Yea that ratio is fine for the first 2 weeks of flower. I should have clarified that. But after that you want more (p) in the diet to promote bud growth.

Now, on a side note blackvelvet get the fuck outta here man. :bat: You are attacking niki when she is here for the right reasons and you not so much! :moon: You are ego driven. I also cant believe you tried to attack her over asking a question about feeding herbs :yoinks: Some of us do not spend our entire life reading texts books at the library and living on a computer. We learn as we go.

.....what about using bone and blood meal?

How about using anything but hardware store variety houseplant ferts?

Heres a good method for choosing ferts .. does the fert brand make a suitable first or last name? Then dont buy it.

That means no Peter's, no Scott's, no Schultz's

Sub method for choosing ferts.. does the fert name employ a creative use of the english language to avoid reality?

Should Miracle-Gro really be called Miracle-Salt?

I agree that there are some fantastic nutrients and soils out there. I would only say that if you have no access to a specialized grow store or have doubts with internet purchasing, there are some perfectly acceptable products from the "last name" department. I used them through this entire first indoor grow of mine, had no problems and am quite pleased with the results. Also, may I add, that Mango is kick-ass!! :joint:

Yeah. Cannabis has made me realize how evolved certain plants are.

Houseplants have been taking fertilizer for a long time, cannabis has mostly been in the wild and relied on organic materials.

I still can't believe such a plant is so adaptable, I mean its a freaking plant!! It will grow anywhere when it isnt frosting. When I read about growing in the matanuska valley i was in amazement you could grow in alaska.

I bet once Universities other than Ole Miss start getting heavy into the research of the plant something amazing is going to happen, hopefully b4 wwIII.

anyway, what kind of fertilizer would you guys recommend? Organic or inorganic doesn't matter but there is a very small budget involved.

Look for a micro grow soon!

drewbie got the kit.

As far as I can tell, the ph is almost completely neutral. But after the water dries a little it looks like its almost completely alkaline, which I wouldn't doubt.

Sorry BV wrong again.. [ amazingly you seem to skip the basics of plant science even though you claim to have a hort degree. ]

Even you should know from the # of times I have schooled you on sulfur that a sulfate isnt sulfur.

Plants dont take in sulfates [ SO4 ] they take in sulfur in the form of SO2 which needs to go from SO4 to SO2 via sulfuric acid [ H2SO4 ] .. some which is natural to a small degree in organic soils but too much is going to affect trace element uptake. Sulfuric acid breaks down trace elements to become SO2 making them unusable to the plant.

Sorry Verwrong...

Plants do take in SO4. Sulfates also do not affect ph.

I concur deeply with this question/ statement... There are plenty of organic options (esp nowadays) available to you, even at wal-mart of all places... Get some sphangum moss, castings, perlite, bone and blood meal, kelp, dolomite lime, and I like using a touch of mushroom compost (when available, no biggie if not) and thats it... Check around here, they have great mixes listed throughout icmag... A rough guide would be 4 parts moss, to 3 parts perlite, 2 parts castings, 1 part compost, 1 1/2 tbls bone meal, lil less than 1 tbls of blood meal, 1/2 tbls of kelp, 1 tbls of dolomite lime (per gallon, and if you can only find pellets just crush them up before mixing) and mix it all up , lightly wet it down, and let it sit out for 10-14 days, and voila, you have a great organic medium to grow the dankest medicine... JAH Bless

Oh and by the way this should carry you through most of veg... If you can't find castings, ask your local nursery to order you some, or just produce your own worm castings...Though it is more convenient to just get em by the bag... Bone and blood meal are good to carry you through, but it is better to make teas or use bottled liquid ferts... I think home depot carries liquid castings now...
