Thanks guys...other than one visible seed on one of the Mangos the others seem to not have been pollinated. The LUI is definitely still virgin, and looking very very frosty. Hard to tell with the Mangos 'cause they're so damn big and leafy...when I stand in front of them the canopy is over my head, I have to bend the branches downwards to see the buds. They're a good 6 ft in 3 gallon pots

I would have sacrificed all of those plants just to have that Puna, but hey....things don't always work out. I'll be meeting Adam of TH Seeds in Amsterdam and will definitely talk to him about the entire Puna ordeal

Love your Moose blue, hermies are plants too. :biglaugh: Just wanted to see how the garden grows. By the way I checked out your Cool Tube and and fan set-up on your other thread, me likey. I'll take that moose, I'll take anything, I don't know anybody in this God-forsaken state. Got transferred here and smokin wood almost sounds reasonable. :joint:

Good times and keep living the dream! :friends:

Hey there, BV! While it is a bummer about the Puna, it still looks damn tasty to me! It isn't very heavily seeded at all based on those pics. My bet is it's still gonna be some pretty amazing smoke. What the hell have you got to lose, girl? Let'r rip . . I say!!

I'm going to dry her and cure her normally, see how she smokes.
Way to go Blue, I’ve had this happen to me before and it smoked just fine, like HOG said underdeveloped seeds didn’t heart my smoke any at all…………….I always wind up smoking those buds because there heard to get ride of, know what I mean.

Hi guys!

Puff, thanks for stopping by  Now that I found the perfect setup for the size of my cab, cool tube, fan, blower...my cab suddenly seems way too small :biglaugh: I'm never satisfied  I'd even give ya the Moose, only I live about 6,000 miles across the Atlantic

Rellik, hey there! The Moose was heavily seeded around the bottom, the top buds aren't overly seedy, but they're terribly skimpy...all the energy went to produce the seeds. She's hanging to dry as of this morning.

Big Toke, I know what you mean  Hurts too bad to just count the plant as trimmings without sampling it....I may just be pleasantly surprised :yummy:

I have a couple of pics of the LUI today. Before I post them, I was wondering if anyone can help me figure this out - I have three Mangos, 2 of which are looking close to being done, good resin production and they're getting that done/dank look/smell to them. I wouldn't give them more then 2 weeks to go tops. The one that has me wondering is the third Mango. Size-wise she's as large as the other two, the only notable difference is that she's slightly paler green than the other two (no deficiencies, she's healthy as can be). Problem is she looks like she's barely at 3 weeks flower (she's at 51 today), hardly any trich production at all, the buds are immature looking, though not terribly small compared to the other two plants, she's acting like some kind of landrace sativa....as if her flowering period is 90 - 100 days instead of the 60 days she's supposed to take to finish.

The plant is no further from the light than any of my plants have ever been in this cab. I'm stumped on this one. Anyone have any ideas? Opinions? Input? :whip: :D

Here's the LUI at 51 days flower. Pistils just now beginning to change colors to a very pale pink. I took tons of pictures this morning but I guess I'm so nervous I can't take a clear pic for the life of me. These two are the only ones worth posting:

This one has trichs galore! Pics were taken without flash

I can only imagine if the growing environment is the same, that the reason for one mango being under developed along side the others is her genetic makeup? Im interested to know others opinions.

Lovely photography Blue :joint:
I sent off skippy to keep you company on your flight but i dont know if he will make it to you by the time you leave...anyway i hope you have a really good time at the cup, im sure you will, what a party! :joint:

FJ, yeah... the hermie experience is new to me and I NEVER want to go through it again...I have hermie-phobia as defined by Female Seeds, incurable and I would love for him to pop in here, read all about my Puna plant, and then try to cure me of my hermie-phobia

Looks nice don't it Fredster? :D Fortunately the Puna pollinated only herself, might find a couple of seeds in one of the Mangos, but the damage to the other plants seems null. Overwatering during flower I'm certain can cause pretty nasty problems...but before I give my plants water, even in seedling stage, their soil looks and feels like the Sahara...when I lift the pots I want to feel air before I give 'em water.

Leeroy you probably hit the nail on the head, she's more than likely a different pheno. Remnember when they were young oone of them looked to be heavier on the sativa side? Might be this plant (I didn't label them differently). Lordy though, she better finish on up 'cause in May its hot enough here to be a problem for the plants, I usually shut down the grow end of April max!

Skippyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy how nice! If he gets here he's coming with me and we will take fluffy marsupial bud pics at the Cup so you can see that I know how to show Skippy a good time :D Thanks sweetie :friends:

WOW!!! ~ now those LUI look like some killer stuff right there, very frosty need!! I’m quite sure that as your smoking that you’ll not even think about the other ~ for that matter you may not do any thinking about any thing!!!!!!

LOL Big Toke :D You may have a point there!. That LUI is the only Indica in a forest of dankest sativa....I'm hoping the three Mangos are gonna be good....they'll yeild for sure (they're huge!), I do like my sativas, but smoke primarily to be able to sleep the night through, sativa's just don't do the trick for that

She is VERY nice...excellent trich production, and she still has about 2 weeks to go yet. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to post some pics of the Mangos.

Big Toke, by the way, I've been mentoring via pm a new grower who goes by the handle of samonz. Spent a good half hour yesterday writing about your Bio-Buckets system. He'd expressed an interest in trying his hand at hydro, and I immediately pointed him in the right (your) direction. He's worthy of your help, if he does show up on your threads. He's very curious, applies himself very well, and you don't have to repeat yourself, he picks up immediately. A+ student :D

Your photography is great!! Did you just start taking pictures or have you been taking them for a long time?

Thanks BT...I started when I bought my cam, in September :D I'm artistically inclined and that may help in regard to composition, but I'm also very satisfied with my cam's performance. I still don't know how to use half the features on it, but it works ok  If you're curious, it's a Konica-Minolta Dimage Z10, 3.2 Megapixels and 8X optical zoom, paid 260 Euro for it which is about US$300,00 at the going rates.

Aloha Again,

Blue, do you use a jewelers loop to view the Glandular trichomes?

I have found that for some strains it is the only real way to harvest at ripeness.

Some of my tropical strains have a four-five day window for harvest.

Harvest too early and too much CBA. (Cannabinol) (head high)

Harvest too late and too much CBD. (Cannabidiol) (body high)

If the trichs look amber = too late

If the trichs look clear = too early

If the trichs look full and opaque (almost frosty) and they are past clear and not yet yellow/brown when viewed close-up you have a winner.

I will cut no bud before its time.

Peace, Ciao, Tot Ziens, Aloha.

ps... my daughter (and I) thinks your Art was way cool!

Morning HG, yes I do use a jeweler's loup to examine my plants more closely, but last grow speicifically to see the trichs better I bought a small hand held 10X - 40X microscope. I think I'm going to let my Mangos go just a bit further than they should, wait for a few amber trichs...they're just too sativa dom for my evening smoke

Nice to hear you both enjoyed my art, looking at your own pieces I had the idea your taste might be similar to my own. Where did you get that yeti you posted? It is a yeti isn't it?

We seem to be missing the Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer show here in Italy HG... I like Gadzooks :D

Take a look at the Mangos today...the plants are so large I can't move them out of the grow, nor can I get a full plant shot, so y'all will have to settle for buds at lights on

Can you say Sativa?

1562Mango52-3.jpg

1562Mango52-4.jpg

1562Mango52-2.jpg

1562Mango52-1.jpg

Buds have the typical sativa foxtail conformation, but look nice and tight...not as tight as an indica, but not as airy as the pure sats. Trichs are tiny, again typical of sativas, but nice production, no flash on these pics...no optical illusions

These plants are practically odor free, I can only catch a really good whiff of them in the mornings before the lights go on, and only now in late flower. Same deal with the LUI....if you get close to the plant you can smell a wonderful hashy odor, but outside of the grow you don't smell it.

The Mangos smell very pungent/skunky, but are acquiring a hint of fruit in their bouquet now that they're almost done. I think two of them will be ready to chop as soon as I get back from the Cup.
