I dabbed some pollen so everything is still going as planned.
So, I've Started to flush them out. In the last few days the Yunnan have started developing rich aroma's of leather, chocolate and perhaps a bit of anise. earlier on in their lives they had a spicy odor that reminded me of ginger. I plan on testing both plants with TLC so look out for that! : )
I like a lot how you develop your chinese ellis It's a real classic yunnan phenotype regarding structure, appearance, yield and flowering time. She really produces stronger resins and denser flowers in the last 2 weeks of flowering.
Thanks Dubi, they're coming along great and 8 weeks is just around the corner. I tried to keep them at 25C in veg and 20C for the last few weeks as suggested but I've been slowly dropping the night time temp to around 15C to see if they'll show some color. more pics coming soon.
Done! Its not too often that everything goes as planned but thankfully this time is one of them. The 2 plants yielded 3 ounces of beautiful sticky flowers and so far a few hundred seeds. It's still curing so I'll have to come back with a smoke report but until then, some pics!
The description on Ace's site referring to it's creamy bouquet is very accurate. Oddly, the more it cures the more cheesy it smells. Dry earthy and perhaps woodsy aroma's like juniper or spruce translate in to the taste of the smoke as well.
I'll be doing TLC on both phenotypes in the next few days but I can tell right off the bat there's a decent amount of CBD. The high is mildly cerebral at firsts and relaxing towards the end but not to the point of a functionless couch lock. Overall, a good day time indica that I will definitely be using in future breeding projects.
I'll be back with TLC results in the next few days
