Caregivers, what are you offering patients?

MOPHO,
I hope you are right about local LEO respecting higher plant counts and being lenient with respect to clones/seedlings. Can you ask your lawyer (assuming it isn't Warren Edson whose opinion should be stamped on toilet paper) if the north metro drug task force gestapo will be respecting the higher plant count recs too? Or are we still in for a domestic terrorism experience anytime Jerry Peters shows up at our door?

Im pretty sure where Still2big is gonna be growing, the cops WILL recognize the plant count, also I can attest to his meds, still some of the best bud I have gotten in CO!

I could ask, but I'm based in Boulder County, and my attorney, Jeff Gard, is also Boulder based....his usual responses to anything involving North Metro or Larimer County is "stay the hell away". We rely on the legal insulation that Boulder gives us...I can't really comment on anywhere else....

I am scared just to drive through N. Metro... Living there would be out of the question!

Yeah, I need to get back to the mountains. To hell with the north metro burbs.

I know people are situated in the communities they are and don't want to leave their jobs/friends/family/house/etc., but if you are trying to be a legal grower, location is everything!!! You need not only cool local LEO, but cool neighbors, and a community that will back you up if you are getting harassed by LEO. This is true on a national level (i.e. growing in Colorado or California, versus Florida or Utah), and also true on a local level (i.e. growing in Nederland or Denver proper, versus Greeley or Broomfield).

I agree with you 100% and think I need to break my lease early and get the hell out of here. Was just talking about this with a buddy earlier today after reading about the latest gestapo raid in thornton where the lady had like 15 plants. I'm actually going to start searching soon so I can find something during the slow season. If anybody knows a good rental agent for gilpin/summit/evergreen areas please pm. thanks

I know that Still2big might have a realtor in Boulder County up in Ned...

Can I still grow 36-99 plants in a residential house in boulder county? I heard that in boulder county you cant grow anymore than 6 plants at a residential location.

Not true. I've been going to all of the Boulder County and Nederland meetings regarding 1284, and Boulder county will be licensing home caregivers and offering an in-home occupation license, which you need to allow you to run any business in your home. They haven't taken it into consideration in yet that according to 1284, a caregiver can't make money or even be a business, they only took into consideration that there will be ALOT of caregivers with 5 patients or less growing in their homes within Boulder County, and that they need to be aware of that (not stop it). I've heard mostly positive things with Boulder County regulations, it seems they don't want to mess with people's home businesses, no matter what they are...just stay out of Niwot.

with 10 patients, on a 10 week perpetual, harvest 3 plants a week, one plant covers the 2 1/2 zips to give a 1/4 zip a week to each patient, with a QP to cover the grow and growers.

so each patient would get a zip a month, with a LB left for the growers. pretty much a grand a week for the grower, minus expenses.

if ya cant survive on that, your finances are outta whack imo. if your lookin to live a bit more comfortable, then i could see where ya wouldnt be able to offer free meds.

there are those that look to help others out with the high cost of meds, and those that see the scene as a way to make money. your gonna have abuse, and greed no matter what, its the american way.

i just dont see how someone can be a caregiver, for someone thats sick, grow there plants and then charge um for it. i dont see how someone can twist it around and make it right in there mind.

i do know there are plenty of younguns that are licensed and are tokein for rec use, we dont take um on for there plant count, mainly cause there a pain in the ass. we have one patient under 40, with degenerative disks, all others are over 50.

I was also at the BoCo zoning meeting, I tried to get agriculture zoned in for mmj but to no avail, unless you were already doing it, then they might grandfather you in...

In UNINCORPORATED BoCo they are going by the current regulations for home businesses, which means the home must primarily be used as a residence and it must fit into the character of the neighborhood, dumping smelly air was mentioned specifically as something that could be seen as disturbing this character. So, as long as your grow is hidden and your neighbors don't complain (never tell 'em) BoCo should be ok.

I'm SOOOOOO happy I bought a house in BoCo :)

edit: maybe I wasn't paying attention, but I didn;t hear anything about licensing a CG...

Until HB1284 you could have a 24 plant count from your doc and if the cops came they would just laugh at you. It is actually recongnized under the new bill.

This is a good thing.

Hate to say it but..... I'm now totally and completely NOT interested in becoming a caregiver. *sigh* Would LOVE to help out patients with my owngrown..... but I'm sticking with teaching them how to grow their own. We need more quality growers in Col anyway.

Kudos to those that decide to jump those flaming hoops... there are many patients that need what you can do.

Stay Safe! :tree:

God this is pathetic. If your meds are half as good as you say you shouldn't have to be giving them away.

First of all 25 plant edibles recommendations are easy as hell to get and shouldn't be valued. Every patient that I have signed up from scratch has gotten an edibles license. The only patients I have that don't have them are the ones that didn't know about them and already had their cards when they signed me.

Second, you should know that the higher plant count still probably wont mean shit if the drug task force knocks on/in your door. It's an affirmative defense and will cost you 15k plus to prove your innocence. Even with the signing of hb1284, if you expect for the cops/nazis to be on the same page as the current law, then you are expecting too much.

So if your shit is really the bomb, don't give it away and drive down the market value! $250/oz + free delivery, should be as low as anyone goes on bomb indoor.

How did patients all of a sudden get the negotiating leverage with the passing of HB1284? Caregivers get restricted to 5 patients and can no longer sell to any non patients and now we are expected to give it away for free?

I don't think so. Hell, I'm actually considering having a minimum requirement like 2oz/mo at this point. People act as if it's so tough to find patients. What's the deal?

I probably dont have to give any meds away but im taking in really sick people going thru chemo and the like. Its nice helping people that need it. Im also not going to be growing more than 6 plants per patient. Just like to have a larger plant count than whats growing.

As far as market value goes, there is no way in hell im going to go from looking at 5 years in the pen for growing to completely legal and charge the same damn prices. Im not that big of a piece of shit...at least i like to think im not!! haha

And thanks for the compliment Cannagirl! Cant wait to see what you guys do with the Charm.

yeah we were there too. Im hoping they change the zoning to include ag in the future. Good meeting though, those guys were all pretty positive about it.

You're not completely legal and you probably never will be as long as you live/grow in America. It doesn't matter what kind of paper you have on your wall. If you grow cannabis in the United States of America in 2010 you are risking your freedom and financial stability. Some Colorado caregivers feel way to comfortable. If I'm taking on the risk of having armed domestic terrorists break into my house and shoot my dog and traumatize me forever you better fucking pay me or we have nothing to talk about. This aint Florida no, but it aint Spain either. Just saying...

And I don't see how caregivers can be so naive and self deprecating. Do you get your equipment, genetics, nutrients and electricity for free? Do you have a trust fund to pay your rent/food/gas/etc so that you don't have to make money to survive?

I have 5k in medical bills I have to pay currently for an accident that resulted in an ambulance ride to the ER that was not my fault. I don't have health insurance or uninsured beaner coverage. I can't believe those bastards at the hospital didn't give everything to me for free, wtf? Why should those doctors be paid for all the time they went to medical school? Why should that hospital get to charge me for using their million dollar MRI machines? I should get those services for free dammit!

Oh yeah, and also, you can no longer have 10 patients, OR wholesale that lb a month overflow to any dispensaries. So wtf are you talking about anyway?
