First grow diary so bear with me.
This is going to be a guerrilla grow breeding project. I want to get a few nice strains that are sativa dominate that will finish in my harsh Canadian climate.
I have several years of growing experience; most of which was indoors. But that was about 15 years ago. Having just ran across the forums recently I’ve been inspired by all the great growers to pull my green thumb out of my ass and try my own grow. I can’t grow indoors anymore so I’m going into the wilderness.
After spending far too much time this winter reading the forums (at least according to my girlfriend) I was amazed with the lengths you guys go to get materials up to your plots and then the effort you put in to the preparation and care of your plants. But I’m an old gorilla and the hair on my back is starting to turn silver. So there is no way I want to carry a bale of soil up a hill. I will try and build the best soil with what I can find in my plot area with basic amendments for PH and nutrients. So for my grow I’ve decided first and foremost I need to identify a strong strain that will flourish and produce decent yields of quality buds with minimal care. So I will not be pampering my strains at all, no spraying for bugs, no hand watering, no mould prevention, there will be stress. The strong will survive to the next step of breeding.

Now onto my strains:
Bangi Haze, Tikal –Ace seeds
Durban poison, Shaman – Dutch passion
Serious 6 – Serious seeds
BC Pinewarp – BC Bud depot
After extensive research I picked stains that I felt had good resistance to mold and cold and are proven outdoor strains. All of these strains will be crossed with Bangi males. I picked the Bangi Haze for the pollen chuck because... well I’ve never read a bad word about this strain and the mold resistance is said to be amazing. I feel the pure Bangi will probably not have time to fully finish at my Latitude. All the other strains were picked with early finish in mind.
The seeds were started on 4/20/2015 and were grown indoors under a 80w cfl that I pulled out of the garbage. I kept the plants under low light so I could try and keep the height down. This was for transportation purposes. Everything is hiked into the plot in a backpack.
About 5 inches and going on 5th node. Ready for outdoors.
