My single 125w CFL, vert stylee, is certainly doing the trick for me!

It ended up being a sort of perpetual kind of setup, for now, but here are the 2 Lemon Skunks that will be harvested in a week or so:

I'm still running some tests and taking notes in terms of how tall certain clones end up getting with zero veg. Ultimately I would like to find clones that have a good amount of stretch to them so I won't have to veg first. This is purely a just-for-fun grow that gets me some extra bud. QUALITY bud! Clones grown under fluorescent light always end up having waaaaaay more trichs on them than the same clone under larger HPS's. :)

My mini-fridge is pretty full with ~155w of mixed CFLs - I love how easy to use these lights are and the cooler temps they offer - a great way to get started with micro-growing.

My tiny new seedling/clone/early-veg box utilises just one single 42w CFL hung vertically in the centre - and I LOVE it - it is so simple yet effective - with just a 120mm pc fan (Noctua) for exhaust, and passive intakes; it keeps temps almost at ambient and is totally silent.

Loving the CFL trichs :) Peace to all

I slow grow my moms under 3x 24w 6500k CFL's . This is for 60 days with lucas in a rubbermade 18 gal bin/tote. Take cuts I need 2 weeks the bloom room finishes. Place mothers into Bloom . Let the cuts slow grow 60 days take cuts from those and push the larger mothers back into the bloom room. let the new cuts slow grow 60 days . No veg period :) This is all with lucas in DWC

does anybody have problems with their babies stretching during flowering under cfl's?? mine are 2 weeks into flower and 2 out of 3 have stretched too much so ill be lucky if i even have a decent smoke when theyre done now.....

you will experience stretch both under CFL and HPS and any other light source.
thay will always strech asit is the nature of the plant (only the scale can be different - depending on your setup and canna genetics).

however you can limit negative impact by performing some LST on the branches and even on forming buds :good:

good luck, you will be fine if you train your branches a little bit.

Lots of amazing setups here! respect :tiphat: here's mine, 325W in 3.2 Sqft, 3.5 weeks left to harvest, how much you think I'll get?

You can also limit stretch with CFL's by putting them very close to the plants. Look at hisser's pic- they're growing right into the lights! I mean this in a good way! Push those CFL's by putting them close to the plants.

And also by gently changing from 18/6 or 20/4 to 12/12. I mean like with steps for example minus one hour on two days slowly reaching standard flowering light time. It will make the grow longer but i think it is the best method switching from veg to bloom according to plant stretching factor.

I think that those three tips added by NKOTS, Jellyfish and me will do best combined together. All the best with your grow sweetteeth.

One love,
peace :ying:

thank you iron cell ive had stretching problems before but i dont understand why as my 25ow cfl is less than 2" from the tops unless it could be caused somehow by the feeding not being stable enough or summat

Hello all! Its very inspiring to read and see the results you guys get with CFL's.

I have a "barneys blue cheese" that is drying atm. Flowered under 250w CFL. Picture taken week 6 of flowering.

Looking frosty! Smell is not there though, dunno why.

hello cfl club i am planning to use 3 23w 1380lm CFLs for the veg side of my cab.
I was wondering if this is the correct way to wire the sockets
http://imgur.com/cvowFxE

Do tell if there is a fire hazard(note: i will tape the wires when im sure its wired correctly)

thanks

Man,, I hate to say it, but that definitely looks like a fire hazard... Get some extension cords, they're cheap, cut off the female end and then only strip off as much insulation as it takes to make a proper seat in the receptacle, then get a multi-outlet strip and plug into that... best of luck!!!
