Categorizing Cannabis Strains According to Benefits

This thread is going to be created with your help. I would like to categorize all the different strains that you guys (and gals) have tried into "effects" categories, such as strains that relieve anxiety, strains that relieve back pain, strains that help you eat, etc.

So, all that you need to do is give me the strains that you have tried, the beneficial effects (and even non-beneficial ones, too) that you felt, and I'll continuously edit this first post to categorize the strains that we have based on their "overall" perceived effects.

I hope that this thread will be able to help people choose strains that they like according to the effects/benefits that they need, without having to go searching all over the place to find the information, although I understand there is some variation across strains and such.

Thanks for all your help...I'll add my own experiences, as well. And even if the strain(s) that you list has more than one benefit, we will still list the strain under all the applicable categories.

It would also be a good idea to try to include the name of the breeder if the strain may not be well-known.

As another ICmag member Megas pointed out, "t should be noted that of course Indica and Sativa have varied effects. On a strain by strain basis one might not produce the same effects for 2 different people." Keep this in mind if you are planning on using these guidelines; remember to take the information with a grain of salt.

I'll see what I can put together. Right off the bat I can tell you that the sativas with the lemon scent are good for anti-depression and anxiety. Princess Diesel is also a powerful anti-depressant.

Buffoonman, smoking cannabis can have positive effects for dealing with asthma. Within the cannaboids cannabis facilitates as a bronchodilator. This reduces airway resistance and improves airflow. It stimulates the tiny hairs that line the inside of the lungs. Have you tried alternate methods of ingestion such as a vaporizer or edibles? This would still allow the benefits and reduce the irratation caused by excess smoking of vegetative matter.

Smoking hash works well too

I know that cannabis is not going to affect everyone in the same way. These are meant to be guidelines and starting points. If there is a large number of people who disagree with a categorization, then it will be changed.

Although this thread may be similar to others, it tries to make categorization as easy as possible (format, especially). I understand that naming strains into specific categories kinda simplifies the strains themselves, but sometimes it's necessary to do so. Think about some times when you want to ask people what strains are good for...(fill in the blanks). This is a great starting point if you are one of those people.

Morning hippie lettuce My post and reference to the other thread was in no way a poke at this one. I applaud your efforts and wish only to contribute. There can never be too much reference material for patients seeking medical advice. If there is anything I can do to help just ask. Us bad girls have to stick together.

I also agree with megas and yourself about the differences between genetics and how they are recieved differently by different people. The flowering time or stage of maturity for the trichomes can also have an impact on the effect imo.
