Nam Myoho Renge Kyo is our sword of justice.

Tom gave me one a long time ago...actually I had the sword but needed to remove it from it's hilt and start using it.

Use the power to make good things happen...like a wizard walking by and making everyone happy. With a song in our heart we wish well for all and in so doing we do well for ourselves as well.

Bodhisatvas will stand up as Buddhas when they use their weapon of love. Bog

Wow! That was so spot on! Congratulations and thank you!

Bowing in humble obeisance,

T

"If you find it difficult to smile, then at least try to speak in a pleasant tone.

"Suffer what there is to suffer, enjoy what there is to enjoy. Regard both suffering and joy as facts of life, and continue chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, no matter what happens. How could this be anything other than the boundless joy of the Law? Strengthen your power of faith more than ever."

"If in a single moment of life we exhaust the pains and trials of millions of kalpas, then instant after instant there will arise in us the three Buddha bodies with which we are eternally endowed. Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is just such a 'diligent' practice."

"Reaching out to support and sincerely listening to those who are suffering constitute the actions of a bodhisattva. Nichiren Daishonin describes bodhisattvas as those who care for others more than themselves and who impart good to others and bear the brunt of evil themselves (cf. WND-2, 201).

"To empathise with the suffering and sorrow of others, to take on others’ hardships as if they were our own, and to impart hope and courage to all—this is the essence of what it means to be a bodhisattva."

The Daishonin teaches the importance of
courtesy towards one's friends.*
It is indeed our sincere and courteous attitude
that moves other's hearts.
Today, again,
let's happily and optimistically cultivate new friendships.

Daisaku Ikeda

*"Third, treating one's friends with courtesy means that, although one may encounter them ten or twenty times in the course of a single day, one greets them courteously as though they had travelled a thousand or two thousand miles to see one, never showing them indifference." - "The Four Virtues and the Four Debts of Gratitude", WND-II, page 636

One of the best lessons on showing respect and why it is so important. Sharpen your swords...

Chant Nam Myoho Renge Kyo this morning, noon and night and your victory is assured!

Thanks Tom..

It's not as much the words we use but our tone of voice, facial expressions and body language. Choose your words carefully however.

I think most conflict is really a failure to communicate so pray for understanding because if your heart is pure your intent will be positive.

Nam Myoho Renge Kyo my friends... I smile at you :)

"The human heart is like water that assumes the shape of whatever vessel it occupies, and the nature of beings is like the reflection of the moon undulating on the waves. Now you insist that you will be firm in this faith, but another day you are bound to waver. Though devils and demons may come to tempt you, you must not allow yourself to be distracted."

"My mentor, second Soka Gakkai president Josei Toda, once described the secret to teaching others about our Buddhist practice as follows: 'In the Latter Day of the Law, introducing others to the Daishonin’s Buddhism starts with deciding "At essence, my life is nothing other than Nam-myoho-renge-kyo!’”

"We ourselves are entities of the Mystic Law. As such, we have nothing to fear. We cannot fail to become happy. When we chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo based on that conviction, we can experience the 'greatest of all joys' (OTT, 212).

"When we share with others the joy and conviction that we gain through exerting ourselves in the 'two ways of practise and study' (WND-1, 386), support and understanding for our movement from those around us are certain to grow."

The more action we take,
the farther and wider the force for justice and truth expands
and, at the same time,
the more radiantly our good fortune and benefits shine.
My deep appreciation, from the bottom of my heart,
to you all, our precious SGI members,
for your selfless dedication towards achieving kosen-rufu!
