Ceramic Metal Halide (CMH)

Room temps are 68.8 to max 75. The setup would be fan>cool tube>filter(outside)

I believe it's hard to tell as nobody has the same setup as I would.

Anyone else here that tried 250w in a smaller cab?

OK, so here are some pics of day 63. EC is at .5, slight tip burn......
but really healthy.....Much healthier than the HPS grows that preceded this one!
V&B only! Whole way through flower.
The tops that I did the Charmin test on were rock hard. Frost is good, about average for this strain.
The tale of the scale is yet to come, but it looks like 315w is going to equal or best 600w of HPS. the plants sure look happier.

Here are 5 JBxSWTBLU ladies in a tent under 1 - 400w 4k CMH and 1 - 150w 3k CMH (metrolight eballast). They are in 2g smart parts in coco dtw. crappy phone pics. 21-25days 12/12 or so. Not my tent. Just watching it for a day or two. I germinated and vegged these for the first two weeks.

can anyone tell me why we get those stripes in photo's when using CMH? i want to take pics of my grow but i always get those lines in the pics?

i have been growing with CMH only for several years now, 400w x3 Phillips bulbs is what i use.

Depends on where ya go. With this bulb the phone is your friend.
It's going to require legwork.

The reflector and the room play a huge roll as well.

pricerange sounds a "bit" too expensive for cheap people like me..folks do pay similar watt/dollar for leds, if they know/believe that the end result will be superior. the small 150 watt cdms are in similar prices to hps in that range tho. edit: the 830w seems affordable as well if space to run it.

tenthirty really nice pics. plants seem happy.

Azeotrope - A lot of questions... II', looking to buy a fixture by philips that run the same bulb you're using in your cab, may I ask you how measures? Area that can effectively cover? And at least, what about the heat?

TY for the attention

JW - Heat is less than a comparable HPS, but it is still an HID. Now, I am using a modified freezer that is 27"x24". So as it falls within an area of expertise for me, I was able to accomidate this bulb without any worry of heat troubles. If I put in a little more effort, I could probably manage the heat from 2 x 315w.

Finding a fixture to just pull out of a box and run is difficult at the moment. It is best to do what rives and I have done...... Buy the ballast, buy the socket and then the bulb. Retrofit an existing reflector or hood by replacing the mogul socket with the PGZ18 required for this bulb. Then to find a home or proper enclosure for the 240v ballast....... I have plenty of NEMA3 enclosures laying around and industrial time clocks, so I just ran a circuit from the breaker panel, added a 20A twist lock outlet and went from there.

You can buy fixtures using this bulb and ballast that I think would be an easy mod though. Try

So, my 942 is now here and I am so tempted to trade it for the 930 just to see it! However at 16days 12/12, I am unsure that it would be the best move. Thinking about going about another 12 to 28days and then putting the 942 in to finish. It peaks in the red at 660 and has a lot of blue in a couple of spots that I believe drive photosynthesis very well....... I am also a believer that blue is beneficial to terpine production. That might be hogwash, but I was sold on it years ago.

I think that I'm liking these things damn near as much as my girls are. This is 20 days of 12/12, and have been running them at a total of +/- 480 watts (2 lamps).

rives - Those girls are looking fab!!!! Nice job! Lots of folks can put up a good light, but it still takes know-how to keep the girls happy and healthy.

What genetics are the girls?

Hard to say. I bought several BOG clones about three years ago, including Sour Bubble BX4, Sour Lifesaver, and Diesel. This is the Diesel, but when I researched it, I could never find any information. I finally asked BOG about it, and he said that while he had used Diesel in a couple of his offerings, he had never sold any of the Diesel seeds/clones. It looks very similar to the other plants, but doesn't have the long veg times required by the Sour Bubble and it has much higher yields.

Better than other lighting that you've tried???

I'm not ready to go quite that far, but I'm leaning that way. It will be really interesting to see how they finish up. You can't see it in that picture, but......

Well hell, I had to go take another couple of pictures. The flowers are already "chaining" down the stems - I don't think that I have ever seen that happening this early before.
