Calling out the pros! give a bortha a hand

1 ton of A/C for vertical light set up like most tree growers do it (which would be 4 trees in a room that size, approx 5kw lighting) would be too little. I have very little experience with horizontal air cooled hoods, so I have no idea how much a/c you would need for a 10x10 room. The best way to grow for $ is sea of green, but that would mean forgetting the 12 plants and having closer to 100. You can stay on one card if you do a freedom bucket type grow. I have no experience with bio buckets, but that 9elbs off of 3400 watts or whatever it was was something like 30 plants.

Bio Buckets are looking nice, and i think horiz lighting willl work fine in air cooled tubes. I will grow no taller than 3 to 4 feet per plant but bush the shit out of it
buy cuttin or training.

Kiefhead:your right, think im gonna go for a 12,000 btu and put it in the window i think it should fit. if not im gonna get a portable one, just a AC, as it dehumidifys anyways and runs out the hoses.... liek 70 litters a day... there are plenty of options. i will go with the one with less wattage, and more BTU.. the 3 in one was 1500 watts... yikes... the AC only portable 12,ooo is like 950.... thats more up my alley, plus i can have a set temp for it to turn off like at 70 degrees.... :)

great advice guys. Think im going with Bio Buckets. Seems easy enough. and seems that water flow per hour is more and that probably would be economical as no AIR pumps, and it creats its own o2. So im still not sure how im gonna do this. but i gotta get her done in the next ooooo.... 3 weeks. HAHAHHAHAHA

o the pressure

E. Dunno if an 8k window unit is gonna be enough for 2KW+ of light...it will probably work if you air cool the hoods and live in a moderate climate though. Do any of the other homes in your area have window unit ACs?
I forgot to answer your question. I dont notice any no.. eveyrone seems to have central air. but i can use a portable one? or just say fuck it cuz im legal and they can wonder all they want..... LOL my landlord knows im disabled and seems cool as hell

There's a window air conditioner called a "casement" model, and they are usually 14.5 inches wide. They will fit almost any window, and they are available on ebay. I can find a listing if you want it. Incidentally, 14.5 inches is the distance between studs in a standard 16" stud wall. You can fit one between the studs in a standard wall if that opens up any options for you. Doubt the landlord would like that though. LOL

Something else to consider. If your area is subject to brownouts or power failures, no matter how brief, some of the newer digital models do not come back on after a hit. You have to turn them on again. Some have a memory, many do not. Be sure to look for this if you think it is a consideration where you are.

Cool...as long as it's normal for folks in your area to have AC it shouldn't be a problem. I don't think I'd advertise that you've got it, but if someone sees it they shouldn't get overly nosy just from seeing it.

ya only problem is the window slides from side to side... one side opens. Probably 18 inchs. so i would have to board up the rest of the opening of the window not being used by the AC?

Kief... You might have something with the hole in the wall. nothing a little spakle and paint cant fix? i think i have a vent i can do it! but thats a HUGE hole to cut into dry wall and very distructive? or easy to replace? I dunno. Might just settle with 9000 btu with Central AC, since this would be my cheapest route. With fans etc..... i will shut off all vents but into there. and maybe put the therm in the room. Just an idea. Any other thoughts or ideas?

Yeah, you're still stuck with covering the rest of the window. Some simple curtains tucked around the AC will make it look normal from the outside...then just cover then entire inside of the window with panda and cut out a hole slightly smaller than the AC and stretch the panda around the AC and seal it with a little foil backed tape. It'll be light proof from the outside but still look "normal" to anyone that might see it.

If you can duct off the heat on the other side of the wall and drain the moisture, then that very well might be a good option...just make sure there's no wires or pipes in the section that you want to use and hack a hole in there.

Sheetrock is pretty easy to repair...I fixed a 1'x2' hole me and my brother created while wrestling when I was 13 before my dad got home from work and he didn't notice it for over a year...good times :D

uhhh...how? read his post again he's a MEDICAL USER.
that material would just make green butter that tastes like pot.
no potency to it, which, from his first post, it appears he is after.
uh i have dealt with med patients plenty when in cali. actually left over wet trim makes better butter as the water has leached out the chlorphyl {sp?} and other nasties. but you have to use a little more . any time you want better butter try soaking the weed for a while in cool water and change it till it stays clear. i been bubbling and growing a while i aint no newbee

Lowes, HD and most other home improvement stores carry them in the outdoor gardening area...I think the last one I bought was around $25 for a 8'x12', but don't quote me on that.

Unquote... :bat:

On a more rational note - how about using a waterbed liner? You'd have to build some sort of support structure, but they're very strong. Just a thought.

No i dont have a drain. i am using this to prevent leak to the floor. Where can i get water bed lining.

ANd if i use pool lining, what should i use to tape it to the walls? blue tape? or is there a special pond tape?

getting ready to set up!

With either you shouldn't have any problems just stapling it to the wall...6" up the sides of the wall should be plenty. If you're anal about the possible aesthetics of the staples, you can use some foil backed tape to seal the edge to the wall and cover the staples.

Water bed lining? Yellow pages under waterbeds, or some regular bed stores sell waterbeds too.

Pool lining will probably be less expensive, and should do what you want just fine. Waterbed lining is quite heavy, though it lasts forever.

I like MTFs idea about the aluminum duct tape. One time hitting the walls with an accidental splash of water, and the tape will keep it out of the floor and walls behind the liner.

had my first leak..... OMG... o well. i installed carpet for years. im not worried about it... but its making me rethink this hydro thing...... might just stay organic, and shop vac everything. in tots, or have some pans made for me at a metal shop.... To me this makes more sense for my own personal use, then i can use the extra money on Co2!

whatcha think? im a fickle person? lol i just hate hard work after hard work LOL
