On a lighter note, we need to discover what animals and plants are available to us in this scenario. Our survival depends on knowing whats available to eat and use. There are river beds so we might get mud dwelling fish/amphibians. There are trees so we might get mammals and the floor would no doubt provide bugs. We also know there are birds around so we need to know which.

So as far as the avatar goes it appears Thirdeye is correct on its origins. Something a bit unbeknownst to me when I chose it from a FREE avatar selection. I'll see if I can find the URL. I admit, at first I thought ThirdEye, photo shopped my avatar just trying to start some shit. Seems he's telling the truth on that aspect though.

I did in fact choose it because of the black, white, and red. (German Imperial Flag), I'm German by heritage, but being German doesn't make someone a racist. Go ahead and say it does... I'm sure many others with such heritage in here will have a disagreement with you.

I've studied WWII history for many years, ALL SIDES, ALL COUNTRIES. Being that I didn't study "hate" how would I have known my previous avatar was of that nature?

In your scenario, the high plateau area out West is where I grew up and one can conquer it if one is prepared. You doomed your surviver to death with the naked and no tool routine. Esp. with the weather you describe. Maybe one of the early mountain men might have been able to survive in this scenario, but I don't think most of us modern folks could, no matter how much experience we have.

well i was homeless for several years and managed to live in a debris hut for almost 6 months of it. the funny thing is i got a lot of shit from it from all the other guy but while all my buddies were getting soaked by the rain in their tents, my debris shelter was 100% water proof on the inside. however, i built it by a huge river that ran through the city and after lots of rain from a hurricane that came inland i lost it to extreme flooding. i thought i built it back far enough and the river would never reach it but i also didn't expect this hurricane. i put a lot of work into it. constantly adding to it and building it up. it looked so awesome. almost something you'd see in cast away or something haha. i had pictures of the hut but those are lost to the streets. i guess i wasn't in the wild, but i always said i was living wild in the city. and i did. i lived in it almost 3 years ago. ive sine thought about returning to something similar but in the woods and not the city. i lived such a simple life and loved it. now i have a job and obligations and i hate it. god dammit, i was born like 200 years to late or something....

just thought i'd share that so maybe we can get this thing back on topic even just a little bit.

Even though deer and elk droppings can contain bacteria that make you sick, you still need to drink water to keep hydrated. Always drink from flowing water, not stagnant pools. I drank that water the first 18 years of my life and never got sick.

Wicked, now we are all sorted i'd like it if smoking chopper can maybe fill us in a little more with how we are doing in surviving his environ. We have covered the immediate needs i hope and should be moving on to travel and storage. Get a wiggle on too dude, people are cold, hungry and tired here.
