I meant more for light Dep .. and so you can grow year around ...it is so small would be easy to cover .....I have a 10 x10 x7 GH ..i have to cover there are to many lights from neighbors for my liking ..

THIS!

I just had the "Well, it has to go outdoor once we get kids.." conversation w/ ye olde lady tonight.

I've been eyeing a GH for some time (for legitimate purposes!), and just today, it occurred to me, the issue of the dark period. I'm not far from neighbors, or heck, even my own motion lights on the garage.. So I was wondering what's the best, most discrete, way to set up a light deprive situation..?

(Discrete = me not having to go tug a black "cover" down over the f*cking greenhouse every night, repealing it in the morning. )

:)

Easy solution, speaking from experience...use trashcans and grow 2-3ft plants. Use the lid every night to cover them up...does that help?

If you have to use a gh then maybe take them into a garage everynight for awhile? Or grow them inside until they are big enough to just put outside and from 24-18hrs veg time to 14-12hrs they should pop right into flower so no deprivation needed. Peace!

Things are moving along here, my only wonder is if I am receiving enough light....I'm pretty sure they will do fine, I've grown outdoors in this same spot before with a plastic covering and the buds were very nice. The plants are all starting to flower now, and I gave them a small amount of MOAB to help induce flowering as well.

I have been leaving the door open during the day, to get air movement. I bought a couple of solar powered fans but they are not going to work at all for what I need. Might invest in another one, but at the moment funds are dwindling.

Tomatoes are looking good, and tasting even better! At least the Plum tomatoes are really good, haven't tried a striped yet....

I think they should do fine since the last ones there did good. The green colored house is used by lots of gardeners with good results, at least non-canna growers rave about the things. I was looking into that kind before the hoose idea took over my mind :)

Hmm. I meant the light deprive from light pollution during the night.. (Motion lights, porch lights, headlights up/down the road..)

But the trash can thing is an interesting idea - you could essentially plant in a pot/whatever, and use an upside-down trash can at night to cover it, .. ? I wonder if a decent amount of 2"-or-so holes in the can would do enough to allow air through without light in..

Good stuff!

cali, very interesting strains. I will be keeping an eye on this one. I used a portable type of greenhouse for a while and had constant problems with the covering and the high winds here. It started small rips along the seams and zipper. From there, it was over. So keep on top of any small rips and tears. Make sure you get clear duck tape or actual greenhouse tape since these are some of the only ones that still let light through and actually stick well to plastic like this. If you have low winds there, I could see this lasting a while. I ended up having to put an actual greenhouse in and poured a cement slab for the base. All in all, it cost me less than $500. Very nice though, thanks for sharing !

I love that greenhouse used the same one in spring but the zipper ended up breaking, cheap one maybe two season greenhouse but gets the job done! your photography skills are awesome bro. Some nice genetics in there and I see what your talking about when you said not enough light... chainsaw time

Update! Plants are all flowering, some are in their 3rd-4th week and some are just in their 2nd....I definitely think the buds will be loose/fluffy and not dense looking at things now, it seems there just isnt enough light to produce huge colas....Though some of the plants look like they could yield, I just doubt that it will be very solid buds, the resin is of course there and I may end up making hash with most if not all of the flowers.....I've got an indoor set running right now same flowering time as the outdoors pretty much, so I will have two harvests come October!

East Coast Sour Diesel looking pretty nice!

The Chem Blues are putting on thick branches, it seems she is getting ready for some heavy weight and indeed has long donkey dick like colas forming....This is what we expected when Mito used the donkey dick male and back crossed the chem blue. One Chem Blue smells like sweet sweet sugary blueberries!

Didn't take any pics of the OG Hero's, they are the last to start flowering and honestly don't have much going on. Thanks for all the kind comments, hope you enjoy the show! :ying:

Great shots cali!
There's still time before harvest so buds will surely fatten and then again outdoor flavour is superior imho even with some fluffy-ness :)

Peace

k+ very cleanly pruned them ladies are :)

specially the under-growth; does wonders for air circulation through the whole gh, keeping things fresh for sure, but you know that...

just wanted to comment on the pruning job, also the topping, if I'm not mistaken. now you have branches as colas, rather than lil branches and a main cola.

takes me back to my own gh and my own plants, pruned almost exactly as those. oh the nostalgia...

thanks for sharing!

peace!
