Hey MyohoDisco! I have been meaning to ask a favor!

Could you please post a nice sized "blow-up" of that beautiful avatar?

What a wonderful composition of the land of eternally tranquil light!

Thanks for the thanks, but I am sure you have all inspired me much more than I could ever inspire you!

I bow in obeisance to all the incredible Buddhas that support this thread.

Nam-myoho-renge-kyo!

"In the Land Where Magic Began" by Dale Terbush

It reminds me of the C.S. Lewis Books regarding The Chronicles of Narnia of which I have read only the first two, because I am saving the rest for when I get to take a nice long vacation on a happy beach so I can really soak in those great literary works for children and adults alike.

In the first book of the series when Narnia is created through the Roar of the Lion Aslan's Song, so many glorious and wonderful things happen and come to be. So as I was seeking a photo to go with my new (location), seeking something that would emulate the Saha World I ran across Mrs.Babba's old avatar and a few clicks later found this one.

Hi there Hitman!

Last night wags and I had a great conversation and I admire the fact that wags also recognizes the familiarity in his life with the Buddhist practice, and it doesnt matter what you have believed all your life or have done prior to this moment, because if you want to understand Nam Myoho Renge Kyo you might just come to find out that you already do. There are many things we cannot explain and as much as we ask questions and acquire wisdom like Shariputra or T'ien T'ai the reality is, there is that Mystical aspect that is imperative to include in your "equations and permutations". Just examine the word Myoho :chin: :

Myoho literally means the Mystic Law, and expresses the relationship between the life inherent in the universe and the many different ways this life expresses itself. Myo refers to the very essence of life, which is "invisible" and beyond intellectual understanding. This essence always expresses itself in a tangible form (ho) that can be apprehended by the senses. Phenomena (ho) are changeable, but pervading all such phenomena is a constant reality known as myo.

Chant to display your Buddhahood and bring forth that strength, joy and vibrant life condition and faith.

I am starting to realise why I feel the way I do ... and am inspired by all the kind words.... I may sound like a "sad" guy but Im actually happier than I have been in a long time ...

I couldnt explain the reasons but I can thankyou for helping aswell as a few others ...

I have been using time for things that matter to me at the moment ... and feel better for it ... realising this is something I REALLY dont do enough ...
Hope your all well and take some time to relax and enjoy each day aswell as chanting ... I mean really work on relaxing lol Its working for me ...Doing nothing at all even

Many things in life will get to you , get you down or even totally bewilder you ...

If one hopes to study and master Buddhism, then one cannot do so without devoting time to the task.

I need to repay my debt of gratitude. I have gratitude for everything in my life right now. I'm afraid it could all end in a flash. I walk on eggs.

I hope you'll stick around for awhile. Don't walk on eggs. Walk proudly and confidently. To fear that "it could all end in a flash" is to doubt the protection of the Gohonzon. That is a cause that can manifest as the exact thing you fear. Fear and self-loathing are self-perpetuating delusions and the root of much of our suffering.

I am so glad to see you again! You are one of the initial reasons that this thread came into being! Go back to page one everybody! Hitman is mentioned in the very first post!

Pass the Doobie, thanks you for the warm welcome. Your wisdom quenches me like water. Babbabud, I'm so glad to be able to meet others that share my interests and unless my souped up computer blows a head gasket I'm here to stay.

Whenever you change your karma you get to see flashes of what you have overcome. Positive and negative go together like a battery. Time to chant to change my karma. Peace all! Thanks again for the special welcome.

Thanks Everyone!

Thanks Everyone!

From the bottom of my heart I would like to personally thank all of you here of the daimoku and prayers for my wife and I and all family members. Thanks PTD, Babba, EasyD, Dutch, Sleepy, Grat3ful, Bartender and everyone else!!! It was a most difficult time but one I feel will bring about great and positive changes in all who knew my wife's son.

Not having the time and resources, I hadn't been able to check in until getting back from Seattle; and the 3+ pages here on IC since I had left is so very encouraging. (Welcome back Hitman!) But during that time I could feel the rythmn and vibes from everyones support.

The funeral was Wednesday and altho I believe I was the only Buddhist it had all the makings of a beautiful Buddhist memorial which I am so very thankful. It couldn't had come off any better. I know it was the Buddhist gods protection for Cora, myself and her family, thanks again for everyones prayers. It happened because all of you and all my SGI brothers and sisters who heard and prayed for us during this difficult time. Thank you!!!

This loss has been the most difficult as you might know for my wife and I ask that you continue to send her and her son Albert daimoku. Thank you! Altho she doesn't actively practice this Buddhism, she has agreed to chant with me for 15 mins. I love you all!

Buddhism teaches that suffering derives from karma, the causes that we ourselves have created. The Buddhist teaching of karma is one of personal responsibility. It is therefore our responsibility to transform sufferings into value-creating experiences. The Buddhist view of karma is not fixed or fatalistic--even the most deeply entrenched karmic patterns can be transformed.

By taking a difficult situation--illness, unemployment, bereavement, betrayal--and using it as an opportunity to deepen our sense of personal responsibility, we can gain and develop the kind of self-knowledge from which benefit flows. Buddhism teaches that self-knowledge ultimately is awareness of our own infinite potential, our capacity for inner strength, wisdom and compassion. This infinite potential is referred to as our "Buddha nature."

The original meaning of the phrase "to turn poison into medicine" relates to this level of self-knowledge.

Our deepest condolences as well SoCal. Please feel free to ask us of anything we might be able to do to help you through this difficult time. Nam-myoho-renge-kyo!

Scegy! Congratulations! Well done young Brother! Easy and Bud may be absent from the thread for the next few days, but I am sure they share my joy at your efforts! You ARE a Bodhisattva of the Earth! Keep growing! Your mind is THE MOST powerful thing! Your message brought tears to my eyes! Thank you!

Hitman--I cannot express how happy I am to have you here at home again. Make sure you check the oil on that computer of yours. That gasket can never again be blown. We need you here and are overjoyed at your return.

Deepest thanks to all! Let’s all remember Albert, Johnny, and MsG’s mom in our prayers! They will all be back in this saha world before we know it.

Please trust the Daishonin’s promise that our daimoku reaches them, even though they have left this world. We are all connected and that connection cannot be broken--even by death. Because we have each other, we are never ever alone.

I'm going to do gongyo and I'll chant my very hardest that good fortune protect us all!
Karma is nothing to mess with and it's taken all these years to see it. Sometimes my bad Karma flashes itself and I try to remain calm while shaking inside. We've all got our duty to stand up and be strong! Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo!
