I don't know if this is the right place for my question but do any of you guys have an opinion on bending tops under cfl's so ALL the bud on the plant is close to the hood? any opinions welcome. oh btw im talking about doing this with 1 metre tall autos
Yes, sweety it could be a great solution that maximises production of buds and their access to light! but be careful with bending it as the 1m long stem will be quite stiff already. I would advise to do it in several stages, a little more every time. Hope this helps. Happy growing!
well over the last 4 days ive been bending the tops a little bit at a time and abit more each time and now the main cola's are at the same height as the rest of the plant, the only part which I believe to be too far away from the light are the bottom branches but ive used some fishing line to tie all the main cola's together horizontally, loose enough so not to squash the stem (as I still want the plant being able to take up what it needs from the medium) but tight enough for them all to produca 1 big cola joining all plants and I can already see a dramatic increase in bud size after just this short time, I have 4 1/2 wks of flowering left so I am getting very anxious and really wanting to try it now but I will fight temptation until its ready. thank you all so much, you've all helped me get what already looks to be an awesome yield from just 1 250w cfl and I still have ages left to go, the buds are all very tight and compacted together and smell soooo good. ive named my 'bush' stinkerbell. I just hope this tooth fairy brings me some real nice gifts at the end of my wait
Well, glad i helped
A pic would definitely help. So you kept her below this cfl in vertical position during all veg and half of flower? Pity you didn't ask earlier, your plant would be far more developed in the bottom sections. Still, you seem to be happy about the potential yield which is fine enough. Now that the girl is horizontal it will pack the buds even better. Btw i assume your bulb is horizontal too?
Post this pic pls!
Oh and you can edit your posts instead of posting new ones, there is an edit button below your posts.
yes the plants were vertical until half way thru flower and now theyre horizontal and the light is also horizontal, I know I may of missed the train so to speak this time but next crop I will start bending during veg and hopefully have an even better yield. atm ive only got 2 plants but now I know this bending trick I may do more next time and add another light of the same type and power, im happy with the results so far this time round but as long as my crops keep improving that's good enough for me. p.s. will get the pictures up as soon as im bk home so u can see for urself
also 1 of my sweet tooth's has a real deep purple/red tint to it any ideas which lines this comes from??? is it the Hawaii/afghan/or Nepal traits following in this baby?? should this be the 1 I keep as my own stash do u think?
Hi Folks - Proud member of the CFL club. 3rd time using them although this might be my last CFL grow.
However they are fun. Have all of mine in operation right now on a 2 small cab grow. 5 plants total.
Here is a selection of CFL pics from this latest grow. As you can see I like to load in as many as possible, temps and space permitting.
I'll not say goodbye to CFL's in any case. Still plan to use them for veg and propagation.
