Cali Clone Cab

For the 08 year I've decided to take the clone approach in my personal medical grow cabinet. I built up a little collection of ladies prior to the start of '08 (courtesy of APE's garden in San Diego and Swerve's in LA).

Over the past few years of medicating I've realized that sativa dominant hybrids (like 65-75 percent sativa, precisely) give me the most suitable medicinal effects and hence I aimed to pick more of those strains; although I did choose one very heavy indica for insomnia, prn. Furthermore, I've always sought exotic flavors when it comes to meds and luckily the clone experts in SoCal have some real interesting genetics to share in that respect. So we shall see how well this goes :)

Rundown of the strains:

Strawberry Creme (via Swerve/APE) - my most sativa dominant one; the genuine cut from CBF's garden that has the extreme strawberries & creme flavaroma! Heavy yielder, very resinous, not much of a stinker, heat resistant; taking her close to 70d.

Madness (via APE) - purported to be a special cut of Salmon Creek BigBud (which originated in OR decades ago) that was most likely outcrossed once or many times over the years, until it reached a circle of compassionate growers in san D (thanks SubRob & bro); taking her at 63-70d.

P91 (via APE) - a very rare, heirloom strain bred in the late 80s early 90s in Poway by a group of high school graduates and passed out in seed form via newsgroup postings. It is, in my belief, a triple cross of Northern Lights that holds Hindu, Afghani & Thai genetics in it and will prove to be an old school knock out med (insomnia) - one two tyson style '91 KO! Taking her at 56-63d.

Ice Cream (via APE) - a Paradise seeds strain crossed with another Paradise strain, Sensi Star to get a stockier and heavier yielding strain of a flavorful indica, having a skunky vanilla lemon cream smell and hopefully taste too :p Taking her at 56-63.

Cush (via Swerve) - aka Green Crack, is an indica looking plant that produces heavy buds of rush-inducing sativa goodness, taking her at 45-49.

I've topped all plants; lighting source is 250w Philips CMH bulb in batwing (65watt/sqft) ; transplanted into 2gallon pots for flowering; soil for all - 3bag mix of fox farm; feeds once a week only advanced nutrients iguana juice bloom, super tea bloom and budswel plus some molasses here and there - keeping it 100% organic.

I plan on updating weekly with photos and such, please feel free to PM or post feedback, cause this is surely a learning process for me with all these strains and hopefully a positive one for all of us :)
Enjoy the growshow :lurk:

Here's the collection one week into flower

right on man- this thread will let you focus a lil more on just the grow! RE:p91-the single best strain i have ever consumed for insomnia, matter of fact-most herb makes me want to stay awake and enjoy the buzz. not only does p91 put me out, but it is quality rem sleep. my bro has got that and the strawberry goin, but we have both been kinda focused on seeds the last month or so, so you are a little ahead of us. will be tuning in to see if theres anything that will help us. gonna be a bomb cab!!!!!!sub

subrob nice of ya to stop by brotha thanks for the comments! great insider info on the p91 there - I always keep a heavy indica (usually bubba or master) on hand for times of insomnia and somatic pain - and I am very glad to hear there's a killer new addition waiting to be added to my indica favorites list! actually the p's already a stinker dude! today was the first day that I opened my cab in the morning and actually smelled the "dank" essence - up close the p and cush are already bombs, but madness and screme are throwing calyxes the fastest. Which brings me the issue of each strains demands as far as feeding goes. APE never got back to me about these details so I am kinda lost and have to play it by sight/smell... things look optimal though at the moment so I am going to keep doing the same I guess

Neptune haha very nice to have you here buddy enjoy the blooming of what I call the Dragor-atory! haha =P Jah bless...

interesting... i dig the cab man.. looking good.... so where did the cut come from then hendoku

Swerve,

I'm not saying it didn't come from you at some point. I'm not sure where it came from originally. I'm guessing this one came from TLMD about 6 months ago. If those were your's, cool. I'm just saying that it didn't come directly from you, so we can't really be sure.

Best Wishes...

Welcome again to all newcomers! Its a great to have you all here in this my new thread :)- *passes da spliff*

HenDokuYaku & MysterX well this Cushcut was very generously gifted to me by a fellow friend/med patient who acquired it I believe in end of Sept early Oct from TLMD in the valley. I personally don't know if the club personnel were claiming it to be from "swerve" or not (but seems they always said swerve cuts were in so I figured these were from you too). In any case, I want to leave the credits up there to you for the SCreme and Cush because you were the original distributor of the breeders' work.

X - did Strawberry Creme seem to be prone to powdery mildew? I just noted a bunch of it on mine yesterday and haven't had time to make a store run, what do you suggest I use to wipe or spray them with? Its only day 11 of flowering right now so bud rot shouldn't be a concern - please help or anybody else as I don't want this stuff spreading any more on the same plant or to other plants. I'm gonna spray them with high pH tap water right now until I get some definitive treatment plans from y'all... thanks!

welll pm is usually caused by high humidity and lower temps... so basically throw a dehumidifier in there and raise your temps a bit.. but i never had any pm probs...if probs persist with it.. i would say do a search here on pm there are a grip of threads on best remedies...

Week 2 Done

Week 2 Done

Onto week three here with the clonies...
Been feeding them more often now as they are drinking up their nutes a lot faster now.

Powdery mildew was a short ordeal that I got cleared up fairly quickly thanks to ICmag threaders :) I basically sprayed all of the plants down with the 3% regular h2o2 as soon as I discovered it on the Strawberry Creme. Then I bought some stuff called Garden Safe 3-in-1 Fungicide (which is basically a 0.9% clarified neem oil solution, OMRI certified) and I sprayed down the entire SCreme plant and spot sprayed Madness and P91 that had barely the beginnings of one or two patches. I have been keeping an eye on SCreme closely and spot sprayed her today some more - but, I don't like the smell of this stuff so I won't be using it excessively at all. I think most importantly I made sure to raise my night time temps to the 70's (they were in the 60's before) and I changed out the CMH bulb for the HPS bulb because the heat from CMH was too much and daytime humidity was too high. With HPS now I have 75F all day and ambient humidity which is probably below 50% (don't have a meter yet).

I have a concern now that the plants are getting thicker/bushier that not all the budding sites are getting adequate light coverage - I am wondering which leaves people suggest to clip off? Anything obstructing or older fan leaves only? This isn't my first time doing topped plants but it is my first time dealing with topped plants in a tight cab space... Suggestions?

Well here it is... the week 2 showcase showdown... :yummy:

edit: pictures wont show up thru IC gallery so I will reupload again soon...

Hello there...

first thing is to try to create an even canopy. I know you're running different strains with different stretch, but you can raise the shorter ones up with a highchair (or empty pot). After you do that, try just tucking the leaves that are in the way under the canopy before you start trimming them, imo.
