Judging by how these toxins survived contact with chloforom, ethyl acetate, and methanol, I am going to go out on a limb and say, "NO it will not kill toxins."

Also uncool how the toxin promotes liver cancer and mycotoxic leukoencephalomalacia. leuko meaning concentrated in white cells and encephalomalacia being Infarction of the brain. Any softening or fragmentation of the brain.

glad I read this, thanks for sharing experiences, you've saved me wondering what to do if it happens to me or my friends ;)

In the lack of quantity we ingest I personally don't believe if there were any toxins it would be bad. There are millions of mold spores in the air floating around and we breathe them every day. Some mold can produce toxins that can be harmful some donot. If you have moldy oil how do we know there was said toxins in it? If you only knew how much crap is in the air we breathe every day you would almost want to wear a mask. It all boils down to if you feel something is unsafe don't smoke it.

Cheers for the article NG, I read the full text however I'm not sure how relevant it is for iso.

It is certainly enough of a warning to keep me from using that oil for anything quite yet. I have read so many times that BHO?ISO is fine with moldy buds, so many people must have smoked/be smoking questionable product.

Would anything kill the spores and the toxins, even if it did destroy the thc and other goodies?

Chief - Correct the amount in the oil per consumption amount, probably isn't too high, and yes most molds are harmless. You nailed it, "It all boils down to if you feel something is unsafe don't smoke it." I just feel the risk is too great, and could not in good faith recommend it to someone.

We also cannot rule out the possibility that the mold came from his fridge. I am pretty confident that perhaps the white mold came from the pot, and then as it grew, provided organic matter for the green mold from the fridge to grow on? I have not seen green mold on Marijuana before. white/gray mold is common though.

To destroy the mold toxins? With disregard to the thc and other contents? Many ways.... Burn it, lower pH with acid, but there is not point to this really.

Ok, but what about plant's that had mold in the system throughout their entire lives, but produce no spores after harvest. I was able to keep my spores almost completely non visible, but my plants where infected the whole time.... Wouldn't the mold still wash into your hash? While a BHO or ISO would almost kill it. Not to say that there aren't possible bi-products (toxic, or not...).

^^^^Although there are spores in the air, the conditions have to be right for the mold to multiply. We all have mold spores in our grow rooms but if temp and humidity are too high then you will see it start to take hold. There could very well be some spores in our bud and we may never know it, on that account I don't think you would see it show up untill there was a humidity temp problem with the storage of your oil. Keep in mind I'm no scientist, barely passed biology 25 years ago, and I may be completely talking out my ass so take it for what it's worth.
