they still are selling them, but supplies are limited and like it says phillips apparently is done making more of them...
damn this is now making me reconsider once again... I think I'd rather use those 330w Allstarts...

And I'd rather use a 315w Elite bulb lol. Any of the Philips CMHs are a good choice.
If you get a 400w switchable ballast then you could use a 330w or a 400w retro white... Do a grow under each bulb and decide which turns out better?

Shouldn't be a problem.
It's my understanding, that any MH lamp sold in the US is required to use coatings and glass for the bulb jacket to reduce UV output (unless made for reptiles, tanning, sanitizing, etc.). MH lamps generate gobs of UV-A, -B, and -C and without it, they would fry anything too close! So, if it's a MH based lamp, you still get UV, just not much more than a plant can handle.

Looks good... But I'd have to say what you're testing out is a Philips bulb. Guess if the test goes well then DNA gets the credit and they become all the rage? lol
