Chem's guide to making Cannabis bushes

This is pretty similar to the technique I use, but I top twice. I'd say it increases my yields 25% pending on the strain and how it responds.

The next step I took was ScrOG, which increased my yields about another 25% on top of the original 25% from LST.

I've never had much luck FIM'ing though. It's just hit or miss, it either tops or FIM's. I've tried a few different techniques I've came across here and there but my results are always about the same

Much agreed. I didn't mean to suggest to only top once. Please, top to your hearts content. I top several times usually before flower, to clone or just improve growth.

I suggest topping no closer to 7 days before the flip though.

I've wanted to SCrog before, but I don't like the idea of not being able to move the plants around.

(PS- belated thanks to rarely posting Tokahomabongzi for the hands in the pics. )

I recently tried bending my plants and broke the top layer of the stem on a few of the bends. The plant still supports itself but I am afraid im going to lose that head of the plant. Have you ever experienced this and would you happen to know the recovery time of the broken top layer?

There's a science to bending (Supercropping) your plant without breaking it. I've tried a few times and still learning. I was able to see the results on the few that made it through.

Maybe Chem can elaborate on his bending technique.

tape it! with any tape you have at home. preferably something u get off easily after recovery, which should take 3-5 days max.
good luck

@chem&m

great work, and way to go. i'd say only a very very perfect sog can beat the yield of a properly trained canopy.
although the soggers would always deny that ;)

humble greets

hey , bush grower here too .. the only time i dont supercrop is if im trying new seeds, pinching sure takes some training but growing lanky sativas in a apartment needs to be controlled.

i just love bush ;)

Hey Bro,
Ive found LST/Bending leading branches has the same effect on Auxin distribution as topping has, but without the added stress brought on by topping which as you know is HST. I always top myself but only once maybe twice, then LST through ScrOG Screen, secondary growth is brought on the same but without the stress, better for the plant imo. Topping slows the plant down too imo, whereas LST does the oppisite, ive found the middle of canopy stays more managble with LST as apposed to topping which brings too many minor shoots that just leach the plants energy & they make plants thicker, which impeades airflow through the canopy.(both bring similar growth but less stress with the LST).

Have you considered Modular ScrOG, i see a few IC'ers using Modular Pot ScrOG's, they can move them around whenever they like & have multiple strains in the same Cab. Never tried it but i like the idea, just thought id mention it, see people getting great yields using the Mod ScrOG tec.

Different strokes for different folk, you have certainly got the LST thing down. Great strain list there too man.

Best o Luck! ;)

I totally agree. It does slow it down a good bit. I always add a weeks time by topping. That's why I think all 3 techniques (LST, Top/FIM, and Super-cropping) all have their place in here.

Very well said.

Also, I never thought of the modular SCrog. I'll have to look that up. I'll be interested to see what my gram per watt ratio is after this run. I'll have to do a test between the two. Thanks for the tip!!

:thank you:

Check out 'Verdant Green', he rolls with the Mod ScrOG's, organic pot culture too, im sure you seen him around!
Just as easy with Bucket DWC/Oxy Pots, Coco & various pot culture growing.! I like the Mod'Scrogs, Gonna give one a go just now, not to diss-similar to what i do with my 2-4 plant 70l Totes, there virtually Modular too, well they are-sometimes, when i can be bothered to fix the screen to the Lid of the Tote. ;)(I regularly hit 1.1-1.3gpw, struggle not to)

Best o Luck Bro! K+

Very nice technique, Chem.

You have in one thread managed to get me completely turned off of the old fashioned "christmas tree" method -- FIM & LST are the way to go. Thanks ... :tiphat:

im new
and the notion of training has been
one that fills me with fright.
i dont wanna fuck up
and traing seemed mystifiying.
this thread has helped me alot.
made me want to try.

thanks again

@Chem&M - Just came across this post from Simon's perfect cure thread. Bummed cause all of your training pics are missing. I would love to see your technique. Any chance of reposting the pics? I know it was from a while back.

Thanks!

Thanks for the info.....

Thanks for the info.....

I'd like to repeat what pappagriz wrote some months ago....

No images appearing... informative Thread, but a picture paints one thousand words......

Can we get the pics reloaded?

Thankyou
